lovinaz's "getting her act together" journal

Dehli Belly, is that line Montezuma's Revenge???:rotfl2: Umm, I guess that would be one way to keep the weight steady.;)

I hope you are having a super trip, what a fantastic opportunity to see a a new country! I hope you have time to see some things and not just work.

No worries about the scale, you have had a lot going on and I can safely say most of us wouldn't be working out too much either.

Whether you work inside or outside the home, I think the general mom consensus is that summer sort of drives the routine out the window! I was just saying to my friend today, that even though I love having the kids home and its nice not worrying about homework and all that, my whole life is off kilter. Just a few more weeks and then you'll have your early morning workout routine back!

Safe trip and no Dehli Belly okay???!!!!:rotfl:

Hey everyone! I made it back from India, safe and sound. I did get a bout of "Delhi Belly" on the plane ride home (probably spent 2hrs of the 10hr flight from London to Phoenix in the lavatory... :rolleyes1). But I don't think it was from food in India, I think it was from food on the flight from Delhi to London. But regardless, I recovered. I think that is the first time I actually lost weight on a trip! :lmao: But of course every pound came back. Weight this morning was 140. Argh, I never wanted to see that number again! But I know TOM is right around the corner, I have every PMS symptom in the book. SO hopefully most of it is water and will go away soon.

I think I am going to have to take a break from WISH for a while (like I haven't been doing that already!). I just don't have time to log on and I won't until this proposal gets submitted in late Sept. We might actually get a 4 week extension, which means I will be busy until late Oct instead. :confused3 I think about you guys all the time, I hope I can get a chance to catch up with everyone soon. And I hope I can get back to exercising and posting again soon! :goodvibes

Glad you made it back safe. Hope the trip was great. Understand about work, you are so busy with it. Hope you don't have to be traveling with it for a while. We'll be waiting for you when you come back.

glad your home safe and saound Amy :)
will miss you but totally understand

I'm glad you're home safe and sound, Amy!

We'll miss you, WISH sis, but we completely understand. :grouphug: When you are ready to come back, we'll be here. :grouphug:

Take extra special, good care of you!

Glad you are home safe and sound Amy. I agree with everyone else, we'll miss you but totally understand. We'll keep you on page one! You have a lot going on right now and you can't spread yourself too thin. We have all had times when we took a Wish break and we know you'll be back! In the meantime, take care of YOU and we'll see you soon!

hopefully things are going smoothly for you, Amy, & that the proposal doesn't cause you too many headaches.

Hang in there! Praying for you!!

Hey Amy, I hope things are going well with you. We miss you around here! I said you'd stay on page one and I intend to keep it that way!

Hope all is well with the proposal, you, the kids, Eric and of course Buckley!

Miss you friend.

I'm back!!! Thanks so much for keeping me on page 1! :grouphug: I've missed you guys tremendously and I need you to help me get back on track. The proposal is on its way to India as I type, so that is a HUGE relief! I finally have some time to focus on something other than work. :thumbsup2

Some good news - I got a promotion!!!:cool1::woohoo::yay::cheer2: I was very excited about that, because I was put in for a promotion at the regular time, but got turned down because I hadn't been in my current level for long enough. Well, during the proposal, I worked with some very high level people who were impressed with my work. And one of them just happens to be on the promotion board, so I got a surprise, "off-season" promotion. I was thrilled, to say the least!

Now the not-so-good news... I have managed to gain 5 lbs since I got back from India in late July. :sad2: I was actually up to about 143/144, but have been stuck at 141 for the last couple weeks. I did not ever want to see anything in the 140's again!!!!! So it's time to get back into the swing of things.

Goals:
1) work out 5x a week (3x cardio @ gym, 2x Pilates @ home)
2) control the after work/pre-dinner snacking (fruit or veggies only)
3) weigh 135 (or less, of course) by Christmas

So, I will get back to posting my boring food and workouts and can't wait to get caught up with everyone. :goodvibes

Welcome Back, Amy!!! :welcome: We missed you around here!:grouphug:

CONGRATULATIONS on your promotion!!!!:cheer2: That is wonderful!!!!:woohoo: :cool1::banana::dance3::yay::cheer2:

No worries on the weight gain. I know you'll get back OP and that weight will come right off. You CAN do it, Amy!!!!:cheer2:

Hope you have a nice evening. It's great to have you back! :goodvibes

Tracy, thanks for the welcome back! I still need to get caught up with everyone. Hopefully early this week.

