Love bug news

My parents just drove back from south of Orlando to the Panhandle. They encountered love bugs, but not as bad as years before. We are going down in 2 weeks, hoping that they will be gone by then. The best way that we have found to get them off our vehicle is baking soda and water. The baking soda dissolves the acid in the bugs, and releases them from your paint, but you must use this before they get baked on.

How bad are the love bugs getting now? We leave Sunday for a 4 day cruise. There hasn't been an update in several days so just wondering how bad they are now? On the 24th we will be heading to Disney World for a few days after the cruise. Any chance of them being gone by then?

We were at MK last Friday and they were out in full force. My daughter was having a fit and smashing them with her shoe.

I was wondering the same thing. We leave for Florida next week Wednesday. I'm so hoping they are either gone or not as bad as I'm anticipating. I'm hoping we get to enjoy Orlando before and after our cruise. It would stink to have to stay indoors for the extra days we're there because my 10 & 13 yr old daughters would have spazz attacks ........yep 10 & 13.

Another way to get the bugs off easier to put some Vasaline on the front of the car before you start your trip. With that on the bugs come off easily when sprayed from a hose.

We saw some on the windshield of the bus on the way from MCO to PC on 5/5. Didn't notice any on the decks through 5/12. And didn't notice many on the windshield back to the airport 5/12. Maybe they've all had fights with their mates...
