Lots of Characters, Lots of Firsts but Lots of Drama: Why We Say NEVER AGAIN!! 3/21

I, in no way, wanted to start an argument or debate on Stephanie's TR. :) The reason I responded to your remark is that Stephanie is a good friend of mine. Not just a DIS friend, but a personal friend that I know to be very sweet and never disrespectful. Reading a post that attacked her, offended me and I retaliated.

I have re-read her post and I still do not see the comment to her Dad to be disrespectful. She had a goal and a promise to get Lilian to the MK before they closed early for Night of Joy and nothing and nobody was going to stand in her way. She simply stated what their plans were and if he wanted to experience that, he needed to get with the program. If I were in her shoes, I would have done and said the same thing.

Fair enough. I don't know her, so admittedly, you do have that benefit. Also, as another poster mentioned, on a message board, you can't read 'tone'. It is possible I read the 'tone' of the post wrong and the poster has said as much in another post, and I will take her at her word. :)

So, with that, continue on with your trip report. The reason I even began reading this TR is because we have considered asking/taking relatives and I like to see any pitfalls that may present themselves.

Going back and catching up on replies...

I can tell that this is going to be a very entertaining TR! Scares me about my upcoming trip in January, but at least I'll be able to think about your trip as consolation!

Interesting that you skipped online check in. We're thinking about doing the same, since I've heard that it's difficult to change the room location that you get if you do online check in, and I have my heart set on staying in the 90s at Pop. Seems like it worked out for you!

I would have done the same...no way that I would ever be sitting in the room watching TV when it's time to get to the MK! Especially knowing it closes early. I can't believe your MIL didn't want to go to the MK first. The ONLY reason why I'm not going to the MK first is because I don't want DH to miss it. But to a toddler, MK is completely what disney is about.

Hopefully they will become more cooperative, or you will just go without them. That is my plan for my trip!

I am surprised I ended up skipping online registration but the main reason why I did not is my DFIL and DMIL did not, so I wanted to make sure I was there to help if they needed something. It worked out though, since it was the shorter line. :thumbsup2

Holy Cow! I missed 3 updates!! :worship: You were a busy bee yesterday!! Were you DISing instead of doing your homework!!;)

I can't believe the drama started immediately! :headache: Did DGM ever say, "Well, I would have....." when scrutinizing your plans? That would have driven me over the edge!

CSR looks beautiful! I love the decor in the room!

Mike is like your Dad, as soon as he gets in the room he turns on the TV! Even when he doesn't plan on watching it, it still has to be on!:confused3 I'm glad Allyn backed you up though!

Can't wait to read more!!

I think it is to be expected, there are just way to o many personalities involved and since I was the main person planning, they all came to me! :rotfl: I did not appreciate not getting a hello though. :rolleyes1

It was college football Saturday but he would of done it anyways. :rotfl: I think it is habit like you said.

thanks to all your handy links I am caught up :cool1: sorry for all the drama and minor melt down moments w/ and for everyone....driving for 2 days can take the best out of anyone...but it seems Lily has stayed like sweet sunshine through it all....glad she loved all her treat bags too. My Rachel (almost 8) loves the crustables...that is the only way she'll eat PBJ....I have the maker for them but it's not the same

the room looks great...glad for the most part you got what you wanted. We stayed in the Casitas last March but those buildings at the time were not renovated yet....it looks beautiful I want one of those bolsters for my bed :thumbsup2

once again kuddos to the spreadhseet and being director of this large group...hope MK makes up for some of the early day stress

J~

I am glad the links are helping!! :goodvibes It was fine, but boy was I not a happy camper but I checked myself because this trip wasn't just me and really it worked out to be the best thing. There is no way DH would been able to make it to MK to get food.

The picture of the bolster is not the best, but it gives the idea. I love it too. :lovestruc The colors are similar to what we have in my and DH's room at home. I wonder if you can find them...:rolleyes1

Thanks--I love my handy dandy chart. :goodvibes While the others chuckled, they commented many times they appreciated having it. :thumbsup2

Whew, I'm all caught up! I'm loving the updates so far and how honest you are. Sorry it was a bumpy ride!

Thanks Christine! I know I am being honest but it is who I am. It was a bumpy ride here and there, but it was our trip. DH and I knew going in that there would be some drama so we had prepared ourselves for it. :rotfl: Well, as best as we could.

Don't know if this helps you, but we stayed at Pop last month. I did online check in. Upon arrival, we asked for a different section than what we were assigned. They had us moved in a matter of minutes. :goodvibes Still though, the online check in... it almost seems that everyone is doing it so the line is longer. We had to check in at the regular line anyway.

I knew so many were using it so that was another, minor reason I elected not to try it but like I said, it was mainly to make sure i could stay near DFIL if he needed help. :thumbsup2 Oh, and I wasn't sure how it worked with grand gatherings too. Still not sure but I'm assuming it would be fine.

Loving your tr! We are going to WDW in Nov. and my in-laws are coming along too..it'll be their 1st trip ever! I love this chart you made up for everyone..I gotta figure out how to do one of them :goodvibes

Thank you and :welcome: to my TR. I am happy to have you here. I will send a PM here in a minute about the chart. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

I think I replied to all the responses I am going to at this point. I'm sorry if I missed something. I am hoping to have the next installment up soon, definitely by the end of the weekend.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!!

I think I figured the chart out - I found the clip art on the web - is it a Word table?

stumbled upon your pt and had to jump over here and get caught up

LOVING your trip report so far! It has it all, drama, an adorable little girl, interesting commenters ;). Keep those updates coming, I can't wait to read more!

Tic-toc, tic-toc! The weekend is almost over!!:rolleyes1:rotfl:

I think I'm all caught up Steph! Sorry about the drama portions of your trip so far. You haven't even gotten to a park yet! It must be tough with all those people. We only had 5 and we were getting on each other's nerves.

Looking forward to reading more :)

So glad you have all the links in your table of contents. I was able to get caught up because of them! :thumbsup2

Well, the family drama just continued! I was afraid of that. Traveling with other people--family or friends--presents some unique challenges.

Glad you finally got checked in at CSR. Your room looks really pretty. :)

Wanted to say how pleased I am that everyone was able to move on. Drama lived or read can be just that drama. Hope we get another update soon!!
