:lmao: Just thought I'd share a laugh!!! I was 10 in 1984 and boy do I remember all of this!

I loved the 80's as you can see from my tag, I was very much into Valley Girl talk. I was 16 in 1984. My DD9 watches reruns of Fresh Prince and I tell her he's my age, then she has started with the What You Talkin About thing that she copied off of Hannah Montana, so I tell she just copied from a show a long tim ago.

DH and I were just lamenting the sad state of Saturday morning cartoons the other day. My lil brothers and I used to fight over watching toons every Saturday. Those were the days. :upsidedow

I'm a little older, so my 80's memories are a little blurred (college)....but I used to spray paint electric blue in my hair and wore electric blue eyeliner, mascara and shadow. I also wore my hair BIG and over one eye.

Like, I totally loved the 80's!

I still say "I know you are, but what am I?" and will say to my boys "What you talkin' about Willis?" as they roll their eyes at me!

My 20 year reunion is coming up in August. I can't believe it!!!!! Maybe I should wear a flourescent shirt, pegged Jordache jeans, banana clip and jelly shoes?

I miss the 80s. I was also 10 in 1984...that was a great year...

Now, the 90s, I don't remember a darn thing about that decade.

I would have been 23 in 1984, so my memories are more related to the great dance music and club scenes, the fabulous intrest rates(over 5% on checking accounts), and the scariness of herpes and AIDS!

I was so bummed recently when my 16 year old neighbor girl called me and asked for help dressing up for "80's Day" at school!

Me: 80's day? You mean, like 50's day?

Her: Yes, but for the EIGHTIES!

ACK! :rotfl:

I thought she looked super cute in her oversize sweatshirt (belted at the waist, of course), leggins, neon pink socks, flats and side ponytail. Not to mention the big plastic earrings, necklace and tons of bangle bracelets. She thought she looked like an idiot and kept threatening to change her clothes if none of her friends dressed up as well!!

When did MY era become a dress up day for school?? That is just not right!

I love the 80's, I graduated high school in 1989 and our class thought it was so cool to be the last graduating class of the 80's, how corny is that. I love when the radio has all 80's songs playing, I never get tired of listening to the songs they play and still know all the words to just about every song. Ahhhh the good ole days, good times they were.

I was so totally a child of the 80's. Born in 1980. And I remember all of that. It's crazy.

OK, I have to be a bit nit-picky:

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word SIKE.

I am pretty sure it is "psyche" not sike.

15. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

Until they added Sassette.

28. You thought Doogie Howser/Samantha Micelli was hot.
Or Ricky Schroder! [I was 10 in 1984, so I think Doogie was a little young for me as far as a crush goes. ANd he always looked so much younger than his actual age - it was that tiny smooshed face, I think].

32. You know all the words to Bon Jovi - SHOT THROUGH THE HEART.

Isn't it "You Give Love a Bad Name" and not "Shot Through the Heart"?

Thanks for the memories!!!!!!!

LOVED THE 80!!!:cool1: (See my tag in regards to #6 above!)

I graduated from HS in 85, so I was right in the middle of it. I was into the Valley Girl talk too! We got in trouble for saying "bi*chin" in driver's ed class. I don't think our teacher ever believed it wasn't a bad word!!(Man, even the DIS thinks it's a bad word!! )

I must be too old.
I thought the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was a 90's thing.

28. You thought Doogie Howser/Samantha Micelli was hot.

Although I had to sadly nod my head for almost all of these, I think this one is the most retrospectively disturbing.
