I'm sure some won't agree, but I don't much care. ;)
I Just had to say - if you're considering going to Sci-Fi and haven't before, do it. No, the food is NOT anything spectacular (though the milk shakes are ;) ) but the atmosphere cannot be found anywhere else. My DS6 & DH beg and beg to go back every year. DS loves it so much he even asked for a Sci-Fi Dine-In shirt this year....lol. A must try for Everyone!! I don't let any of my friends go to DHS and NOT try Sci-Fi. I'm pretty sure we won't ever get to try another TS at DHS because we always only spend one day there, and Sci-Fi is always a must. Try it!

:goodvibes

i feel the same way, we ate thier on our first night last year and i loved it!! i can't wait to show the rest of my family this sept!

We are trying Sci-Fi for the first time in December, mostly for DS because I think he would enjoy it but this is good to hear since I have heard mainly bad reviews so thank you! :thumbsup2

It is one of the only non-counter services restaurants that we "must do" every trip. Like you say, the food isn't all that special (not bad, but not great), but the atmosphere is just so incredible that we simply can't go to DHS and not eat lunch there.

We enjoy it for lunch on a hot day. The cheeseburgers and reubens are fine.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This is a must-do for my daughter. When I took my son and 2 of his friends to Disney , they loved it. Stick to the burgers and Ruben and you will be fine.

I agree-the atmosphere is so fun! Sit in the back with your DH and give him a kiss! We go everytime regards of everytime I say "I don't want to go back". The kids love it!

I love their Burger with fires and a shake! So yummy!!

If we are on the dinning plan, can we have a milkshake on the plan? Im already getting a bit "full" of soda!!! LOL :lmao:

We always do Sci-Fi and love it. I especially like the ribs they are great.

If I remember correctly from past experience, they can count the milkshake as your dessert but still bring it to you at the beginning of your meal. We had a server who suggested it and then gave us bottles of water to take with us as our non alcoholic beverage that we were entitled to on the dining plan. But not all the servers are aware they can do this. We had another server that we mentioned it to and she had to go ask someone else to verify. Then she came back and said they could do it. So it doesn't hurt to ask!

It's a must do every trip for my family too. I think the ribs are good along w/ the burgers & my DH loves the pb choc. cake for dessert.:)
Going again in August :woohoo:

Sci-Fi is also one of our favorites! My kids LOVE it!! The atmosphere can't be beat. I tell everyone I know to try it. You can't base your vacation on someone elses reviews. Everyone is different. We've been to places twice or more and experience is always different.

You can get a milkshake as your drink or your dessert or if you wish both. My dd27 did on her last trip with dd7 - she got a milkshake as her drink and dd7 pretty much took it and drank it. She had another as her dessert.

I took the kids here for the first time recently and they loved it! If you're looking for an alternative to burgers, try the seared marinated tofu. It's really good and you get a huge portion!

Totally agree!:thumbsup2 Everyone's taste are different. It's just like movie reviews. You never know until you try it.

My family absolutely LOVES Sci Fi! We always go for the last lunch reservation time so we can get the lunch prices but can count it as dinner. Then save room for a smores dessert later at 50's Prime Time. :lovestruc

I loved the milkshake:lovestruc and the burger I had was very good. DS thought it was cool to be sitting in the cars eating. It really was a good experience.

Sci Fi was the ADR my kids were most looking forward to. First time to WDW so had no idea how soon I had to book ADR. When I called last week for an ADR at Sci Fi, there was not one reservation available for the whole 2 week period we're going to be there. We are a party of 7, so that might have been one of the problems, but my kids were all so disappointed. Anyone have an idea on the possibility of getting in on a cancellation between now and when we're there the last 2 weeks of August. Should I keep trying?
