Lost Points

For me, we have owned since 2005 and have only lost 1 point. And that point expired this year.

I borrowed points from my 09 year to take my dad and step mom on a trip at the end of April for a 2bdrm at OKW. Well due to the economy, they both lost their jobs so a vacation from them wasn't the thing to do.

So I used those points and moved us to a 1bdrm AKV Savannah view room, which cost 1 point less than the OKW 2bdrm. So we ended up losing 1 point. That didn't bother me.

Rarely do we ever have any points left to bank!

A few years back my DH made a gift to his secretary of a week at OKW. She quit the job prior to taking the trip and 3 weeks before the arrival date - cancelled. We couldn't use the points on such short notice and they had to be used or lost. After contacting everyone we could think of, with no takers, my DH asked the people at work for help. Finally the friend of a brother of one of the office workers came through and we gave him and his family the trip.

They were extremely greatful and the points were not lost.

This coming trip is scheduled for October and I'm not sure if we can go. My DH had a stroke Memorial Day weekend, but things are looking good and we're both thinking positive about him and the trip. If we know it's not going to work for us, we'll make sure the points aren't lost.
