Losing While I Can and Must (comment away!)

Hey Bekki! I hope the weather is warming up for you. We're looking at a high in the 60's this weekend. :sad2:

Take care, girl. You're getting in lots of exercise these days (and I give you EXTRA points for that treadmill while you were away!! :thumbsup2 )

Thanks Kim. I see you're getting yourself out and about too! Don't you love Spring/Summer! My timing this week sucks, because today is a semi-rest day (and I really need it, as you'll see below), and tomorrow is a long walk day. But the weather is much better today (Rain tomorrow! Yuck). So I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

In other news, I've lost 6 more pounds since the last time I checked (maybe 3 weeks ago?). That's a total of 22 since October. Slow and steady, that's my motto :lmao:

Friday, 5/18
B: BIG bowl of Smart Start (I was hungry :) ) w/a mix of soy milk and regular
L: 1.5 cups of leftover corn chowder and a sprite
D: Qdoba chicken burrito w/ whole pinto beans, cheese, quac and sour cream. I left about 1/4 of it.
S: 1 piece of dark chocolate, 100 cal pack of hostess cupcakes and a skinny cow ice cream cone (but the cone was missing! It was just cone shaped ice cream :lmao:)

Movement: 23 minute walk w/ the dog and a 47 minute, 3 mile walk (15:36 mpm). The last mile really sucked, I was having a lot of muscle pain in my legs, so I slowed down. Then I took my student to the zoo and walked for about 3 hours w/o stopping. My legs are TIRED! So I really need this "Rest" day, although I am taking the dog to the dog park, so I will be up and about.

Saturday, 5/19

B: Bowl of smart start w/ skim milk and 1/2 of a quesadilla
L: Lean cuisine butternut squash ravioli
D: 2 slices of pizza (sausage, mushroom and olive) and a salad w/blue cheese dressing
S: 100 cal hostess pack and a small bowl of smart start w/skim milk

Movement: Took Indy to the dog park for a little over an hour, but I don't really count that as any form of exercise. I just follow him around and hope he doesn't get lost in the bushes :lmao:

Way to go on the six pound loss. :thumbsup2

Your walks are amazing. 15:36 is awesome.

Thanks so much for your continued support in my journal.

Great job on your walks and your 6 pound loss Bekki!:cheer2: Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Have a great Monday!:cool1:

Thanks so much guys! Such good friends here :)

I am dreading work now. I found out my end date is June 29, and I had though it was the 15th. That's two extra weeks of teaching that I'm not sure I have the energy for! Of course, it's two extra weeks of paychecks, which are ALWAYS a good thing. I just need to suck it up.

Sunday 5/20
B: Starbucks green tea latte and pumpkin scone (which was probably the worst thing in the world for you, but it tasted good. And it had to have been better than the doughnut I really wanteded :lmao:)
L: Salad w/ ff. balsamic. It had all sorts of veggies, cranberries and almonds plus a good sized piece of bread
D: At a friends: Grilled flank steak, potato salad (not the mayo kind, the vinegar kind) and regular salad w/ vinagrette. A slice of almond and fruit tart for dessert.
S: granola bar

Movement: Pups got a 23 minute walk. I did five miles in 1:23 and change, a 16:36 mpm. My leg is still hurting, so I'm going to ease up a bit on walking this week, and maybe hop on the rucumbant instead.

You're walks are AWESOME, Bek!! I'm impressed! 6 pounds is fantastic, too!

I'm jealous you have Panera. I can't wait to get to FL & get some - not the healthiest, but.....

Pumpkin scone from Starbucks ....don't EVEN go there! It, too, is a fav & I'm not positive the donut would have been worse! I think on WW the scone is like 10 - 12 pts - in otherwords around 500 cal & plenty fatty! But SO GOOD!!!!

Hope you have a good week. Hang in there! School will be done soon!

Congrats on your loss, Bekki! That's awesome! :thumbsup2 Definitely take a break from the walks, especially those speedy-quick walks for a few days and let your legs heal. You've been putting in some serious miles lately and VERY quick times. :goodvibes

Yuck, yesterday was a lazy, rainy day, matched by some lousy eating choices.

