New to the boards and read this thread and thought I would post my own story as it fits perfectly with my life right now.
Last year I made the serious life changing decision to attempt to lose
Fast forward to today, I am now at 98 total pounds lost
The keys to weightloss I have found that help is understand that you can still enjoy the food you want while dieting. Moderation is key. You dont have to starve yourself or eat food you hate to diet.
Activity is the other key. Get up and walk!
A big congratulations on your 98 lb. weight loss!!!!
I agree - moderation is the key. That's the only way I can lose and keep it off. A 'diet' just doesn't get it for me, it has to be a way of life eating change. I can't deny myself any 'one' food group - I love my sweets and bread, so I just limit how much/how often, I can eat certain things.
I, too, just back from Disney and was worried I might have gained as we enjoyed eating mostly what we wanted, but with all the walking, thankfully I only gained 2 lbs. and immediately got back on my schedule of eating less, and walking.
Again, good luck to you, and you 'can' keep the lbs. off and enjoy life with your little ones.
Good Monday morning! Just weighed in and I will take it! I lost the pound and a half I gained last week! Not great but at least I didn't gain more. I always seem to backslide on weekends.

and here lately I haven't gotten all my water in for the day. So................this week I need to concentrate on doing a few things better. Best wishes to everyone for a great week!
I am 63
Ht. 5' 1"
Cw 132.6
Gw 120
Understand completely! I am 68 and 5'2", so understand how extra weight can impact on a small frame. I've always needed to watch my weight, but after age 50, it has gotten harder and harder!
I lost 30lbs. last year in about 5 months, and this time I intend to keep it off - too hard to lose it at my age!!

My biggest help, other than food in moderation, is exercising with Leslie Sansone dvd's 3-5 times a week for 45 min. (3 miles). She is the best!!
