LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

good god you people are insane with the numbers!!!!! Well, clueless on 23, but 42 could be the # of survivors at the end of the show or when they get rescued. It's just too close not to be related.

OK, this episode brought me back. I've been not as happy with Lost lately, but tonight was AWESOME!!!!! I was so happy to finally get hurley's backstory and it was the best one so far.

Someone asked how Hurley knew Lenny. I got the impression that he was a patient at that hospital. He knew the doctor and he would flip out anytime someone called him crazy.

And I totally forgot about Locke working at a box company. I believe he said something about "everyone needs boxes", the same thing that Hurley's accountant said. Does anyone remember him saying something like that. As soon as that accountant guy said that, I knew it sounded familiar---Locke must have said it too.
LOL-I pulled the numbers off the ABC Message Boards. They're getting much deeper than this with the numbers, going into equations and numerology. Just be glad I didn't post all that mess here :teeth:

There is a theory about 42, but I won't post it here because it involves a spoiler.

I also think Hurley was a patient there.

I have my own hunch about 48 but not gonna say since it may spoil things

What is the theory about 42? Can you post it on our other thread?

Will bring theory over there:)
Waiting ever so patiently so I can go to sleep :)
AND
did you purposely ignore the PM I sent you a few days ago ;) ?

Great episode! Hurley's backstory was probably the most eagerly awaited and it sure wasnt' disappointing. Does this cover all the regulars? Are there any other backstories left to be told? (besides Walt, who was in Michael's, and Vincent, whose backstory would involve fire hydrants and chasing cats :teeth: )

Did anyone else stop breathing when Hurley was going over the rope bridge? We noticed Jack, Sayid, and Charlie stopped, and we very well may have as well.

After the show DW Lauri and I were trying to figure out the numbers. I definitely caught the flight number - 815 -- in there, along with some of the others bengalbelle mentioned. Numerology did come to mind, as well as the letters of the alphabet -- 4 8 15 16 and 23 are D, H, O, P, and W. 42 doesn't fit into that, though. Lauri has her own theories on that and I'll let her post them later.

It's going to be a long 5 weeks until the next new episode.

What a fantastic episode!

Here is what I found out about the numbers.. If you type the series of numbers in as an IP address it takes you to a website where it tells you what the secret of the island is! :smooth:

HA! Just kidding! :smooth: (told ya I was mean!)

Anyway.. if you use the letters corresponding to the numbers in the lottery (not including the powerball number 42) you get DHOPW. I can't remember what order they were drawn on the televised lottery drawing but I know it wasn't numerical. First letters that stuck out to me were POW, then add the 42 as in 1942 during WW2. Could DH be someone's initials? Could this island have been some countries testing grounds for biological weapons and they eventually brought Prisoners of War to the island to test them on them? The island is in the Pacific.. could it be near islands like Palau which is filled with old military stuff from WW2. Could things have gone really bad? Someone put that radio tower there before Danielle's boat crashed. I'm sure someone else had something to do with that cable leading out into the ocean... to much to think about! Too early in the morning!

Oh yeah.. when you get a chance call 481-516-2342 and ask for Locke :smooth:

HA! Got ya again! :smooth:

I think we need to see a back story on Walt. I would love to anyway. I want to know what has happened to him (beside's the obvious of being abandoned by his dad and losing his mom) to cause him to have these mysterious "powers". There is something aout him that caused Locke to tell him his "secret" the 1st time he met him,so there is much more to Walt than we know, and I, for one, would like to know more.

Yes, I agree. Considering what he said to the reporters after winning the lottery. He said he had put his family through so much recently. So, him being in a mental hospital would fit in with that.

Okay, totally out in left field here but..

When I googled the numbers it pulled up the Book of Genesis. I read the passages and (forgive me, I am not well versed in the bible at all) but there seemed to be some creepy similarities..

Question - at the end...when they showed the numbers printed on "something"...what was it? A plane that had gone down? Was that the "door" that Boone and Locke were trying to open a few episodes ago?

and good catch oogie with the box company link...totally missed that. This series needs to come out on DVD STAT!

Yes, it was the hatch that Locke and Boone had found.

I was tearing up when Locke gave Claire the cradle, how incredibly sweet!!! I also think he already knew it was her birthday.

Good catch on Locke and Hurley and the box company. Yes, Hurley said he was a patient there. I'm guessing we'll need another backstory to explain that. He said he had put his family through a lot before he won the lottery.

So many questions, so few answers! But, I will NOT read the spoiler thread LOL, I like to be surprised. I so love this show, I'll die waiting until April. (OK, so that was a little dramatic, but still).

I have a question. Last week when they were going over the asian couple's (can't remember their names - too early in the am for me :) )story, there was a scene where a the little girl of the father who was beaten was watching tv. I SWEAR I saw Hurley on the tv screen. Now I wonder if it was a news story about him winning the lottery - even if it was in another country. I have TIVO, so I rewinded it a few times, and it was Hurley. Anyone else catch that? I love how this show intertwines all the stories.

Yep...that was after he won the lotto.

I know some people don't want to read the spoiler thread...but there are some good theories on the numbers over there! kudos to those figuring out the numbers!

I thought last night's episode was great. I can't believe we have to wait until April 13th for a new one :sad2:
I was thinking the numbers are passages from the Bible, but who knows.
Hurley seemed to have made a connection with the French woman, I wonder if she'll eventually join up with them.
I thought it was funny that Charlie didn't believe Hurley about being worth 156 million. Poor Hurley, I don't know if anyone will believe him.

Man, you guys were busy last night. I went to bed shortly after the show was over. It was a great episode.