Monday 5/22
B: bowl of Smart Smart w/soymilk
L: Panera broc. cheese soup and 1/2 a pesto chicken sandwich and piece of whole grain bread. Also lemonade/sprite mix
D: Barilla+ pasta w/marinara and sausage and a sprink of parmesan
Snacks: (This is the  part) 2 cookies (chocoalte chip and a PB from safeway, so they're the big soft ones) and a skinny cow ice cream cone. The cookies tasted SO good, but really did I need two?

Movement: Just a 21 minute walk w/ the dog in the short sun break we had all day. I'm planning a gentle 3 mile today.

Thanks for checking in everyone!

Hope you have a wonderful day today!:goodvibes It's hard when the weather is crummy out. At least it's not snowing right? ;) :lmao:

Have a great Wednesday, Bekki!

So excited, I bought a new carry on bag for all of my trips coming up. It's the Overland Donner Bag in the red color

I have a trip to Salt Lake this weekend and I think it's perfect for the plane :)

Tuesday, 5/22

B: Bowl of Smart start w/ soymilk
L: Quiznos small chicken, swiss and honey mustard sandwich and a bag of baked lays
D: Salad w/ creamy vinagrette and chicken, apples, walnuts and goat cheese. I forgot to get the dressing on the side, so there was too much. But the rest was pretty good.
S: 2 sets of 5 () raspberry newtons (one at 3ish and 1 after dinner) and a glass of skim milk

Movement: 22 minute walk w/ the dog and a very gentle 3 miles in 53 minutes (around a 17:40 mpm).

Have a great day everyone!

I love it too :) I can't wait to try it out this weekend.

Let's just say my caloric intake on Wednesday was quite a bit higher than I would have liked. And I made some interestingly dumb choices.
Wednesday, 5/23
B: (I woke up super, super early, so two breakfasts )Smart Start w/ soymilk and a small bagel w/ cheddar melted on it
L: Burrito and soft taco from Taco Bell
D: Mac and cheese from a box
S: 6 raspberry newtons (3 at 3 and 3 after dinner) and a glass of skim milk

Movement: 23 minute walk w/ the dog and a very, very gentle 2.75 mile walk w/my student. (about 1:15)

Today will be a better day!

AHHHHH, I have SO much to do before my 6 am  flight in the morning! I'm trying to get all my sub plans done for tuesday, and I'm so unispired. I don't even know what I'm doing today :lmao: Plus laundry, packing, oil change and hopefully I can squeeze in a walk. Why do I put stuff off until the last minute? When will I learn? :rotfl:

Thursday, 5/24
B: BIG bowl of Smart Start w/ soy milk
L: Lean cuisine chicken panini and something else...I can't remember what though...Oh right, a spoonful of peanut butter :lmao:
D: Barilla+ pasta w/ chicken, broccoli and I used a bit of garlic herb goat cheese as the sauce. It was super tasty :)
S: 4 raspberry newtons and a glass of skim milk, hot chocolate made w/ skim milk and some marshmallows

movement: 23 minute walk w/ the dog and a 38 minute swim. I think I need to stop "swimming" for a while. I can get in a do some arm stuff, but the actual freestlye swimming is taking a toll on my back (too much twisting :( ). I'm sad about that, but I have other stuff to do, so it's ok.

I'll be gone until late Tuesday night, so I won't be able to check in. It's a trip for my other "job," and it should be fun b/c I really like this particular aspect (I'm a coach, and this is the selection try-out to choose the 30 best kids in the country) and I love the people I work with. Still it's loooonnnnggg days (7 am to 9 pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday), so I'm coming back on Tuesday exhausted.

Have a great Memorial day everyone! I'll see ya on the flip side :)

Hi Bekki
Sorry i missed you but hope your having a fun & safe trip :)
Congrats on the weight loss :)

Hey Bekki!! I hope you're having a great trip. :thumbsup2 Sounds like a very cool trip.

Hello bekki!

Hope you are enjoying your trip! We are going on a short weekender to Mackinaw City, it's at the tip of the Mitten on the Michigan Map. It is where the movie "somewhere in time' with Jany Seymore and Christopher Reeves was filmed at. We try to go at the end of the school year every year. Brings in the calm after a hectic school year.

Enjoy!

Wendy
