Lower Crowds Sat or Sun of Labor Day Weekend?

I have a friend heading to Cali in a few weeks and she is trying to figure out of it would be better crowd wise on the Saturday or Sunday (Sept 1st or 2nd)of Labor day weekend. Any idea which would be lower?

Just a guess but I would think they would be pretty equal. All but premium passholders will be blocked out both days and people coming from out of town (for vacation or the marathon) will be there for both days (probably not leaving until Monday).

The only difference may be which day the marathon is held (not sure if it is Sat or Sun). I am guessing that many people that ran in the marathon won't be spending that day in the parks.

I was there last year for the Labor Day race weekend. Arrived on Friday and left on Monday.

Basically, Saturday was noticeably less crowded than Sunday last year. I imagine that many of the runners were not going commando style on Saturday to preserve their strength. The crowds increased beginning Sunday afternoon and Sunday night was very busy. And Monday was very, very busy!

I will be there Fri, Sat, Sun.. for better or for worse!
Been there many times over Labor Day, it's busy, but doable.
Better than Thanksgiving weekend, IMHO.
