We're here at BLT now (till Monday) in a 1 BR, 6th floor, center - pool view.
I love everything about the place - the decor, the location, the space in the room (seems to me to have more drawer and shelf space than SSR)!

It's been too cold here to use the pool, so trying the slide will have to happen on the next trip, lol!

We watched Wishes from the lounge last night - I liked being able to stand inside (the temp. was in the 30's) with a drink and relax while watching the fireworks :lovestruc but DH didn't like having the bright lights on the outer balcony shining in our eyes during the fireworks. I assume the lights are on for safety's sake, but they are very bright. DD loved the couches up there - so comfy!

Hope you are having a great time!

You are in the perfect room to answer the following questions I started on another thread:

Looking at the POS schematics and some posted room pics, it appears the kitchen island has an overhang and barstools in the outer crescent (even-numbered) rooms while the island in the inner crescent (odd-numbered) rooms lacks an overhang and barstools. Can anyone confirm?

Also, the washer/dryer closet in the inner crescent rooms appears to be a walk-in and much larger. Does anyone have any pics of it?

A Guide told me that unlike OKW, housekeeping at BLT puts the linens on the sleep sofa and sleeper chair. Is this true?

KSP~ We too are loving our first visit... we are down on the first floor on the corner and have a nice view of the boat rental and lake... we could see the water pageant from the room last night too.... I like that the kids can go out the patio door and play on the grass and I can watch them..... This is not bad for a standard 2 bedroom...

Yes it is soooo cold !! I can't believe it ! We leave late tomorrow and will be in full cold gear tonight and tomorrow for sure !!

Maybe we will see you at the lounge ! LOL We have a half bottle of vodka to anyone who is thirsty !! LOL

Also DVC92~ We were in room 8040 7844 and 7144 this trip and all 3 had stools and overhangs. :)

I have also learned that I will never change rooms again ! LOL What a pain !

Stickfigure - we were just up in the lounge ... sitting at one of the tall tables in the center of the room from about 9:30 p.m. till somewhere around 11 p.m.
Where you there?

We are in room 7621 -

Our kitchen island does not have an overhang and we don't have barstools. The banquette is much larger than a 1 BR at SSR and also has a matching ottoman-type seat at one end.

The washer/dryer closet is really more like a small room; as you walk in you have a stacked w/d unit on your immediate right. Then, wire shelving ...maybe 3 feet long. The far end on the rectangular room has a closet rod (no hangers on it) and that's where the vacuum is stored, along w/mop and broom hanging on the wall. All in all, LOTS of ROOM! :dance3:

We've only used the sleeper sofa ... linens were already on and blankets were in the bedroom closet. That closet, btw, is very small ... more like a small 2' square space. The safe is freestanding in the closet.

I'm sitting on the sleeper chair (in chair form, not folded out) right now ... very comfy!
DD slept on the sofa and proclaims it quite comfy! :cloud9:

We'll be in a lake view 2 bedroom beginning on Wednesday! Hope to see and say hi to some fellow disboarders!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. I wear my "bobbiwoz" Disboard button.

I took a picture of the laundry room in room 8427 (walkin laundry - no bar stools) but I can't post a pic yet.

If no one shows up with a picture today, I'll post to some threads so I can raise the post count and show the pic!

Thank you for your report, it is so nice to hear good things about this resort, and that you are having fun, despite the cold weather.

Our visit home is over - none of us wanted to leave! I do believe that it is my favorite DVC to date.

Here's a few thoughts my DH and DD shared:

DD has decided that after spending a few nights on the sofabed that she likes the sofa bed at SSR better ... BLT's mattress is quite firm. (So I guess that if you like firm mattresses, BLT sofa bed is for you!)

DH and I both liked the mattress in the master bedroom - firm, but still comfy/soft

DH noticed that the wall behind the couch was not fully finished; the baseboard stops just after the edge of the couch and there was still drywall dust, etc. left on the floor there.

The shower in the master suite is quite nifty - the shower spout from the wall gives a wider spray than what I'm used to in a "standard" shower head.

I still wish for a few more hooks in the shower area itself ... seems like there's never enough room of that type. The master bath shower/toilet area only has a short towel bar in the shower door - that's it - other than that there is a shelf just over the toilet that holds your folded towels.

The overhead "rain" shower was a little disappointing in two ways - you could not combine both the overhead and the wall spray - it was either/or, and the overhead spout would often drip cold water on you as you were showering. (A little disconcerting, lol!):scared1:

DH noticed the thermostat controls (yup, he's the technically-minded one ... I noticed the fabrics used in the room - go figure!) are able to tell the "master computer" when people are actually in the room.

I'm not too clear on how that happens, but that was his explanation to me. This apparently differs from what we have seen at SSR - when you move in the room, the circulation kicks back on, etc.

We liked the choices over at the Contempo Cafe; our last meal on property was there. DD had the Angus beef burger w/jack cheese and some really good french fries (the burger was quite large ... she couldn't get through the whole thing). DH has a chicken sandwich w/fries ... also very tasty. I tried one of their salads - there were so many things in there that I can't remember them all - potatoes, zucchini, dried cherries (my personal favorite) and I chose to have the yogurt dressing tossed in- was very good!

Our 11 month window opens up Saturday! We booked a 1br SV at Boardwalk for the Sat Night before our cruise in Dec. Now, we can book BLT on Sat for the nights after our cruise! And I am so excited for our first trip to our new home!

Have fun, and enjoy the Top of the World lounge :)

love wishes from TOW - of course went outside - it is even better outside.

the south in generally is having a cold wave - it has not been this cold in Ala since 1985 (early this week and later) - right now despite the snow it is almost warm -

monday looks like alot better.

really, really love BLT. a bit jealous have not stayed in a 1-bedroom yet...
