So we have a long way to go still...9 months to go but we are both sooo excited about our upcoming trip.

Cast

Jessica (26) Full time Student and work full time for a plastic distribution company. Love's all things Disney. Never really grew up. Still loves stuffed animals. My dream is to get married in WDW.

Ruben- DBF(24) Collector of EVERYTHING. Has a ton of Disney Fine art, statues, pins. Loves Disney. Wishes we could stay there.

A little back story on us. We met in February 2003 and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. Not long after, I began telling Ruben of my love for Disney World. I had been a few times as a child and once as an adult with my friend Eileen, her husband, and son. It mostly satisfied my desire for Disney but i longed for more! The timing never seemed right for us to go to Disney. There was always something standing in our way.

But in 2005 we decided, it was now or never. We decided to stay offsite and rent a car. We stayed at the Hawthron Suites near the airport. We had a beautiful room and the hotel was lovely but certainly not Disney. On this trip, we did Disney, Universal, Discovery Cove, and Seaworld. We were busy busy busy. At the end of those 9 days we decided we would never stay offisite again. We had extreme envy of those on the dining plan as well as everyone who was sending their stuff back to the resorts as we were stuck lugging everything back to our room.

Our next trip was in March of 2006 and it was wonderful. We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort. We did Disney soley. we saw Cirque de Soliel. Everything was perfect. it was 9 wonderful days and as we left I had one question, When are we going back?

Our next trip was in Sept/Oct 2006. We did MNSSHP and Food and wine.
We stayed at POR and got in for free dining. It was simply wonderful. As we left, one question entered my mind, When are we going back?

In november, we decided to join DVC. Not right for everyone, but certainly right for us. We bought 200 points at Saratoga Springs resort. We have decided to hold off until December 2007 to head back to Disney. We plan on staying at 1 bedroom at Boardwalk. We plan on doing MVMCP and candlelight processional.

A few months ago, I purchased my passporter 2007 edition and my baggalini. On our last trip, the passporter was like a bible to me. I wrote everything and anything down. I also kept all the receipts inside of it and added everything up at the end of the day. You see, Ruben and I are spenders. If we like something its coming home. When we went in early 2006, we came home with 2 pieces of Disney Fine Art and a big statue.

I want this trip to be extra special. Though they all are.

Here we are back in September in MGM

First of all, Welcome Home, neighbor!!! :goodvibes You are going to LOVE the Boardwalk! What view did you reserve, or are you still waiting for the 7-month window to reserve? We just stayed in a 2-bedroom Boardwalk view villa for Christmas 2006 and it was amazing! It is such a great time of year to go. :santa: You guys sound a lot like us. We spend money on things that are important to us, and Disney is one of those things! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read more!
Happy Planning!

We are still waiting for the 7th month window to switch over the ressie. In the mean time, we have a one bedroom at SSR booked just in case we cant get boardwalk.
I cant wait. The boardwalk looks so beautiful

That sounds so exciting. Ive always wanted to stay in a one bedroom. I cant wait to hear more about the trip. How do you guys like the DVC so far? You guys look really cute in that pic!!!

Thanks for the compliment. We havent been back to Disney since we joined DVC in november. We are looking foward to it!

Our first trip to Disney together was completely and utterly disorganized. I didnt even know what an ADR was. In spite of that, we ate on site quite a few times. I remember eating at the 50's primetime dinner when we were there twice.

On our second trip to Disney I had only become slightly wiser and I think made 2 adr's. This trip we ate at Crystal Palace, Wolfgang Pucks, Biergarten, Maya Grill, Pepper Market, Teppanyaki, Sci Fi Dine-in, and Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We had made ADR's for Donald's and the Crystal Palace.

The third time we went, I made ADR's for just about everything we could. We ate at Sci-Fi, 1900 Park Faire, Wolfgang Pucks, Le Cellier, and Earl of Sandwich. All were wonderful.

This round I am carefully planning where we want to eat. We have already created a spreadsheet and I'm patiently waiting till I can call and make the ADR's. Our plans so far include, Le Cellier, Kona Cafe, Concourse Steak house, Mama Melrose, Shutters and Captain Jacks. We still have 2 more table services left to fill. Any suggestions?

