I noticed too that we are no closer to finding out anything about the reason behind the 3 toe statue from last season...... grrrrrr...

Didn't Ben say they were going to the temple? (When Richard was saying that everyone was wondering why Ben was taking them away from their homes). I think there's a lot more to this island yet!

When Mikhail pulled the pin in the grenade, couldn't Charlie and Desmond have both swum for the surface?

This is just what my DH said. If Charlie would have left the door open, it would've taken alot longer to flood the larger room, and he and Desmond could have escaped the same way they got in.

No, the funeral home places the obituary in the paper. But, you are on to something. SOMEONE had to have claimed the body and hired the funeral home.

Not unless the person had pre-arranged everything.

Also, after looking at the pic of the clipping, I don't think it was an obituary, looks more like a little news article.

Here is my theory on Walt and on Jacob.

Last season Shannon and Sayid saw Walt in the jungle. One popular theory about that is Astral Projection. I am thinking that this is how Walt showed up to Locke and I think that this is Jacob as well, an Astral Projection. There was some sort of ash around the hut so it could be that Jacob cannot get past that area because of it and that is why he "asked" Locke for help.

Here is something that I found on Wikipedia about it that is quite interesting.

One more thing...and I'm not sure if this makes sense.

When Mikhail pulled the pin in the grenade, couldn't Charlie and Desmond have both swum for the surface? I guess it's possible that the explosion wouldn't have killed Mikhail and leaving the station could have been dangerous for them, or even that Charlie thought that Mikhail might have locked them in somehow. But, I think that Charlie let himself die to save Desmond and so that the events Desmond saw (Claire and Aaron getting on a helicopter) would happen. Here's what's really weird though. If that's true, Charlie let himself die only because Desmond said he would. Isn't that kind of circular?

I think it's because Desmond heard Penny's voice and Charlie was afraid that Desmond wouldn't be able to pull himself away from the screen, ensuring his death.

Charlie SHOULD'VE put his scuba gear on first...THEN messed with the buttons. DUH. However if he didn't close the door before the explosion, the change in pressure after the grenade went off would've caused the "moon pool" to implode up into the station, flooding it and killing them both.

Personally I think the funeral was Ben's. Though the box did seem small..maybe it was walt's?

Gotta be honest. I did not like the way it ended, at all.

Unless Ben's name isn't really Ben, it isn't Ben. I posted close ups of the article on the other Lost thread. The name starts with a J and the last name is something like -anthem. It is very possible we don't even know who is in that casket yet.

More like a psychic thing. The Darmha Initiative was doing experiments in things like that. Which makes me think that Jacob may be very far away from the island and doesn't have the "energy" to appear to more than one person at a time.

Or it could be that the Losties are stuck in a "plane" and because of the EM pulse Desmond is moving back and forth from plane to plane. Like showing up back with Penny, being knocked back to before Charlie died time and again.

You're right. The change in pressure would have caused a quick flooding and likely killed them both. And they wouldn't have been able to swim out with the water rushing in.

By the way, I think that it was very cool, with Charlie and Desmond being very into fate, that the code was music and the musician went to turn it off. Nobody else could have done it.

Don't think it was Sawyer..I get the feeling him and Kate are Married in the future.

As for Jacob is Walt....NOPE not a chance since the "flash" we saw of Jacob he was an old white man.

Yep! the big Set for season 4 is the temple. Heard it in an interview....almost positive it has to do with the 4 toed foot.

Exactly what I was thinking....although Charlie could have simply let that room and shut to door form the outside..it did have a spinning handle on it.(on desmonds side)

Darhma is comming and that is bad news! at least I think Naomi was with a darhma " rescue" team. loved how loche killed her.

Walt is not walt he is not dead....the Walt that loche saw was the same walt that Shannon saw....aka Smokey the Monster! I'm pretty sure the smoke monster has taken many forms and helped people...Jacks dad, the rabbit, the black horse, ect.

It bothered me that no one was at the funeral. I was thinking that the person who planned and payed for the funeral would be there. Maybe they paid for it secretly, and that's why no one came.

Whew! OMG, what a satisfying season finale. It's been 15 years since I lit up, but I felt like I needed a cigarette after the show.

My observations...
1) HURLEY! I that scene where he swoops in on the VW microbus to save the day. Maybe one of the best moments on TV this year.

2) So sad Charlie had to die. I kind of see where he figured it was his destiny, but still... "Not Penny's ship" = another one of the best moments on TV this year.

3) My guess is that it's Locke in the casket. I figure he offed himself after making meticulous arrangements. He seems like the kind of guy who would make arrangements for the funeral home to care for his body, plan for a viewing, and then die alone. Plus, I can't figure out who else's death would touch Jack so deeply. All I can guess is that Jack has deep regret about not heeding Locke's words about not leaving the island. The Losties' return to civilization led to Locke's eventual suicide, thus filling Jack with despair to the point of his own attempted suicide.

4) Michael Emerson is a great eye-actor. Seriously, Ben Linus is a
classic TV villain.

5) The car crash victims... could that have been Juliet's sister and nephew?


Again, extremely satisfying finale! The producers, writers, and cast of Lost have done magnificent work. I can't wait for February to get here.

I was looking really good at her and was thinking maybe kate but of course he didn't seem all that concerned with her and didn't act like he knew her. He did want to do the surgery though and he did want an update on the surgery but that was about it.

And why did they show us the boy and let us know he's 8??

Didn't he close the door AFTER the explosion? I remember him hoping over water to close the door.

My DD knew as soon as she saw the cell phone. She said "Where did he get that phone it hasn't even come out yet?" They must be in the future! She doesn't miss a trick. LOL And when Jack told the other Dr to get his dad down from upstairs I said "See it can't be the future his dad is alive." What did i know. All I can say after tonight is WHAT?

My DD13 said the same thing! She totally caught it before I even had a cle.

But why is Jack's future beard so dark? On the island, his scruffiness is interspersed with gray...