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::yay:

YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!

Seriously, this is the best news I have had all day! All week, heck, all month!

Congratulations on your promotion, you really deserved that and that must make all the hard work and sacrifice a little easier to deal with!

As for the five pounds, well that happens and you came to the right place to get that off! I know you can do it.

And your food is not boring, it gives me good ideas!

Seriously kiddo, we have missed you around here and I am just so glad to have you back!

You can do it!

I'm slow getting back into the journaling phase, that's for sure! Still wrapping things up and trying to get back into a "normal" routine. DH had to go out of town for work this week - he will be out of town until probably Thanksgiving, but at least he can come back on weekends. It still wreaks havoc on the household though, especially on Thursdays. DS has shooting class and DD has soccer practice, and of course they are at the same time. Our friend has graciously offered to take DS to shooting class while DH is gone (this guy is an avid gun collector), so that is a huge help.

Didn't wake up and do my Pilates today. :confused3 I HAVE to get back into that habit! I have been faithfully going to the gym 3x a week for cardio, but have not done any strength training in months. And things are getting flabbier! I WILL do Pilates when I get home. It's the only way I'll make my 5x a week goal.

Sunday-
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: turkey wrap (FlatOut bread, turkey, cheddar, mustard)
S: handful trail mix
S: string cheese; handful trail mix :sad2:
D: turkey meatloaf; asparagus; Healthy Choice fudge bar

E: none

Monday-
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: turkey wrap (FlatOut bread, turkey, cheddar, mustard); 2 Oreos
S: cucumbers; string cheese
S: dried Fuji apple pack (40 cal)
D: veggie burger (w/mustard, no bun); 1 piece carrot cake

E: 45min on elliptical

Amy, thanks!!!! I'm glad to be back, I hope I am able to make some progress before the end of the year.

Congratulations on your promotion! :cool1: How wonderful for you. Hard work really does pay off.

Pine nuts on pizza. Now that is something I never would have thought of, nuts on pizza. But no sauce?:confused3 How does it all stay on?

Your food looks good, Amy!:cheer2:

Did you get the Pilates workout in last night?

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

WARNING - Excuses ahead!!!! :confused3

Wow. I am totally blowing it!!! Pilates did not happen last night. And I didn't work out this morning!!! :sad2: Add that to the fact that I over-snacked when I got home, and that equals one big self-pity party. :guilty:

I got home from work and saw that DH did not change out all the lights in the front to Halloween orange ones, which was unusual, because he is always on top of that stuff when I ask him to do it. I'm sure he was just busy trying to get ready for his biz trip. So anyway, I asked DD10 if she wanted to help me do that, plus hang up the ghost and spider lights, and the light-up skeleton. So we did that and next thing I know, it's after 6pm and time to make dinner. GAME OVER. We ate around 7, then watched Biggest Loser, then the kids went to bed and I was up tossing and turning until almost 1am. Hence the not getting up at 4am to go to the gym...

Oh well, it's not the end of the world, right?? Maybe I can do Pilates when I get home today.

For Tuesday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Flat Out wrap w/turkey and cheddar
S: 3 mini cucumbers; plum
S: sugar snap peas w/hummus; 2 handfuls trail mix (I will smack DH if he ever buys this again!); about 2 servings of Wheat Thins
D: chicken stir fry w/brown rice; Healthy Choice Fudge Bar

E: none

eyor44, thanks! I don't know how they get the cheese to stick to the crust, but it does. It is a super thin wheat crust (a smidge thicker than a tortilla) with 4 different cheese and the pine nuts. I love it and get it every single time we go to this restaurant.

Tracy, as you can read, no Pilates, but plenty of guilt!

No beating yourself up, Amy! It's okay...You got busy with the decorations and then had a rough night and didn't get a lot of sleep. You did get some movement in by putting the decorations up and tossing and turning can count as exercise too, right? ;) Seriously Amy, I know that you will get back to your workout routine. You CAN do it!!!:cheer2:

I hope you have a nice evening. :goodvibes
