Lost Passport

Omg!!!! I just read this whole thread and am hyperventilating just thinking about it... All of our passports are in a safety deposit box in our local bank for just that reason. I cant even imagine what they are going through... We went on the Dream in 2012 to Nassau. I had all of our passports ready, THANK GOD, because I lost my drivers license the day before the cruise!!!!! I had gone to my daughter's class for something, and of course had to show ID to get in. For some really STUPID reason, I just took my license and slid it in my pocket...NEVER do this!!! LOL!!!! So at 1am, I realized it wasn't anywhere...UGH!!! Mind you we were leaving at 430 for our flight to wow. Needless to say, I was thankful for my passport!!!! Good lesson learned for me though....

I don't see DCL arbitrarily deciding to deny a guest boarding just to make life difficult for them. There is either a part of the regulation that we do not know, or it is a case of the CM who the OP spoke with not knowing what they are talking about [which happens often].

I think this is one of the downsides of DCL. The cruise line is not the main business. And as a result there just are some compromises. The same thing came up on Med cruises. On just about any other line if you want to get off at Port 1 in Italy and rejoin ship in Port 2 that is not a problem. DCL can't do that

I hope she made an appointment for the passport. What time is AllAboard?

It's the FB page for the repo cruise. It's a closed group. Many of us have been brainstorming as to what to do. I'd be out of my mind crazy about now. Sh'e going to a passport office in LA at 7 am Monday. Say a prayer for her!:grouphug:

I'd want to be there earlier than that. I'd want to make sure I was the first one in line. Does she have an appointment?

Before our last trip, our passports weren't in their 'normal' spot in my desk. After a bit of a panic, I found them still in the carry-on bag that I had used from our October cruise. At any rate, this whole thread made me double check the location of our passports, and it's good that I did... discovered that DD's passport will expire in June! She's a minor, so her's needs to be renewed more frequently. And even to 'renew', both DH and I have to be present with her birth certificate and our own IDs to sign the paperwork. It's a bit of a process... Anyway, hope this all turns out ok for OP! :goodvibes

We are going to get there at 645, we don't have an appointment as the nearest appointment is on tuesday. We are hoping the will let us go a head and get the passports since it is an emergency.

How's the stress level? I'd be tearing out my hair. Can't help wondering how many DIS people double-checked the location of their passports yesterday to make sure they were "findable."

Good luck!

I am sending out good vibes and positive energy that it all works out. Please post when you get your passport and are settled to let us know the good news.:goodvibes

I am trying to keep calm, it's not going to help anything if I keep freaking out. But I am extremely nervous and stressed.

Oh gosh, I'm so stressed out for you!!! :scared:

:wizard:Sending out pixie dust and good vibes that everything works out in your favor!!!!

I know how excited I can get in times of stress, and I sometimes have to remind myself that others may not be as invested in my issues as I am, so just remember to remain calm at the passport office, and don't freak out on anyone - remember the good old adage "you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar"

Praying it all works out for you - Good Luck!!!!

and yes, I did just now go check my passports...

Thanks to this thread I just went and looked for my passport. It is now safe and sound with my cruise docs and luggage tags.

OP: I assume you will be going to the Federal Building in Los Angeles. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there. Traffic in that area is horrific on the best of days, but has been even worse lately due to construction on the 405 freeway. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the update Susiesark - that's what I was looking for. When does the cruise leave? I'm praying the passport office can get them squared away! How many nights is the repo cruise?

The cruise leaves tomorrow and is 7 days.

Good luck! Here's hoping you can get in line super early at the passport office & can be helped quickly. I noticed one person mentioned traffic being bad. At least getting up early to get there early can be rewarded with a nap aboard the ship hopefully! Keep us posted. We're all rooting for you.

Passports were probably used when the OP was doing on line check in for the cruise, maybe that is where they are.

Since they were previous cruisers, the passport info was already in the system, and they didn't need to physically see them.
All aboard is 4PM. I think it is possible to get a replacement and be back in time, depending on if they will see people without an appointment.

I surely hope they get the Passports.*fingers crossed*

However getting on the cruise is only part of the problem if they don't get them. They have to be able to get back in the country!

the last time I went to Canada, you had to have a passport or at least a passport card???
