Lost Fridge...

Any fridge swappers maybe end up with the wrong fridge? Our large black one went missing recently, we have an empty box is all?!?

When we did a frig swap in April, our fridge was no where to be found. However, the luggage services guy said "go pick one out that is on the wall over there"! We went and looked and they had 3 refrigerators, not in boxes, lined up on the wall. None of them were our "swap" refrigerator, but it was one of those moments that makes you go "hmmmmmm"? They ended up finding our swap refrigerator the last day of our vaca, but at least the next people got to use it. Might not hurt to ask if you can "look around" yourself.

Ask them to check in the back-where they store the wheelchairs. That's where ours was found during the Iceland Volcano incident. (my swapper couldn't get to WDW and the fridge sat for over 2 weeks.)

I always figured that's what happened when your fridge couldn't be found. If the swapper who is trying to pick it up makes an issue over it they will give them another one. The first time we got a different fridge I contacted the swap whose it was. They said we were welcome to use it as it had gone missing over 2 weeks back and their swap had ended. This was back in 2006.

Funny that your box is there but no fridge though. Is your information on the fridge as well? I put our name and the upcoming swappers info on the side of the fridge saying something like "if you are not part of Dizneydaz's swap and your name doesn't appear on this list, please return to luggage services so the right swapper can use it." Since then we haven't lost ours.

Each fridge needs to be identified properly with big signs with the swaps name.

Also, each person using a fridge needs to know the correct name of the 'swap' that they are involved in.

I have a feeling that some people don't remember the name of the swap so will accept any fridge that is given to them which causes all these problems.

Thanks so much for everything you're doing Luckygirl. I wish I was there so I could do more. I hate for it to end already, though we've had a good year and more than 40 swaps...
