Lovin' AKV - concierge

OK -- so we have our first AKV CL stay booked for June. We were a little hesitant to use the extra points for CL. We just had the IPO book our ADR's and tours. I am suddenly addicted to this level of service! I am now concerned that we have to have an AKV-CL component to all of our future trips. I know, I know. . . I haven't experienced the value (or lack thereof) of CL, but it was nice to have them take care of all of the reservations.

When they converted the rooms at AKL into DVC villas, DVC also had to take the rooms on the sixth floor. But since that floor is the concierge level, those had to have concierge level service. None of the other villas were converted hotel rooms on the concierge lounge level. It probably won't happen again.

I am hooked! This would be a great way for DVC to get members to spend more points on a stay, or even a way for DVD to sell more points per contract. They really should consider expanding this or at least offering it at all of the DVC resorts.

I don't think I would use the points needed for CL with every future stay, but I definitely getting sucked in!

I would like the 5th floor to be offered for concierge at AKL for the extra points. Then again, that might make it hard to get any room at Jambo.

I have a couple of non contiguous cl studio nights booked for mid June which I picked up at 7 months (very surprised). Of course I am waitlisted for the intervening night and one add on night, but I know the chances are slim to none with only 5 units.
I have had 1 night before and it is a lot of fun (even if the food offering are not what they used to be). We have a Wednesday night so I have already called IPO to book the sunrise safari for our family at 180 days.
Maybe we will see you there, when are you going?

I also wish they would add CL rooms to some of the new resorts that they are working on, but I think if would only happen if they did not have to have a dedicated lounge for DVC. They could ask a much higher point premiun than they have at AKV (I would be happy to pay 10+ points more for a CL studio) so they could sell a lot more points and make more $$$$. Rare for DVC to miss out on making extra profit.

I also wish there would be some other CL offerings for DVC. I hope to some day try the AKL CL, it sounds very nice.

I've had a few 1 to 4 night stays at CL AKV and they've been worth the extra points. Once, due to something unforseen (never knew that it was), we were in a savannah view on the 5th floor with the CL experience. The Sunrise Safari and breakfast experience is very nice, and I hope to do it with my DGC someday!
