Lost Passport

Just learned friend has left passport and wallet on internal US flight between florida and Washington DC. Anyone any experience of what to do in this instance. On his way back to the airport as I type but would like to have info to hand if he cant locate it. Help please!!!!!

Cancel credit cards instantly!

Go to UK consulate and obtain temporay papers - these will get him home. If he is in DC - go to the embassy - the visa/consulate section will help.

20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing, but this is why you should take a photocopy of your passport and keep it separately - it will help prove who you are to consular staff and ease the issue of temporary papers.

Panic over! When he got back to the airport it was at the Check In - both passport and wallet, lucky or what! I'll def be packing photocopies of everything !

wow he was lucky!! This happened when we arrived in Birmingham back from Orlando, DFIL had to run back to the plane and get a wallet that one of our party had left behind.
