LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

ok - so...the AMERICANS taught Sayid to torture?
and the guy making him do it spoke...uh...Arabic? (or insert correct language here) the whole time yet still used Sayid to get to his commanding officer?

No, because her father is alive in later years. Remember the scene in his office there the TV in the background was playing a training video and Sayid was in the video.
I forgot about that. So then I guess that man holding the picture is her father. I wonder how he dies.

this link will bring you to the translation after the countdown hit 0

Like so much of Lost, that only brings me more questions.... :scared:

What the heck does the translation mean?

I get the last part, but swd3???????

Anybody remember which sector they are in from the orientation video? Arent there 6 sectors/hatches? I seem to remember something about a swan...Maybe if they are in the 3rd sector or hatch that could be it. :crazy2:

I posted this on the spoiler thread, but thought I'd post here as well. I picked this up off the ABC message boards.

The captive's name was Henry Gale. Henry Gale is Dorothy's uncle from the Wizard of Oz. The hot air balloon also refers back to Wizard of Oz.
I knew that name sounded familiar!!

the man holding the photo was Kate's step-father Mr Austin. Kate killed her real dad and then went to see Mr Austin (who she grew up thinking was her father) at the recruitment center.

The airplane was connected to her childhood friend Tom, the one who was killed when she was running from the police at the hospital.

As far as we know right now, there is no connection to the missing pilot. Other than that is who Kate's father was searching for when he met Sayid.

Thanks. I do remember all that now that you mentioned it. I remember Kate going to see her step-dad when the cops were looking for her.

Strange episode. I wish Locke weren't so obsessed with that dang countdown timer. I wanted to see what happened!

I really dislike Sawyer now. He had some slightly redeeming qualities before, but anyone who could squish a "happy" frog like that is just kind of scummy.

I don't know what to think about the balloon guy.....

I've been looking over websites for over an hour now and can't find any record of a few of these "heiroglyphs". I'm not sure they are all real heiroglyphs.

I've also read that text which has the animal or animated being on the right side of the word is read from right to left. So this may be read right to left.

The balloon guy has to be an "Other". The fact he gave the name "Henry Gale" , who was Dorothy's dad in Wizard of Oz, (the wizard has a balloon at the end of Oz too) and that final look he had on his face, so smug. Sayid is trained in torture and I think he'd know within a few seconds if the guy was a phoney.

Wow. The last few episodes have been awesome. I'm glad the "old" LOST is back! Very very good now.

I read that because the last glyph never appeared - locke reset the timer before it did - whatever was about to happen didn't. It sounded like some weird stuff was going on. Doors moving, something starting up, I don't know.

Okay, that makes sense. I was wondering what happened. It did sound like there was something going on and then it stopped when Locke hit execute.

Someone on the Lost fan site decoded the symbols to mean "To cause to die" or "to kill". Individually they don't mean anything but when put together, it makes the message.

Yes, I saw that. I'm just not sure they are right. The (first) folded cloth symbol also means health and the middle symbol also means prosperity. Of course those can change when combined with other symbols. The thing that is throwing me off is the missing symbol and the last symbol. I've never seen that symbol before.

Henry Gale was Dorothy's uncle, not dad....just clarification :goodvibes and the wizard is the one with the balloon who ends up being Professor Marvel, the one that "sees into his crystal ball."

In this shot, the missing glyph looks like the "eye" which is a determinative glyph or biliteral glpyh making a 2 letter sound "ir". It also looks like it wasn't done spinning so..??

The last one still makes zero sense to me. The closest symbol is a symbol the looks just like that but missing the small move to the right and it means enemy. But that exact symbol has me puzzled.

I'm sure that was the point. To make us scratch our heads and try to figure it out but never quite get there.

This was posted by people on a few different Lost message boards. It was scanned from a Middle Egyptian dictionary.

I wish Locke hadn't pushed the button! I wanted to see what would happen...oh well :confused3 .

Sawyer.....what is up w/ him lately?? Squishing a poor frog in his hand..yuck!

Next week is a repeat--the 2 hour opener. Damn!!!

What bugs me about last night's show is, the numbers counted down passed 0 and nothing happened. I think that just proves it's a scientific experiment to see how long they can get a couple of suckers to press a button.

OT a little, but my DH was saying the frog that Sawyer was holding looked like one of those poisonous frogs you always see at the zoo behind glass, lol. I wonder if he'll end up getting sick, maybe a little payback for squishing him ;)
