I love both chinese and japanese food, and I have room for a CS restaurant for lunch during my day at Epcot. Which do you like better?

We ate at the Japan CS twice and both time is was nasty fatty greasy dark meat..we dubbed the place YUKitori House

Now China we love...the shrimp fried rice and potstickers, the egg rolls and peach oolong ice tea are wonderful!

We have been to both places. Actually, just a few weeks ago! But the real question is: Which do you like better? They are both food court style foods. Do you want orange chicken or a beef bowl at Lotus Blossom? Or beef and chicken with teriyaki sauce and maybe a beef sushi roll? Personally i'd go for more of that orange chix at LBC.

I like Asian cuisine of all types - Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, you name it.

Neither of these is cuisine.

Of the two, the Lotus Blossom is the one I would pick. I do really like the noodle soup, and there are a couple of other things on their menu that are pretty good. The proximity of the plum-wine slushies is a plus too.

Yakitori House is a no-go. If it was the only place open in the whole park, I would walk to the vending machines out by the bus zone.

Funny, I planned to write a similar response about Lotus Blossom. I will never return there. I cannot think of another restaurant on property about which I could honestly say that.

Granted, I don't mean for my post to praise Yakitori House, but I suppose I consider the lesser of two evils.

Especially on the intestines.

I go to Tokyo about once a year. I love Japanese curry (much different than Indian or British curry), so whenever I visit Epcot, I look forward to getting my Japanese Curry fix at Yakitori House... I haven't been to the new China Restaurant, but I remember the old one serving Americanized Chinese food...

Hmmmm...here at home I prefer Chinese food.
At WDW, I prefer Yakatori House to Lotus Blossom.
The kids (adults), two of which are really into Japanese Steak Houses at home, preferred the Lotus Blossom.
Go figure?! =0)

FYI...It's pretty easy to make Japanese curry rice at home. You can buy a box of the curry roux at Walmart, SuperTarget, etc. The brand names are S&B Golden Curry and House. The directions are in English, and it's super easy to cook.
I'm 1/2 Japanese and grew up eating the stuff. Yum. :)

How about both?

One of our favorites at Epcot is to get entrees at several places. Sample and share.

Oh - and after or between the two Asian places, try another country for dessert. you can hop into Germany for chocolate cake or a pretzel, or skip over to Norway for all kinds of tasty treats.

We have the whole thing down to science. WE don't relaly plan ahead, but we basically have an idea of the kinds of foods we lke. one person goes ahead to order a few thigns to try, while the other hits the restroom or finishes up inthe gift shop.

Then you swap at the second location. Everyone is happy, and it really takes only slighlty longer than making one stop.

Of course you can also carry food between countries, but Japan to China is probably a little far.

Oh, and while you are making quick stops...sampling around the world, consider sampling unique beverages (adult or otherwise) in different locations as well - ESPECIALLY if you willbe there during the F&W festival.

Orange chicken is amazing, so i'll probably go there!

Wow, Yakatori is really taking a beating here! Unfounded, in my opinion. We had the Tempura shrimp with udon noodles and the Tonsonoma combination- both were really good! (and slightly different than the generic eggrolls that you could get at home!)

We were down there last Nov, and we decided to try Lotus Blossom. WORST decision ever!! I had the shrimp fried rice and it was not eatable...cold, it had peas (?) and it seemed that it was days old, just plain disgusting :crazy2:. DH had the orange chicken and he said it was bad too, but not as bad as mine. We are not picky eaters, but we won't going back to that place ever!!! The only good thing about that meal was the strawberry red bean ice cream!
