SO happy I've found this thread! I'm a new poster to this board, but I've been reading it for awhile now. I'm 20 years old and have struggled with my body image for a long time.
I definitely am not obese by any means, but there is definite room for improvement (lookswise AND healthwise). I'm about 5' 6" and weigh 156 which isn't SO bad, but ALL of my body fat seems to just sit on my inner thighs and my belly. The belly is the worst part of it. Especially when it makes you look preggers! UGH! It's the worst! From the front, I look nice and curvy, when I look at myself from the side it's horrific.
This summer I decided to make a real effort to lose weight and so far I have gone down from 169 (the idea of hitting 170 hit me like a lightning bolt) to 156 which I'm really proud of. I've also lost a few inches from my waist! My goal is to steadily get into the 130s and stay there. See, I'm great a dieting during the summer because I can really control what I eat, my issue is when I go back to college and have to eat at the dining hall where no nutrition values are given.
My next trip to Disney is in June 2010 and I really want to be in the best shape of my life. It's not like I get tired walking in the parks, but I just don't like the way I look. That darned belly!
Anyways, my name is Chelsea, thanks for reading this and wish me luck!
