Loved the SWAN

Yes, you can swim under the waterfall. There are lounge chairs under the rock hangover under the falls, too, for a shady, cool area to rest. A little noisy, though, from the falls. The slide is to the extreme right of the falls. There are many secluded hot tubs to use, also. The water in this pool is cooler than others because of the waterfall. It was certainly a welcome relief in August! There is a lap pool and a children's pool, too. The pool meanders on to the right and undr a bridge so you are seeing a small piece of it. This pix was taken on the path way from the resort passing by the rental booth where you pick up towels. You can see a section of the building on the right.

Come on disnurse - post those pictures! ;) If I learned how to - you can too! :)

Yes, the boats make stops at Boardwalk, YC/BC on their way to Epcot or MGM.

Yes I traveled with my 14 year old son and he had a blast. They even had organized water polo games in the groto pool.

BigSis, yes anyone can get turndown...when you check into your room press housekeeping on the phone and tell them you would like it for the length of your stay:D
Yes, I sat on the balcony in the mornings and late afternoons. My hubby and I had some snacks and drinks and just relaxed a bit.

KJMC, I prefered the Swan when I looked at both, just my opinion though. The Swan pluses were the heavenly beds (INCREDIBLE), the extra sink outside the bathroom, and the smaller size of the overall hotel of the Swan. But again, that's just my opinion and the Dolphin is very beautiful too.

Hope this helps everyone...Any more questions I would be delighted to answer:D

When I thought, that my trip deals were done, here comes another one.

First, just by chance, I was able to secure an airfare on Spirit Airlines leaving Chicago Ohare Dec 26 and returning Jan 3 for $181.50 :Pinkbounc :bounce: :) .

The Second great deal:

I thought that I would have to either stay at a place for $360 a night or wait until dicsounts and AP rates came out for the winter season and hope that a place that I wanted to stay would be available. Boy was I really wrong. Here is what happened today.

The lady that I had making my reservation with Swans was just wonderful. I remember what many of you said about never knowing what kind of a deals the reservationist is willing to put together for you if you are nice and friendly on the phone, and in this case that was true. At first she told me that unless I had AAA membership or entertainment card I really wouldn't beable to get that great of a deal or much of a discount because of the time of the year that I was traveling. I mentioned about a possible AP rate and this being a solo trip and my first one since 1980 when I was 6 and she put me on hold for a couple of minutes. When she came back to the phone she told me that with an AP, I could stay for $209.06 a night. I was shocked    . She put me in a Club level room with a King size bed with a great view facing Epcot. I could not believe my luck.

I know that everyone says that you should stay at one of the "disney" resorts to get the full feeling of WDW. However, why would I pay $2900 at a deluxe Disney resort for just a standard view basic room, when I can spend 1627.48 at a luxury resort like Swan with concierge service and a great reputation that it has.

Being able to walk to Epcot is a major plus along with all of the surronding resterants that I can eat at and charge to my room.

Well, I wanted this to be a vacation that I would remember and a vacation of a lifetime and I believe that has become a reality.

I just can't wait to go

HOW WONDERFUL!! What a perfect blessing! You will have such a great time. We had the king bed and boy was it king...lol
If you are facing EPCOT you will be able to see the fireworks of Illuminations right from your room. I am so happy for you, it's great when it all falls together so nicely!

Emmy, thanks for the Info.. I am calling for the turndown - my kids will get a big kick out of that !!!

Onceuponadream - I used the request form right on the swan/dolphin website and got a response that they had requested a balcony for me. I did even put down that it was a hotwire ressie and gave them the number.. Easy as Pie !!

Jason - sounds like you are going to have the best time !!!

Hi...

To anyone who may know....

Is the Club Level = to Concierge Service at the Deluxe Resorts? (ie) PS's, Itinerary Planning etc... or is it more of a "Concierge Light" ?

>>^..^<<

WE just returned yesterday from the Swan as well. The beds are really nice, but ours did not have a fitted sheet. I hated that.

I booked the $81 Hotwire deal as well and requested a balcony. They offered me one for a $30 upcharge per night. I NEED a balcony, my husband and I spend our "couple" time every night and each morning on the balcony while the kids are in bed.

I thought this was still better than my $129 teacher rate, so I accepted the upcharge. There is nothing better than sitting on the balcony with a beverage in hand after a long day in the Florida sun.

How far is the walk from the Swan rooms to the Dolphin restaurants? Thanks! :D

I am going to WDW in June to plan my wedding. As of right now I have ressies at AKL (standard room, not savannah). I may switch to the Swan now! The prices are exactly the same, and I love the area that the Swan is in!

For us, nothing beats being able to WALK to two of our favorite parks!
We've stayed at each Swan and Dolphin. I absolutely adore the area these hotels are in! The Boardwalk is great!

accomp ~ the walk from the Swan lobby to the Dolphin lobby is minutes. Here'a picture of the connecting walk way with the boat dock on the left.

Can someone explain Hotwire? We're going on Disney Magic in December, and we're coming in to Orlando the night before and want to stay near Disney. How do you know you're getting the Swan (or what hotel you're getting) when you book with Hotwire?

Hotwire.com is similar to Priceline, but they give you a hotel in each star level to choose from. But do not give you the name of the hotel until after you purchase.

The purchase is non-changeable, n on-refundable.

It also lists the amenities of each hotel and by recognizing the amenities listed, one can tell which hotel is being offered in each star level.

Check out this thread it is lengthy, but has all the info you need.

Give me your dates and I can check for you.

Hey mouseteacher.........nice picture! I am so proud. Loved the Swan myself!

Needz,

Sorry, checked your date and only the Hilton comes up. But if you are going on a cruise I would check over on the cruise forum and ask about a hotel in the Cape Canaveral area.

I personally wouldn't head to Disney for one night as it is the opposite direction of Cape Canaveral. Good luck.
