Love bugs worse at some resorts?

Hi,
We stayed at the beach club in September and the love bugs were horrible but a friend stayed at the boardwalk in may and didn't think they were much of a nuisance. I didn't notice them as much in the parks as I did waiting for the buses so I thought maybe something about the flowers or plants at the beach club attracted more of them. We're planning a trip next year in mid may (11-16) and I was wondering whether they'd still be bad at that time and whether we'd be better off at boardwalk than beach club. Any insights? Thanks.

Last September was horrible for love bugs - the train station steps at the MK were literally covered with dead and dying ones. We have been other Septembers and not had nearly the issue with them. I think it is just the luck of the draw and maybe this May just wasn't as bad- am hoping this September will not be a repeat of last year. We were at OKW and they were bad everywhere there also.

They were bad the first part of June this year, but seemed to die off the second week. They were everywhere. I guess the smoke from the fires concentrated them near WDW.

Last year we left WDW on the 29th and they were still out in large numbers. I do think the reports are that they leave early October so at least maybe there will be fewer of them.

I think this is just perception. I was at the Boardwalk in Sept 2000 (although not staying there) and I remember them being EVERYWHERE. In fact I remember them more on the Boardwalk section near the lake than anywhere else on the trip. I do not think they care what kid of flowers are around since they are finished feeding and are mating. I don't think it matters where you stay. If you do not like them, do not go in May or September.

We were at SSR over Memorial Day Weekend and I felt like I was being attached by those darn love bugs - tried laying by the pool and they were every where! I've heard they're bad in May and September.

If the LOVE BUGS are going to be around that much shouldn't they pay MFs.

I have been told that they are attracted to white objects. The tables out at SAB have a white rim and thus the reason they were all over the place last September. Someone actually posted a video of them on youtube.com.

Gosh I hope we don't run into them. Arriving on Aug. 15th and departing on the 23rd.

We were at the Wilderness Lodge last year May and they were pretty bad there. My poor DD has a bug phobia and waiting for the boat to MK was an excruciating experience for her.

They are little buggers though and definitely not the smartest bugs either.
