I tend to like BCV better because there are more comfy lounge areas where one can sit and read a book or just people watch. Maybe I haven't found the lounge/sitting room areas at the BWV.....does anyone know if there are some hiding that I'm not aware of?

Unfortunately for me, our next trip will be at the BWV.......so I'll be missing my cozy Beach Club lounge areas. *pitiful sigh* LOL

at BWV we always sit in the BELLE VUE lounge when the bar isn't open and even when it is. It also hws a large balcony too.

I always thought the rocking chairs on the BWV verandahs were meant for lazy afternoon bookreading/people watching.

I've enjoyed the rocking chairs at BWV. I have to try the BelleVue lounge, but I agree with you that BCV has more quiet areas that I've found to use.
But I have found that I don't go off to relax as much in either of them as I do at VWL.

The quiet rooms are one of the things I love best about BCV. I often get up early in the morning before DH and DD are up and go down to the Solarium or the Drawing Room with a book or postcards to write and a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. The other resorts we've stayed in just seem to have lobby areas, which tend to be busy and not as "homey" feeling.

Thanks so much for your comments. I thought maybe I was just not meandering around enough to find the lounge areas at the Boardwalk.......now I know it's not me! LOL

We haven't tried the other DVC's but maybe we need to for those times I want more off time than park touring time. :)

The BelleVue Lounge is wonderful. In the morning they have coffee and pastries and wonderful comfy chairs. We spent a couple of hours there waiting for our room to be ready on our last trip. We witnessed the tv announcement of the new (can't remember her name) head of WDW theme parks. It was very exciting....probably why I can't remember her name LOL!!

another vote for the Bellvue! ;)

A visit to the Boardwalk always includes a stop at the Bellvue Lounge. Ok..... usually a few stops!

The Bellvue has been a great meeting place for when I have met other DVCers. Cozy and quiet! :goodvibes

Those cozy spots, as well as the quick food area at BC, are the things I like most about BCV. I really wish that BWV had similar spots. I love sitting on the porch in a rocking chair, but sometimes the weather just doesn't lend itself to that, so a nice cozy sitting room would be wonderful. Here's hoping that sometime, down the road, BW puts in some similar facilities....grab and go food area, a nice, cozy sitting area with lots of windows.

The trade off is that there is a nice community hall at BWV, this doesn't exist at BCV. Since my kids spend so much time at the community hall at SSR, I don't think I would consider owning at a resort that doesn't have one.

Very good point. What people really need to understand (when comparing BWV to BCV) is that while BWV was build from the ground up as a DVC resort, BWV was an "appendage" to an existing hotel.

Because of that, Disney didn't have as much flexibility in designing BCV (primarly due to the limited space available, which in turn was a function of the fact that the Yacht Club uses up a lot of space on a large conference area), and ended up "cutting back" on spaces that are standard at other almost all other DVC resorts. Not only does BCV have no community hall, it also offers no grand villas. Also, all the "cozy" lounge spots at BVC that have been mentioned are ones that are part of the original Yacht/Beach Club property and were not spaces built specifically for DVC.
