I have been having a discussion with my teenage son about whether or not ot purchase a soda mug v. bringing soda on board. I don't know if this question has been raised b4-what happens if my son loses his mug -he can be scatter brianed sometimes and may just leave it on a table and forget about it. Do we need to spend another $35 (or how many days left times $5 to get a new one) to get another for the cruise.
Thanks Maureen

I always bring a permanent marker with us and mark the mugs. Mark the mug with your name or just stateroom....if found please return to.....lost and found.

Ask for a receipt when you purchase the mug and keep it in case it gets lost. If it does get lost check lost & found. It will be much easier to identify as yours if you had marked it in some way.

I don't know if they were just feeling generous with me but I lost my mug on our September cruise and when we checked the guest services to see if it had been turned in, they verified that I had purchased it and gave me a new one.

On the last Disney cruise I took, I bought the mug and wnet up for the deck party, I sat it down on our table and when I went to take a drink it was gone. Be very careful and keep your eye on it. It couldn't have been anymore than 1 minute that i took my eye off it. Lots of people get them stolen, so be sure to keep your receipt to take to guest services.

scatter brain that I am....of course I misplaced my mug!!!

I was issued a new one, no questions....no hassles....no receipt required!!

I was very pleased, as usual!!

The "Advanced system" allows Guest services to look up any and all purchases. If you lose your mug, they will happily replace it.
However, if you lose a Mug you bought on board from your last cruise, they WILL not only "Not" check lost & found they will not replace it as it was not "purchased" on board.

Another thing to keep in mind. When you leave your charge card for charging .. once your spending reaches $400.00 they will automatically charge your card. (We all know how easy it is to spend that!) Then your balance goes to zero and you start again.

I was fooled into thinking I had spent a "mere" $156.00 when I got my tally... lo and behold the "Real" bottom line was explained!
Happy sailing!
