Love us some Sci-Fi Dine in :) *must try!

First time we went the food was good and the atmosphere fun and we enjoyed it. The second time we enjoyed the atmosphere but my food wasnt the greatest and it was very cold in there. That was in December when they had record low temps lol. It's still fun and I love going there.

Sci Fi was the ADR my kids were most looking forward to. First time to WDW so had no idea how soon I had to book ADR. When I called last week for an ADR at Sci Fi, there was not one reservation available for the whole 2 week period we're going to be there. We are a party of 7, so that might have been one of the problems, but my kids were all so disappointed. Anyone have an idea on the possibility of getting in on a cancellation between now and when we're there the last 2 weeks of August. Should I keep trying?

Walk up 5 minutes before opening, we were accommodated twice in the past year. You may not be seated in a car... you may get a picnic table. That's what we got last August.

I was there during Spring Break w/ my son and his friends (13 & 14 y/o) .... I asked for them to make an exception and give us a car, as the boys had never been there before. They really wanted the car, and the hostess was very accommodating. They were thrilled.

I also walked up to Le Cellier 10 minutes before opening (Dinner seating) and was seated within 15 minutes.

I have been turned away before , but it's worth a try!

Good Luck.

I have to say we love it too. Tried to get in a few weeks ago and they were totally booked. The last day of our upcoming trip we have about 3 hours to spend in a park and will be doing the Studios. Doing our fav rides, then a stop at Sci Fi for lunch before heading to MCO.

Every time we have gone to WDW we have wanted to go there. ADR's were made and for one reason or another we never made it. This year, I made the ADR for lunch at 11:35 on our departure day. Our flight doesn't leave until 7:30 so no reason why we can't make it. I am really looking forward to it.

I agree! We put off going there for so many years and then one day for lunch they had an open ADR, so we decided to give it a try. It will now be a must do every trip! We just got burgers and shakes & onion rings to share and it was good. No, not the best burger ever but the atmosphere and movie screen was just fun!

We will be trying Sci Fi for the first time in November. We're vegetarians and dh and I want to try the tofu dish. The kids are 6, 4 and 2. Can they all sit together in the front?

Glad to hear you enjoyed Sci Fi just as much as we did!! I LOVE this place a lot. The atmosphere cant be beat. The food might not be gourmet, but its a drive in! I found the food to be quite tasty. The ribs were delish and not fatty at all. burgers are great, so are the shakes. cant wait to go back!

Yes your kids will have plenty of room to sit together in one row. :)

I was leery of sci-fi but I had already made an ADR for it, but when we dined at it last Tuesday all four of us LOVED it! The atmosphere was great and we all really loved our food, including my dad who got the tofu dish.

We love Sci-Fi! My kids love the movie clips they show, and it's nice and dark and cool there. Last time we went we were on the dining plan and DS got the steak and said it wasn't bad. This we don't have the dining plan, so I don't know what we're going to get, but I made ADRs and we're going again.

I'm sure some won't agree, but I don't much care. ;)
I Just had to say - if you're considering going to Sci-Fi and haven't before, do it. No, the food is NOT anything spectacular (though the milk shakes are ;) ) but the atmosphere cannot be found anywhere else. My DS6 & DH beg and beg to go back every year. DS loves it so much he even asked for a Sci-Fi Dine-In shirt this year....lol. A must try for Everyone!! I don't let any of my friends go to DHS and NOT try Sci-Fi. I'm pretty sure we won't ever get to try another TS at DHS because we always only spend one day there, and Sci-Fi is always a must. Try it!

:goodvibes

I agree 100%!!! Milkshakes are awesome and those old Sci-Fi films are hilarious!! Reminds me of watching TV at my grandparents house as a kid.

Definately keep trying. When we were there last Christmas it was one of the busiest restaurants we saw at Disney. They were so busy and backed up the afternoon we were there they weren't taking any walk-up traffic at all, only reservations. Even with a reservation we had to wait. But we really enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed the movie clips more than my son...lol

We LOVED eating here and can't wait to take the boys here in a less than two years. :cool1: The food was good but we really liked the atmosphere.
