We moved to GF today. I realize that this is not a
DVC resort (yet), but I am not going to start a new TR on a different board. Bell services at BWV and at GF did a great job at getting our 7 items moved to the new resort. We transported some stuff ourself. We were excited to have our room ready at 9AM. We are in the Conch building on the third floor. We have a water view with the monorail in the background. This is the closest building to the boat launch, which is a good thing, since the monorail is down during the day still. The CM at the front desk told us that the monorail may be back to full operations tomorrow. He said that the downtime the past few weeks was for NTSB inspections. Hmmm. . .
Anyway, we went to MK after getting settled. We got in around 10. We rode the carousel and then off to Storybook Circus!! Dumbo and The Barnstormer were both up and running. The new train station looks great and there are large bathrooms in the new station. The Dumbo ride looks awesome! Sadly, guests are trampling the landscaping along the line to get onto the ride, but I think this landscaping may be temporary anyway. The walkway to the area has some neat features stamped into the concrete, but I don't want to give away any surprises.
After Storybook Circus, we made our way to the Tomorrowland Terrace for lunch. DW had the beef and blue salad, which she enjoyed, and I had the chicken alfredo. If you ever get the alfredo, asked for an extra plate so you can have something to cut the chicken up on. For some reason, they do not dice up the chicken.
We then went to the HM followed by watching the Dream Along with Mickey castle show. We made a quick stop in the Emporium and took the boat back to GF. DS5 swam for about 45 minutes and is now taking a much needed nap. We will head back to MK tonight for rides and Wishes. Luckily, we had a leftover bottle of wine to enjoy while the boy rests!
This is our second split stay, and so far, I am not a big fan. I like experiencing different resorts, but it is a nuisance re-packing everything, especially when you have an OL. I feel like I lose a few hours. Oh well, then next trip is an AKV/BLT split stay, so I better get used to it.
