Aloha!

I'm getting ready to go to disneyland feb 1-5 with my life long friend/now boyfriend and we were wondering what to expect, neither of us have been to disneyland during feb (i've only been in the summer/fall months) and didn't know how the crowds, weather, or park is during that time?

will there be valentines day items (he has promised me a stitch from my stitch ((my bfs bday is june 26th xD)) when we go) and pins? or any sort of ears? or are those only out ON valentines day?

we are going with a group of friends and are looking for the cheapest way to go for the days we are there... what are some good resturants that are cheap yet good, and what are some easy ways to save cash for us poor college students?

any help would be great! Mahalo!

Fun!

Your best bet is to read, read, read the boards! Honestly, there is such a huge wealth of information here. Answers to most of your questions can be found just 1-2 pages back!

I believe I read on here that V-Day stuff has been seen in the parks already.:lovestruc

yea! I've already seen so much here on the forums... altho i've been a lurker for quite some time :)

and that makes me happy! I had called disneyland a few days ago due to an error in the spelling of my name on some mouse ears they shipped me and the girl didn't know too much about any v-day stuff as of yet...

so that is a good thing to hear! :D :lovestruc

Welcome out of lurking!

How sweet your story is. Yes, there are Valentine's Day items. You will find things through the various shops in the park to pick from.

There are stitch items everywhere. He is very popular.

You asked about inexpensive ways to make it through your day. On great tip I will give you is to either share meals or order kids' meals. Also, refill your water bottles throughout the day.

The weather could be a little "iffy" as February is part of our rainy time (as small of a time that may be!). Check the weather reports as your trip gets closer.

I hope this helps,
Dreams

hahaha :D yes kids meals have always been one of our things to do... since i dont look 19 i usually order off the kiddie menu (get some cool cups that way too! lol like from blue bayou) because its cheaper and i only look like i'm 12 :p
do all the restraunts have a kids menu?

i know stitch is popular, but do you think he will be for v-day? and his character is only in the CA section of disney right? i'm not quite sure if we're doing a hopper or not...

hehe feb can't come soon enough I am so excited!

Anyone can buy a kid's meal. You don't have to say a thing about who it is for or your own age. :) I am a long way from looking 12 and have no children. I have ordered a kid's meal several times. They might care at the Blue Bayou, so I wouldn't do it there, but I was referring more to the counter service and buffeteria-style restaurants. Almost all of the restaurants have an item or 2 that are "kids menu."

Stitch items are everywhere, not just in DCA. Pins, hats, clothes, and on and on and on.

Excited for you,
Dreams

ahh okay :)

and i know stitch items are everywhere, i meant the Character stitch, I have only ever seen him over in DCA and thats who i really want to see being my man shares the same #s and stitch... i think it would make a cute photo :3 so if he is only in DCA i need to find out if we are doing a hopper pass or not

I know there is (or at least was?) a character breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel that has Lilo and Stitch. You could check that out and see if it's a better choice than to buy park hoppers.

And, June 26th, 626, hehe, I get it now! Yes, that would be cute.

Check out the breakfast, compare pricing, etc.... You can make it work if you get creative and plan ahead. :goodvibes

This might help with pins.

If if is no good link, go to disneypins.com, put "valentine" in the search box, and then change the view to Release Date: New to Old.

I am not sure if I've ever seen Stitch in DCA, but we definitely saw him at the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast at PPH.

He was at the Sunwheel at DCA, hmm, when was that? Idk, couple weeks ago when I was at DCA very briefly for some reason. :confused3 (Is it good or bad when the visits blur together? :upsidedow

Anywho, I know he was there, with a line of people waiting their turn for a picture.

ETA: It was December 23rd. afternoon-ish! I was picking up a final few Christmas gifts! Phew, that was bugging me...... LOL

We have never seen Stitch at DCA, but I know he's there.

OP, if you can do the Aloha Breakfast at PPH. We've done it 5+ times and we love it. DBF is a GIANT Stitch fan and he love love loves it. The food is fantastic and there are a lot of characters besides Stitch. We've also seen Lilo, Max, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, and Daisy.

We might be going the same weekend you are. We were thinking of going Valentine's Day weekend, but it's probably going to be a little busier than normal and we might be taking DBF's brothers.

how much extra does the Aloha Breakfast cost? I think we were all planning one big restraunt with all 22 people (we have a huge group going lol) but for me and him to just go to... i remember my first trip to disney we did the character breakfast and i loved it, so to have one with lilo and stitch would be great!

and Bumber- Thanks for the site! I actually found a really cute Stitch & Angel v-day pin from the hong kong disneyland that I ordered online, it was too cute!

:D I am so excited! and you all are so helpful, i have been on other forums and they were very rule happy about sharing your photos and asking questions because it "too much personal info".

You might want to buy your tickets online, you can get in for the price of kids; plus, since you mentioned you will be going back in the summer, you might want to think about upgrading your tickets to an AP.
Lots of great ideas on how to save $$$$ have been posted on threads here.
Hope you have a great time.
:)

Good gravy, what site is THAT?

You can order online from HK? Cool! Be sure to get a locking pin back baggie once you're at DL, if you're going to wear it there. And be prepared for lots of pin traders asking about it. I got a HK pin for hubby...it's a Mickey head with yin yang design...and he is begged to trade just about every day.

One good thing to keep in mind regarding the Stitch breakfast at the PPH is that there is the choice to either order ala carte off a menu or order the buffet.

Since my DH is not a big breakfast eater we like that he can order something small and just pay for what he eats rather than paying $25-35 for the buffet when all he has is coffee and some oatmeal!

So, you can have the great (and guaranteed) interactions with Stitch, but also control your cost too!

oh wow! thats really great to know, i'm not much of a breakfast person either but my man eats enough for both of us!! LOL....

and i actually ordered it on ebay... ive found quite a few different HKDL pins on there :) they have WAY cute stuff that i wish we would get here

I usually only take pins that are doubles, i get them from family and friends and have quite a collection to take with me each time I go (but i only get to go every 5-6years) and surfin stitch gets one pin to wear that is never tradeable... and everyone seems to be cool with it when i tell them the story of him :)

If you look on ebay some more they have a lot of very cute Stitch and Angel things, stuffed animals and such. Some of it can be a little pricey since it's coming from the HK DL.

yea ive seen that... a set of stuffies is $60!! plus $20 shipping!! LOL.. a little too much out of my pocket book, i am just a poor college student, thats why we are trying to figure out cheap ways to go...

We have decided to bring in our own lunches and have one breakfast and one dinner in the park as a couple, then one dinner with the group of 22 to hopefully cut down costs. I am trying to NOT spend alot in DLR this time... when i went in oct of 07 I spend quite a fortune on pins for some VMK items... i ended up trading them off in the end xD And since iwas with another family i had to pay for everything I wanted/ate... even if I didn't want breakfast it was ordered and i was to pay for it... lol. worst disney trip ever.. i cried there.
But this year should be great :) this is my first parent & sibling free trip as a legal adult and the people I am going with have been my best friends since 3rd grade :) we're now all sophmores in college that didn't get a seinor trip...

Angel doesn't happen to be out DCA would she? I know her and Leroy are both out in HKDL and would LOVE LOVE LOVE if she was out for v-day! i hear Eric (along with the other princes) are usually only out on that day

I never EVER have seen any Angel stuff in DLR. Or Leroy. Just Stitch. And Lilo. I don't even know if our DLR has a costume for her? That would be super amazing if she ever came out. She is just too cute.

DBF and I took our first trip together sans parents when we were 19 too. We've been going regularly ever since and I'm 21 now and he's 22!
