Hey all, wanted to join in and let everyone know about how our dining went. We are two 34 yr olds, my 60-ish mother-in-law, a VERY picky 5 yr old (how many nuggets can one kid eat????) and a 21 month old who'll eat pretty much anything. We LOVE to eat and eat well. We're not food snobs, but I couldn't imagine a whole week of counter service, which is why I am a fan of the dining plan! I haven't added up the receipts, but I"m sure we came out at least even. Most of our TS's were at least $100, so they came REAL close to paying for the day's cost of the DDP.

Here's where we ate:

Day of arrival. Flight bumped back twice, had to reroute because of storms, waited in line for Magical Express for FOREVER. Arrived at 3pm at POP after leaving our house about 9 hours earlier. Decided to skip lunch and head over to Epcot for our dinner ressie. Biergarten was fabulous as usual. We actually got sat with someone who was from the same area. Her mother was my SIL's colllege art professor! What a riot!! Buffett was yummy as usual, service was good, entertainment was great!

Day 2: Breakfast at Tusker House in AK. This was awesome. We had loved Breakfastasaurus, and I think this was very similar in food and entertainment. The jungle juice was incredible!!! My kids just aren't big character fans. The baby just absolutely LIT UP when he saw MI-MOW
(Mickey Mouse in baby talk), but if they came near, he was out hovering over that high chair so fast to get to mom or dad...after a long exhausting day at AK (they actually ran out of EE fast passes), we had dinner (LOVE the
greek salad) back at POP. ***The only complaint I have so far is the kids chicken nuggets-they're flat and tough for the little one. Even Mr Nugget himself wasn't real impressed.

Days 3-10 later. Coming up...Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Ohana, 50's Diner and more...

Great start...can't wait to read more. We will be doing LeCellier (again) and Whispering Canyon Cafe on our trip.

Day 3-Disney Studios (am I the only one who still has hard time NOT calling it MGM). Got some cereal for the kids and me and DH split the breakfast burrito and potatos...I LOVE this meal. Cheese, bacon and eggs in the tortilla. YUM! Lunch was Toy Story Pizza Planner. That place is a MADHOUSE! The grown ups got veggie pizza's and salad, boys split a cheese pizza. They are GREASY but GOOD! Very big and filling. Split a sugar cookie (so-so), choc chip cookie (ooey gooey) and two rice crispie chocolate mickeys (my fave)! Of course DH had to play some games...who's the kid here??? After lunch drug the 5yr old kicking and screaming to Muppets 3D (I DON"T WANNA SEE IT!!!) Of course he loved it after he saw it...isn't there a rule that there's NO WHINING AT DISNEY?????

Dinner was at the 50's Prime Time Diner. We hadn't eaten here since 2000 and we thought the kids and MIL would enjoy it. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a 530 ressie. Our waiter was from Morocco and initially seemed a little cold (and not in a fun way). We warmed up later and got us all into it. The baby was being "difficult" and got his high chair turned around to be in time out. Another waitress would scream at him whenever he would get loud. It was HYSTERICAL! Shut him right up!!! For the meal-DH had fried chicken which he said was good (he's not a big fried food kinda guy), me and MIL both had the pot roast. It was a little strange looking because it has the celery and carrots shredded and on top, but WOW, this was the best, most flavorful pot roast piled on mashed potatoes. It was awesome. Me and DS shared a chocolate milk shake (only so-so). The baby loved the chicken noodle soup served as an childs appetizer, and the 5yr old had...can you guess...nuggets!

Day 4 This was our "OFF" day. We swam, hung around the resort. Had food court lunch-actually got the boys an adult chicken tender which is SO much better, me and MIL bought two slices of bread each (for like .65) and got peanut butter and jelly for FREE in the condiment area, split a bag of chips and a CHOCOLATE CHIP CROISSANT (OMG THIS WAS GOOD!!!!!).

Dinner was OHANA. We've done this three times now. The meats were beyond good, the sides were all awesome (DH LOVES the honey BBQ wings). I definitely miss the potatoes, but everything was still great! The best part? The kids SLEPT thru the entire meal. It wasn't crowded yet and they let us wheel our big mama double jogging stroller up to the table and we enjoyed the most scrumptious and PEACEFUL meal I can remember in a LONG time. My DH has the hots for the lady who runs the activities (she is gorgeous, I admit it), and the Polynesian is beautiful to walk around and take pix.

That's all for now, kids whining (I guess it's allowed since we're not at Disney anymore for the "no whining" rule...must brush teeth and get them to bed!

that must have been funny at 50s - the waitress turning the baby's high chair around for a "time out"!
