Wow what an episode! My heart was beating so fast...I wonder what the symbols on the countdown meant! Can't wait for the next episode! I'm glad that the "real" Lost is back!

What did he say? What did Said just say to the 'other' guy about who he was (yapping kids - couldn't hear) - he said, "I am Sayid blah blah blah...blah blah blah" and the 'other' guy looked wide-eyed and it faded to commercial...???

I think that was the part when he said "my name is Sayid Jarrah and I am a torturer."

Yep! As soon as I saw the pic I remembered Kate's mom from last week, and then realized that this is Kate's dad!

I totally missed the Kate/Sayid connection! Another great episode though I have to say that a frog-killing Sawyer isn't very sexy. But I loved the ranch dipping jokes!

How was he connected to the airplane? I thought the one in the car with her who was killed was the one with the airplane. But then again my mind isn't the best right now.

I posted this on the spoiler thread, but thought I'd post here as well. I picked this up off the ABC message boards.

The captive's name was Henry Gale. Henry Gale is Dorothy's uncle from the Wizard of Oz. The hot air balloon also refers back to Wizard of Oz.

I hated this episode. Despite the Barbar (Babar) funniness, and the ranch disorder, Sawyer is officially on my **** list now.

Okay, so the clock did go down to 0, right? And that was when the symbols were shown? So are we to assume that nothing happened? Or was something happening at that point and Locke "fixed" it by typing in the numbers and hitting execute?

It seemed to me like something was either happening or about to happen, maybe something electromagnetic from the sound of it? They are in the sector that deals with the electromagnetic force on the island, right?

Not sure if anyone else thought this....but there at the end when Sayid was talking to Charlie. How he was saying he knew that guy was an "other" because he didnt feel guilty doing what he did.

Then he went on to say it seems that everyone has forgot what the "others" have done to them. Made me start thinking of 9-11 and how people ask, have you forgotten that day?

A little bit of trivia -- the guy that played the (most likely) CIA agent that showed Sayid the video of the village hit by sarin gas was Clancy Brown, who was the villain in the original "Highlander" movie and is now the voice of Mr. Krabs on Spongebob Squarepants.

I noticed Kate's dad in the flashback as well. At least they're melding backstories now with someone else besides Jack as a center.

I'm still not 100% sure that Henry Gale is an other. Although if his story was true and he's been on the island for 4 months, I'm sure that he would've noticed a plane crashing on the island around two months ago. OTOH, if he's on the level and his wife died from a sickness much like Danielle described to Sayid last season, then that may be coming for the others.

I didn't think the man holding Kate's pic was her father. I thought the man killed in the airplane that they were searching for was her father. I thought maybe the other one was just holding the pic of Kate b/c her father had just been killed. I could be wrong...that was my impression, however, I have missed a few episodes this season.

No, because her father is alive in later years. Remember the scene in his office there the TV in the background was playing a training video and Sayid was in the video.
