LOVE or HATE FP+ Anyone's mind been changed ??

"People who are unhappy and leave may very well be replaced by others who either don't know differently or just don't care."

Or who like the system and are satisfied with what it does for them. Really this idea that you like fp+ because you don't know any better should've gone on my list of things that are insulting and dismissive.

Universal has nothing to do with this conversation in my opinion. If you would like to bring it in no problem. We can compare Disney to a park that is growing attendance at a much faster rate and has shown what building new attractions at regular intervals can accomplish!

I'd love to forever ban the comparisons between Universal and Disney, but since it's constantly brought up by people who don't like FP+ when it suits their purpose, it's fair game to bring it up when it doesn't.

I don't see where anyone (aside from your own hyperbole) drew the conclusion or even suggested that you only like FP+ if you don't know any better.

Since you consider a comparison to be "fair game":

Universal's prices went up as well. I see no one complaining here when the same one day ticket is nearly identical and when you add in their pricey pass, it's much more. Plus, they force you to buy tickets to both parks to fully enjoy the biggest draw in the park- yet no one complains about that either, so don't use the price increase as a reason to call them money hungry.

That's an interesting - and I think true - observation. Could it be no one is complaining about the price because they feel, for the most part, they receive sufficient value for that price? And they don't have to buy that pricey pass, it's an option, yet many of them do pay extra for it which seems to indicate they feel it's worth it. And thus, as you stated, no complaints.

Perhaps there's a reason you don't see it- but the notion that new people only like FP plus because they don't any better has been floated on this forum for a long time- nothing new.

And if it isn't because you don't know better then it's because you're getting less and just don't care.

The possibility that someone might try it and find out it works isn't even considered.

Btw- when I said no one- I meant I never hear those who complain about Disney's price hike complain about the Universal price increase. I don't think it's just coincidence and I don't think it's because Universal is such a great bargain.

.
Or it could be that some people who don't like what Disney has done use every excuse they can come up with to complain. These are die hard ex-Disney fans who resent having their playground disturbed. I don't like Universal- I think being forced to pay for both parks to fully enjoy the Potter stuff is a ripoff, but I don't flood the Universal boards complaining. I just don't go.

I'm sure if I didn't see it, there would certainly be a reason why so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

But now you've reduced "the idea" to a "notion" that has been floated, reworded it to include a new rationale that wasn't even part of PG's comment, and summarized with the possibility that someone might try it and find out it works isn't even considered, which I don't believe is true either.

Devil's Advocate: Wouldn't it be equally insulting and dismissive to tell someone who didn't like FP+ it was because they don't know any better?

I don't think there is any reason to feel insulted or dismissed based on your own supposition.

If that's the case, then I could certainly understand why the die-hard Disney fans would resent having their playground criticized.

When one says "replaced by people who don't know better or just don't care"--I imagine she was quoting without using the quote feature rather than rephrasing to suit her commentary agenda. So going with that...

How is it hyperbole to actually comment on the actual words said unless the actual words in and of themselves were hyperbole? And then if it was hyperbole originally, then there is no point to be made other than an exaggeration of reality was made.

But can you tell the difference between that person and the one who observes that the disturbance isn't all that much if a disturbance because of what they experienced?

Or is there too much bias to objectively observe that?

Exactly Lisa, I was on my phone and it's just easier not to try and use the quote feature.

I think bias plays a large part in all of it, for sure.

I was referring to this statement:

Yet I don't think there is an unlimited supply of new less-educated or pollyannaish guests to support that attendance growth for years to come.

So one poster thinks the replacement guest just doesn't care or doesn't know any better and you think the replacement guests are less educated or pollyannaish.

And you complain about being insulted? How do you characterize the guest who has gone on and off for decades, used no fp, paper fp, fp+ and of them all, far prefers FP+? If a newbie is just dumb, absurdly optimistic or an wide eye innocent, what is the seasoned WDW guest who likes it?

Everyone has an opinion and I don't think the statement that the sole focus is making money is true- although even if it was, making money is achieved by making a product people want and delivering it in a satisfactory manner. So far, there's no sign they were wrong. Yes, it has cut back some guests abilities and enhanced others, just as paper fp did.

Time will tell if you're right, so far you are not. But again, constantly saying the same thing over and over and over again doesn't change a thing.
Again I have no need to compare universal. If you would like to we can bring it in to the equation. You chastise me for bringing up the same things. You should have a good look in the mirror! It is even more ridiculous to say price increases once or twice per year isn't because a company is money hungry.

I see nothing wrong with the price increases. Disney and Universal both should charge what the market will bear. What's ridiculous is to think they should underprice just to be nice I suppose. They're a business- if people are willing to pay it, they will and should raise their prices.

I see the collation between universal and Disney uptake in guest. So not comparing them would be silly. If universal builds a new attraction, like HP then crowded volume for Disney may go up too. Which if you look at the increase after HP, then yes Universal has impacted Disney s crowds. Longer lines and less fp+ to go around. etc.

Higher demand, higher prices. economics 101.

Do you know of a corp that isn't money hungry.

Did you miss the part where I said "just don't care"? People won't care because they are fine with the way things are. They either like what is happening so they don't care about the change or they feel no particular preference.

If you want to feel insulted, go right ahead but don't pick and choose portions of sentences to get in that frame of mind.