We really enjoyed Le Celliers when we went in the fall. We both had that delicious cheddar cheese soup with the scrumptious pretzel bread. I had the maple filet with the creamy mashed potatoes. Ruben had the mushroom filet. he enjoyed this meal the most out of every meal we had that trip. he still talks about the risotto.

I wanted to try Captain Jacks dispite iffy reviews of it. Ya see, a lot of people dislike Pepper Market and we love it. We plan on hitting it for dinner one night. So Im inclined to give captain jacks a whirl.
I am also planning to surprise him with Fultons Crab House on the day we leave. I'm not a huge seafood fan but i think he would really enjoy it. So I plan to take him there are our last hurah.

I also cant wait to purchase our plane tickets. Even though we have our ressie in for our room, it doesnt seem real till you have the plane tickets all paid for. We will be taking Jetblue. We've always enjoyed our flights with them.
i have reservations for a car through hertz. While we stay on property, we both like the idea of getting into the car and going whenever we feel like it. Occasionally, we will use the bus if we hop during the day. For now we have a corolla reserved but might switch to a convertible. We had a beautiful 2007 toyota solara when we were there in Sept.

We also did MNSSHP when we went in Sept. This is something Ruben got me the night we went to MNSSHP. He ordered it from Disney Flowers

 Hi! I am so glad to find your pre-trip report. My DH and I are both Disney fanatics, too. It's always nice to find another couple as into Disney as we are. I'm really enjoying your posts, so far. I'm impressed and a bit jealous that you two became DVC owners. We keep talking about it ourselves, but keep debating on putting up so much money for it. Any advice?

Our last two trips, we also left leaving, "When are we going to go back?" :yay: :yay: :yay: After our first trip, it took us four years to make our way back. That was killer! But, as soon as we returned from our summer of '06 trip, we immediately began planning for our Dec. '07 trip. We've always wanted to go during the holidays and we got married in '92, during Christmas week. So, spending that time period in the Happiest Place on Earth, just seemed natural to us. We didn't book until October, but I just had to begin writing my first pre-trip report for this trip since the wait has been :hourglass soooooooo long. I have a feeling that you understand. ;)

When are you and your BF going to be there in December? What do you plan to do while you're there? We are so excited about going to MVMCP and seeing the Osbourne Lights at the MK. I have seen the show of holidays version of the Travel channel's show on WDW so often in the past, that I can't wait to visit all the resorts and see the decorations for myself. :santa:

I look forward to enjoying this trip planning time with another fellow Disney fan. Keep the posts coming! :goodvibes

As for DVC, its not for everyone. But, for us it was the right choice. We like to visit Disney a lot and by purchasing into DVC we were guaranteed a place to stay for the next 48 years. We are not value resort people that may have changed when we have children but for now, we like the moderates and we would like to stay deluxe someday.

We will be heading to MCO via jetblue on dec 8 and heading back to long island on Dec 16. Seems like such a long time away.

I TOTALLY cant wait for Osbourne Lights Spectacular. I have also seen all those shows on the travel channel with all the special events.

Right now, im awaiting the December calander of events to come out so I can plan day for day where we will be. We have never made it for the rope drop at any of the parks so its my dream to do it this time around.

Just wanted to follow along... we are another couple going to Disney!

I am so jealous that you'll be there for Xmas..that's my dream. (Maybe next trip!)

Good luck with all of your planning!

This trip will be our first that we don't stay in a value resort. We took the big jump to deluxe, since it's a special occasion. So, I understand how DVC would work.

I'm waiting for the December calendar too. I think they come out about six months ahead of time, so we still have some waiting to do. In the meanwhile, we can plan away, and make adjustments when the calendar is posted.

I've been at rope drops at MK, MGM and Epcot. I may have done one at AK, but I can't remember. They are cool. The best is arriving at Epcot early, because they usually bring out the double decker European looking bus FULL of characters that come off and take pictures with everyone before the park opens. It's VERY cool!
