Losing weight on a cruise....

I once lost 3 pounds on a 7 day cruise, but was VERY careful about what I ate. I generally consider it a success if I don't gain.

The techniques have been listed--take the stairs, hit the fitness center, etc.

Yup...Jackie and I were on the same 14 nighter in May... I didn't gain anything.... I ate well because there was lots of choice. I didn't eat in between cause I had enough at the meals... I think those who gain alot drink most of theirs... which is ok... just as long as you know that's why and either plan for it or start to watch when you get home.

Yes, you are probably correct in my case. I dont snack,I have fruit for breakfast. I run, spinning bla bla bla.

Oh yes and I NEVER go to the buffets, i am too greedy for them, I like to sit down and order, the portions really are a nice size on the ships and no going back for more.

I was looking through my DCL Passporter book last night and came across some info about a class the Vista Spa offers on losing weight while cruising... seriously? :lmao: People lose weight on a cruise? I'm a Weight Watcher person, and I'm pretty sure it won't happen here!

No doubt......also weight watchers people here. We just got off a cruise and I thought I did well just eating what I wanted, using portion control and hitting the fitness center 4 times during the week. I still gained 4 pounds doing that! Better than the 10-12 I used to gain on a 7 day cruise!:)

That SPA thing is probably one of those detox wraps that makes you lose weight and inches.....but it all comes back when you eat and drink.

IThe trouble was AFTER the cruise when I had gotten out of the habit of counting points and such. The week after was deadly. Took me a few weeks to get back on track! :rotfl:

That's EXACTLY what happened to me! I'm the original poster of this thread and got back two weeks ago from our 7 day cruise. I put on waaay too much weight, and honestly, I think I only gained 2-3 on the cruise. It was definitely the two weeks following where I couldn't seem to get back on the WW boat!!! Ah well, I have my head wrapped around it now, and I'm back on plan!!

I find that since I'm not sitting behind a desk 9 hours a day, instead I'm walking (even going from place to place), taking stairs, just generally more active. I'm able to eat what I want (and generally, it's not all that much more than I eat normally) and not gain weight. If I would go to the spa or even walk on deck 4, I'd probably lose weight. It's pretty easy. There's just so much you can eat and most of the times, after have an appetizer, entree and dessert at dinner, you have no room for any of the later buffets.
