LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Why do they know all that stuff about Jack?

Do they really know that much about him? Seems to be it might be stuff they overheard rather than stuff they know. Remember Juliette said something about something being a long time ago. Can't remember exactly now.

:confused3 I'm so lost! I hate this show! My DH asks why I watch if I hate it so much. I gotta find out what's going on! :dance3:

Just subscribing.
I haven't read the last 11 pages yet!!

But can anyone tell me, the blonde lady 'watching' Jack, what show did she used to be on? I recognize her, but I can't remember where from and it is driving me crazy!
thanks!

Edited to add--nevermind, I just read page 9 and figured it out--I recognize her from The Santa Clause 2 and ER! You guys are too good, answering my question before I even asked it! :teeth:

She was Doctor Legaspi on ER a few years ago. She wasn't a regular ,but she was on enough for you to remember her face. She was also Kerry Weaver's lover

She's been on a ton of things

I guess that means there was a zoo on the island????!!!!

Not necessarily a zoo. They could have used the animals for early mind control experiments with Dharma. There were animals there, that's for sure. They have been released, for some reason (a revolt in the past?). I guess the point is it may not have been a zoo, solely for the enjoyment of animals by the people.

I was burnt out by the commercials on LOST so I left when it was over, is it any good?

Guys, guys, guys, you all need Tivo or some other DVR. I sat down to watch LOST at 9:30. Had to pause it to take a phone call from father in law. Restarted it. Had to pause it to check on kids who were not falling asleep like they were supposed to be doing. Restarted it.

Zoomed through all of the commercials.

I do agree I did a LOT of zooming though...there were a ton. Having had some sort of Tivo/DVR for years now I think I'd skip watching TV if I had to watch the commercials!!!!! ARGH!!!!

Check into Tivo......or see if your local cable company has a DVR system. You'll thank me!!!

LOL I keep hoping they'll do a switcheroo on us, like after she kisses Sawyer, she'll say "I'm sorry, I love Jack", but considering how she and Sawyer were looking at each other, and how she asked about him before Jack, I have a feeling that all the "SKater's" will be happy this season.

I dunno if I'd put much into the asked about Sawyer first thing. I mean, after all, if you're asking about two people, you have to put ONE of their names first.

Now, if she said "How is Sawyer?" then waited for the answer, then asked about Jack, that's more profound.

Hmmmmmmm

I don't think she's his wife. But her name is Elizabeth Mitchell. You may remember her from ER..she played Carrie's gf.

I knew I've seen her before. Just looked her up on imbd and she was also the wife in Santa Clause 2. Duh. I knew that!!

Wow, what an awesome show tonight! After the opener I was yelling at my husband for not watching the show with me because I was freaking out and needed someone to freak out with. :rotfl:

Yup. Dh actually made me rewind it and we rewatched the first part again looking for clues. :)

I guess we now know why Jack feels guilty over his dad's death. Between accusing him of fooling around with Sara and then the altercation at the AA meeting, it looks like that is what drove him back to drinking.
I also wondered how they got all of that info on Jack. I guess we have to assume they have contact with the outside world. We did see in the beginning that they live in some sort of "neighborhood" on the island. I wouldn't be surprised to see that they have phones and computers. Maybe that will be how they end the show, someone finds a phone and calls for help ;)
I was a little disappointed that they didn't show what happened to Locke, Eko and Desmond and I don't remember seeing them on the coming attractions either. I hope they are still going to be on the show.

Does anyone recongize which Stephen King book they were reading?

It was Carrie.

I lol when Juliett mentioned it was her most favorite book ever.

There are a lot of references and similarities to King in Lost!

Thank you :goodvibes

I wondered about Kate's wrists too. I know he told her to make them tighter, but I didn't think they were that tight.

Yeah, if they were that tight, they wouldn't have slipped up her arms to reveal the wounds.

I'm thinking that sometime between coffee and when she showed up again there was some sort of struggle. :confused3

I thought it was a great episode. I was blown away by the first couple of minutes. Can't wait until next week when the rest of the cast will be back. So, Jack is in the aquarium and Sawyer is in the bear's cage. I guess that means there was a zoo on the island????!!!! :confused3

Which could be where the polar bears came from. :confused3

I'm not disappointed in the slightest. If they had tried to tell everyone's story in one hour, it all would have been too rushed! The first three episodes of this six-episode mini-season all start at the same point in time. This first one caught us up with what happened to Jack, Kate and Sawyer. The second episode will catch us up with Sayid, Jin and Sun. And the third episode will catch us up with everyone else, including Locke, Eko and Desmond. These three episodes can really be viewed in any order -- indeed, they swapped the second and third episodes just last week.

Does anyone else suspect that the Others are going to force Kate to choose between Jack's life or Sawyer's? Not to say that they will actually kill one or the other, but that they will torture her by making her choose who will live...

I enjoyed the episode, but at this point in the series I really do feel *lost* because I can't remember all the intricate details of past storylines.

Question about last night, though: during the book club opening scene, why did the ground start shaking? Whatever caused it must have also caused the plane to crash, and the others obviously knew it would happen because they immediately went outside and started looking in the sky.

At first I thought it was the plane crash that caused the shaking, but that couldn't be possible!

I agree about the DVR, it has me totally spoiled. I DO watch shows while they're on like Lost, but channel surf while the commls are on. The DVR is great to go over certain things I usually miss, like the Stephen King book!! Totally went over my head and I'm a BIG SK fan!!
