Lots of Changes on EMH!

Seems that this thread has fallen asleep - I'm trying one more time - then I'll try posting a new thread - does anyone know if the 3 extra hours will be added to the regular closing times or to the later times that they usually use during peak times? Thanks so much!

I'm not complaining at all about the extra hours at night. But, I don't agree with taking away the perk from the morning folks. Personally, we loved to plan on getting early to the parks on those particular days and take advantage of the extra time in the morning. It worked great at MK on Sat mornings and we were able to get all (nearly all) of Fantasyland done by 10:30am or so. Now, since we have a little one, we are a bit limited and won't be able to take advantage of the evening hours, so it doesn't help us personally a whole lot.

I do not think anyone can answer his for sure yet as the new EMH system has not happened during a peak season yet. The night time EMH start at the end of the regular posted hours. So in the summer when the regular posted closeing time is 10pm the EMH would run until 1pm. They did this with e-ride nights.

I always thought that the extra magic hour and EE were totally seperate... are you sure that the EE days are going away?

I plan to totally avoid the parks on any type of early entry or extended evening day. Hopefully, this will mean shorter lines at the parks not participating in extra hours that particular day. If we are looking for something to do in the evening, and it works out that a park is open late, perhaps we'll head over towards evening. I think it's a great idea to offer later hours to those with older children and adults who do like to sleep late on vacation.

Still wondering - in March (the week before Easter - yipes! ) when I assume the parks will be open long hours - will the extra evening hours be added on top of the late hours? For example - will EPCOT be open until midnight? Will MK stay open until 2am? I'm really curious - because we have a couple of possible morning things to schedule, and I want to schedule them for when we will be sure to get out of bed on time.
We are much more night people than morning so we're thrilled with the new hours.

We were there earlier this year when they tried this out for a week, and yes, when the MK was suppose to close at 10:00 it did close at 1:00 AM.....

It was a blast, and really did empty out nicely between 11:30 and 1:00.....alot of walk ons.

Did anyone figure out yet if World Showcase will be extended hours also or is it just for Future World at Epcot? We're Leaving on Jan. 3 so I'm just trying to re-think our plans.

That's partly true. From what I have seen, the Mexico ride and the Norway ride will also be open.

It looks like there are more rides, in each park, that will be open than previously on the old early entry days! That should help crowd situations, too!
