1) let em say if this is not in the right section please move, thank you very much

2) Back Story

We had a trip planned for Jan '10, but my 1st grader has test the week we were planning on going so we had to cancel our trip BLT BYE BYE BOO HOO. But we reschedule for presidents weekend 2/10 - 2/16 YIPPY back at our home SSR. NO harm big FOUL when will I ever be able to get back in BLT 2016 MAYBE :rotfl: So this got us thinking, with our oldest DD5 in 1st grade and our middle DD2 turn 3 we our going to have to start confirming to the school year more and more BOO HOO. CROWDS CROWDS CROWDS.

This made fact made us look at the school schedule and found that school will not start till after Labor day again in 2010. SO  how about a trip to the world the last week of August 1st week of Sept. always heard it was a great time to go, if you can deal with the heat and storms. We are earlier risers, always see the opening shows. NO problem, parks early morning early after noon, pool, nap, thunder storm, back to the parks. We are waiting till we come back in Feb to schedule our next trip

3) NOW FOR THE QUESTION

a)LOVE BUGS, are they out at this time of year or is it too early in September? I am asking cause my DD5 lets call her DD6 hates all bugs and will throw a fit and not leave the room if they are out. Any info would be great thanks

b) Crowd levels, any experiences welcomed

Thanks

Seems like from posts I've read recently that the lovebugs are really starting to appear now..but not too badly!

The end of August should be fine!

I was there from 9/10-9/15 and saw only 1 "pair" while we were there. However, I was there a few years ago around I think the same time, and it was terrible. I mean, Disney does there best to try to control it (still pretty bad though), but we went to the Walmart, and the ENTIRE garbage can outside the store was completely covered where you could barely see any paint!

The love bugs come out twice a year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovebug will tell you everything you need to know.

"The spring flight occurs during late April and May, the summer during late August and September. Flights extend over periods of four to five weeks."

I have seen lovebugs out in Early June before. Their flights each year can drift enough that it's really impossible to say when they'll start on any given year. It sounds like a Labor Day late August/early September trip will be smack in the middle of the love bug season.

This year they are very late. I went Sept 9-13 and didn't see a single one.

Love bug visits vary each year depending on the amount of rainfall that year and the temperature. Not sure about FL but here in MS they just peaked last week which is a little late for us. Not sure how you would find out other than to call before your stay but then it would be too late to change your reservations too if that was your intent. We had to leave windows and doors open after Hurricane Katrina (no electricity) and we found love bugs for weeks after in places I didn't know they could get into!! You get used to it. Just make sure you clean them off your car or they will take the paint off! Seriously!!!

Living here in Orlando, I have only seen one pair of love bugs this season so far. We should be coming to the end of the love bug season, so maybe, just maybe, we will not have to deal with them this fall. Fingers crossed.

Not sure about the love bugs but the dining will need to be planned. You are giong during the free dining perios and you will find it busy. we were there this year from 8/20-8/29 and it was difficult to get restaurant reservations.
