HI All ~ I'm lost. We are planning an April 2006 WDW trip and I don't know where to start. We have been to WDW a few times, but it's been almost 4 years since our last trip and I feel like I don't know what I want to do, see, stay, etc.,. I am even considering postponing the trip to April 2007. My kids are excited about 2006. I figure the next WDW trip will be the last for a very VERY long time as I want to start saving for a family European trip. I also gained about 90 lbs and feel uncomfortable about that on vacation. However, dd is now facing more medical issues [she is a Make-a-Wish kid ~ very serious heart problems]. So I'm thinking that a WDW trip might just be want the doctor orders.

The things I do know is that I want a 8 - 10 night trip, spliting the WDW part between two WDW resorts. CBR is our fav so we will stay there and maybe one deluxe. I thought about FQ, but I'm changing my mind on that somewhat. We love the ocean, so we'll do a day or so there.

Any advice for me? Blessings ~ Sandra

Hi Sandra :wave2:

First take a deep breath! Sorry to hear DD's health problems are continuing :grouphug:

Considering this, don't postpone! As for 8 or 10, go for 10 days! That way if need be, you will have days to take it easy.

Have you considered renting DVC points for your stay. This way you would have full kitchen facilities to help defer some of your meal costs. Plus a little extra room for everybody.

Plus remember, it's not how you look on the outside but what's inside that counts!

Hi Sandra - There are two main ways to plan a WDW vacation if you want to stay onsite - the first would be to buy a package from WDW directly and the other would be to book everything separately yourself (this could include booking a room directly or renting DVC points). A good place to start is:

http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html (this site breaks down the different options for packages vs. booking a room directly. There's also a section on how to rent DVC points).

http://allearsnet.com (great pics and detailed descriptions of all the resorts)

Hope this helps! :flower:

Hi Sandra- Try WL as your deluxe. I fell in love with this place. It is so relaxing and the complete opposite of CBR.

Well, what else would you expect to hear on the Dis boards! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Another trip to WDW, of course. Something for everyone.

Have you looked into Coronado Springs? We absolutely loved it when we went in July. Found it very exotic, peaceful, fun for kids, and romantic all at the same time. And we were there during a large convention of children & their families. Now, some of the buildings are pretty far flung. We requested Cabana 9b, 1st floor (medical reasons) and had a waterview. The view, wasn't THAT big a deal as we were on the 1st floor so often had the curtains shut the few times we there & were napping. BUT, the location was great. If I didn't have that location close to buses & cool bridge to pool, and lovely view when you stepped out, I would probably not like it as much. But you also have legitimate medical reasons to help with getting a decent, convenient location for your family. Sorry, I don't remember if you needed a zero-entry pool for your DD though. CSR does not have one. Great threads with photos on the Resort Board though -- buzz2001 and epcotfan (I think) have great info.
Here's a recent thread with great photos: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=941418

Do make sure you look into all the new MYW structure of tickets, packages with WDW. It has changed quite a bit since you were there last. A 10 day ticket is only a few bucks more than an 8 day. And sometimes with the various brokers sales more days works out cheaper than fewer days in some cases.

Get the new Unofficial Guide & the Birnbaum for Kids (from Library) & you can choose with your family what you wish to see again/for first time. Lots of new things. Off the top of my head, Soarin' & Mickey's Philharmagic are GREAT! And Pirates of The Caribbean was even more fun now after The Movie.

And, of course get the free WDW Planning package/DVD ordered!

Hope things are looking up at your end. Planning a WDW trip brings its own magic! April will be here in no time. :earboy2:
