We are lucky that this is only our second time "losing" something and the other was probably 20 years ago when a kid lost their phone at EPCOT. Fortunately someone turned it in and it was waiting at the front of the park at the end of the day.

Posting here because our current situation was "lost" in our All Star Sports room. We are usually very diligent about items in the room. DS#1 brings personal blankets and plush that we remove from bed, fold up and tuck away before leaving the room each day to avoid the laundry abyss. I keep a very neat room, keeping things put away. In something like 160 stays at a Disney hotel we have never had anything disappear. We take computers, we have purchases and I've even left "valuable" medication out by accident. NEVER has anything disappeared.

WELL two weeks ago took a quick 3 night trip with both DS (I was a third wheel). Our first park day we went to 🏴‍☠️ Beak & Barrel where DS#2 got the pirate drink and so the mug to keep which they give you a new one like Trader Sam's in a box. When we left we went to Pirate gift shop and he bought a Beak & Barrel shirt, cool one ~ not Disneyfied. Both were in a Disney bag and we took back to room at our break. We had housekeeping the next day, then the day after that we left. When we got home we realized the bag with both was not in the car. He was so upset. Honestly being new items in a bag ... we didn't expect to see again and I planned on replacing for him on my December trip.

As soon as I got home, 16th, I submitted the official LOST item form. The form is pretty detailed allowing me to very much describe the items (you can list multiple), I think I could add a photo (helpful with personal items) and I said they were in our room, with room number, dates etc. I immediately got the no reply we'll look email. I got emails on the 17th and 21st they had not found yet. On the 23rd they emailed they had found it and did I want it returned, pick it up or didn't want. I proceeded to fill out the return form. Today the 28th they arrived here.

I have to say I was shocked, and impressed with the structure of the system to process it. I would have bet against getting it back, especially since new items. Kudos to housekeeping to get it in to the L&F Process.

We are 5 for 5 in getting a "lost" item back. Two lost in the parks and 3 in our room.

Impressive. I really thought I was wasting my time with it being new items. I will always try if it happens again.

I just remembered I also lost some Ray Bans on ........... Tower of Terror. Didn't even bother, odds they were wearable again was low.

Disney is the best at it. I had my phone fall out on Space Mountain once. I filed the report and within 24 hours they had found it. I was able to pick it up from Disney Springs before we left, though I also had the option to have it shipped back to me at no charge.

I put on my foldable sunglasses on my head AFTER the ride on BTMRR, but BEFORE the LAST jerk....and they fell off backwards onto the tracks :(

BUT the only other time I lost something was also new items! I had bought a bathing suit at TL before going to Disney Springs and the world of disney store and I sat down (on the old big stuffed animal thing in the back) and left it on the floor.....and it did take a few weeks, but I got it back! yay!

Disney lost & found is a well-oiled machine. DD lost her Magicband last trip, and was able to get it back. It was a limited edition Alice band so it was important to her. At DLP DW lost her wallet on the Indiana Jones coaster and didn't realize it for several hours. We returned to the hotel and it had been found. That coaster goes upside down and people lose stuff on the ride all the time. Retrieving items below the inversion is just a regular part of someone's day.

ack I can definitely imagine that it's easy to lose things on Indy.....SO ROUGH.....I refuse to ride it again...

Back in the day of paper FP, we walked up, grabbed a FP for 30 min in advance and got in a 25 min line for it to get in two rides.....we got off and proceeded to give our FPs away because we didn't want to ride it again :) I made my friend go alone last summer hahahaha

We forgot a large toiletry bag in our room at the Contemporary Resort one time. Before we even realized it was missing, Disney had emailed us and arranged for sending it home to us, without charge.

DH also lost his phone at one of the parks once, I forget which one. Didn’t think he’d get it back but he did.

DS’s girlfriend left her wallet on a Magical Express bus. She was freaking out as everything was in there. Staff at the GF were very helpful all night long. She got it back the next day, fully intact.
