Lots of Food and some Whine Festival: A 3 generational trip report Oct 2012

After a fun "break" back at the resort we all got washed up and ready for our dinner at 1900 park fare.

Our ADR was for 5:35p so we gave ourselves plenty of travel time and hitched a bus around 4:30p. The boys were starting to whine about being tired so they got a little shut eye on the ride.

We took the bus to Magic Kingdom and then waited for a Ferry to take us to the Grand Floridian.

I just love this picture of Nick while we were waiting for the ferry. It really captures how much fun we all were having.

It was a gorgeous evening.

We had some extra time once we arrived at GF so we took a brief self guided tour of the grounds. We took a moment to snap a family picture.

We had some trouble finding the buffet but the CM's were very helpful to guide us in the right direction. We checked in and were immediately taken to our table. Once we got settled in they made the announcement that Cinderella and Prince Charming were entering the ballroom and would be having their first dance. I was like a 5 year old little girl at this point grinning ear to ear.:rotfl2: Cinderella has always been my favorite princess since I was little. My boys on the other hand were sitting and sulking and whining about being there.

The food was good but I was really there for the character experience. Shortly after our first trip to the buffet my Prince had arrived.

Of course I was disappointed that he went right to my little prince and didnt pay any attention to me.:rotfl2: Maybe that was because my big prince was sitting right next to me.

Prince Charming started to go to the next table and I was like oh wait I would like a pic.:rotfl2:

That was the end for Nick........once he saw cinderella coming he hid under the table and stayed there pretty much until all the characters came by. Unfortunately for Ryan it had drawn all the attention to him which he was so not happy about.

The step sisters just loved him. They are awesome and so funny. I think his shyness just egged them on to be even more obnoxious to him......I loved it.

It was a good thing there werent anymore characters to meet because after this picture Ryan had a meltdown. He started crying and saying "I just want to go" Im sure it was out of embarressment. Poor thing.:rotfl2:

Overall I would rate this meal a 7 out of 10. The buffet had good choices but nothing out of this world delicious in my opinion. The step sisters were great but Cinderella and Prince Charming really lacked personality. I still enjoyed myself but the rest of the group could have done without it.

Up Next: An evening at Magic Kingdom- MSEP and Wishes :lovestruc

I was looking forward to this evening for months. Wishes is one of my favorite parts of our disney trips. I also was looking forward to seeing MSEP for the first time.

We took the ferry boat back to the MK. On our ride there I was starting to get a really bad belly ache. Ummmm could be all the crap I was eating. My body was so not happy with me. So once we got there I had to take a detour to the ladies room. I think I was taking way to long because my dad had time to get onto the train station balcony and snap some photos. Here is my clan patiently waiting.

Once I was back in action we decided to do some rides and hopefully hit low crowds while everyone was watching the first MSEP. We did Monsters Inc which was not as funny as previous times, we rode buzz, and did Carousel of Progress.

Then we checked in to the AAA seating area. I was so glad they brought this back. We did this on our honeymoon and had such a great viewing spot of wishes but for our trip on 2009 it wasnt offered anymore. It said to check in early so we did. We had at least an hour to wait. Mike and I ran and got everyone a snack.....just what we needed right? We all shared pretzels and slushies.

We started snapping some pics.....I told my dad to get in one since he was the photographer on our trip.....I guess the wait was making him feel silly.

Everyone else was waiting patiently.

It was very much worth the wait....We had a perfect view and Wishes never lets us down.

After the show we booked it out through tomorrow land. I had always watched Spectromagic from main street because I felt like it gave it an extra special feeling but after our last experience I didnt think it was worth the headache and fighting the crowds on main street. We decided to watch it this time in frontierland. We walked over and got our spots. We talked Ryan into going on Haunted Mansion since there was only a 5 min wait. My mom and Nick saved our spots while Mike, My dad, and I took Ryan.

I wish we could have video taped him. He was scared to death. Holding on for dear life as we walked through the lines and into the building. When we got into the stretching room he started to cry and freak out a bit. Great parents we are.....we stood there and giggled. He calmed down after a minute and he kept his crying quiet at least so he didnt disturb anyone.:lmao: We got into the cart. Mike, Ryan and I rode one and my dad went solo in the other. Ryan thought it was really cool once we were on the ride. I must say I loved the ending. My dad was a ghost in his cart and it took its head off and transfered it to me. Too cool! In the end Ryan gave it 2 thumbs up but he chose not to ride it again.:rotfl2:

We got back to our parade spot to see this.

Disney 2012 120 by mommyof2pirates, on Flickr

Im not sure why my mom was making that face for. Nick missed the whole parade. :guilty:

We all enjoyed the parade. I thought it was just as good at Spectro. Afterwards Ryan wanted to ride BTMRR. We were going to split up and my parents were going to take nick back to the resort but they decided we should just stay together since we were only going to do one ride. So we each took turns carrying Nick through the park.

Ryan, Mike and I rode BTMRR 3 times....It was a walk on so how could we not.:yay:

We were walking past Splash on the way out and my dad was carrying Nick. Perfect timing had it that a big splash was coming. Everyone else saw it except my dad and him and Nick got soaked.:lmao: We still laugh about that moment.

It was a very long walk out of the park and to the buses with a sleeping 40lb 5 year old. Luckily everyone was willing to take turns. We got back to the resort around midnight.....What a long but wonderfully fun day. :goodvibes

Lindsay I don't know how you ever say "No" to anything those boys ask for, they are so so cute!

You guys are really on the go, it's no wonder Nick was not awake at the end of every night!

Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides :)
