We arrived last Monday morning and rested a bit and then headed over to DTD to the Bootique and shopping. We have dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare so we hopped a bus to the GF. Got there and everyone freshened up and I asked dh if he had the camera. He didn't, I didn't and it was no where to be found.

Well we contacted the bus people, because I had it at DTD while waiting for the busses. We went to eat and didn't have our room keys b/c they were in my camera bag. We were still able to eat though. I was so upset because we had pics from DTD, my photopass card was in there and our room keys. Luckily dh had a disposable camera on him.

Well we get back to our resort (ASMovies) and go to the front desk and let them know we lost our camera with our room keys and get new room keys. Go to our room and low and behold my camera was there!

Someone who was staying or going to Fort Wilderness (I believe) picked it up and turned it in to that hotel and it was transfered to ours. Luckily our room keys with our names and resort name was in the camera case.

So THANK YOU to that person/family that turned in our camera, safe and sound! I know it's a long shot, but maybe they read the disboards!

Next time, my name and number is going in the camera!!!!

Wow.. AWESOME ending to something that I really didn't expect a happy ending to..

That's Great..

Wow! I'm so happy for you. It warms my heart to hear of people who are honest and kind. My daughter left her camera on the bus to Animal Kingdom one year, and even though we remembered as the bus was pulling away, they never could track it down, and she never got it back. I really am happy that your story had a happy ending, and that you got your camera back! :goodvibes

Only in Disney...

What a great story!

I remember, a little while ago, our family went to Pizzafari for lunch, and I was wearing my fanny pack with $200+ in it, my camera, my key, and a few other things. When we were on our way out of Pizzafari, I noticed that I was no longer wearing my fanny pack! :scared1: So, we rushed back in and I went into the restroom, where I was sure I left it, and it was nowhere to be seen. So, I went to the counter and asked if anybody who worked there had happened to see it in the restroom, and they handed me my pack and said that somebody had turned it in! The person who found it had a chance take $200+ and they handed it in! I was SO thankful. All I could think was, "Only in Disney..."

OIn our last day of our DEc DD and I returned a rental across from DTD. Hopped on the bus to CR to go over to MK before we had to leave.

DD comes out of the bathroom at CR with a pale look on her face . She lost her cell phone .It's a Nextel so i alerted it it went through then went dead. I told her no big deal we'll back track and see if we can find it.

In the mean time I asked DW as she was resting over at SSR to check to see if she had it.

We finally had someone answer it that new how to use and turned it in to DTD GS .We went to retreive it and just ended up staying at DTD in DQ.

I thought for sure it would be gone as it's a very popular phone and easiely transferable with a sims card. In the back of my Mind I was thinking Karma as we found and turned in a Camera earlier in the week during MVMCP. We bumped into the lady later looking for it and took her to where we left it they were so glad.

That is awesome! What nice people and what great service from Disney!

Three general comments.

One is with a digital camera take a phot at the beginning with your name and hotel and cell phone number easily visible in the photo. It makes it easy to get the camera back to you.

If we get a cell phone turned in we will usually look in the directory for a number that appears to be parents or relatives and call that number. We will ask them whose phone it is and then, if they are staying on property, attempt to locate their resort and leave a message.

And a few months ago one of the lifeguards at TL found a wallet and when we opened it in Guest Services we found over $1,200 in cash in it and were able to find the owner and return it to him.
