SO happy I've found this thread! I'm a new poster to this board, but I've been reading it for awhile now. I'm 20 years old and have struggled with my body image for a long time.

I definitely am not obese by any means, but there is definite room for improvement (lookswise AND healthwise). I'm about 5' 6" and weigh 156 which isn't SO bad, but ALL of my body fat seems to just sit on my inner thighs and my belly. The belly is the worst part of it. Especially when it makes you look preggers! UGH! It's the worst! From the front, I look nice and curvy, when I look at myself from the side it's horrific.

This summer I decided to make a real effort to lose weight and so far I have gone down from 169 (the idea of hitting 170 hit me like a lightning bolt) to 156 which I'm really proud of. I've also lost a few inches from my waist! My goal is to steadily get into the 130s and stay there. See, I'm great a dieting during the summer because I can really control what I eat, my issue is when I go back to college and have to eat at the dining hall where no nutrition values are given.

My next trip to Disney is in June 2010 and I really want to be in the best shape of my life. It's not like I get tired walking in the parks, but I just don't like the way I look. That darned belly!

Anyways, my name is Chelsea, thanks for reading this and wish me luck! :yay:

Welcome Chelsea! You will find so much support here. I keep coming back every time I fail off on my own. I have had a weight problem all my life but I have finally decided that it isn't a weight problem, it is a mindset so I am working on the mindset while I get the body in gear! Hear the mental talk? Fail? No such thing, just set backs!:thumbsup2

Just checking in.... I didn't do as well this week as I had hoped, only the same 2.5 lbs I was at during the first week that I wasn't on here. But -- it's also "that time of the month" right now, and we had some tough stuff to go through this week, so comfort food was of the essence and a bit of a "healing tool".

(We had to put our oldest cat, Calvin, to sleep... he's been with us since we got married, every day of our married life for the past 15 years. :sad1: )

So -- I'm trying harder now to make up for it... hopefully next week I'll have some better news!!

Everyone else, keep up the good work!! We can do it!! :yay:

:grouphug:I'm so sorry for the loss of your kitty, I lost my own doggie friend Harley last month & I know it's hard. It helps to remember the good times.

I know from personal experience that you need that comfort food & you'll get back on track soon. Hang in there.:goodvibes

:grouphug:Sorry to hear about your kitty... Now's he's up in doggy & kitty heaven with Tink's Harley and my Daisy Dog..

Welcome Chelsea... We're all gonna look great on our trips... But unlike you, summer seems to be harder for me.. I'm having a had time trying to stay away from the ice cream, and party food... seems like we're always at a BBQ, or just out really late, since it stays light so late.. that by the time we actually sit down to eat, it's usually not anything good.. and most recently it's been pizza and such... I keep coming back to this thread hoping to find my encouragment and motivation.. I know.. tomorrow I'll do better. I've got to start my second 30 day challenge... and I'll up the intensity level... hope that will make a difference. Oh.. I know what I've been thinking... has anyone ever done that Alli (or other weight loss product? like slim quick ? ) I've seen ads for them, wondering if anyone has tried them do they work? what's your thoughts, opinions, is it worth the cost? I think the Alli is @ $60 or so...

daisyy: I tried the Slimquick drink & it didn't do a thing for me. In fact, I think I gained weight:scared1: but it might work for some people just not for pre-menopausal women like me as my hormones are all out of whack anyway.

I've been having a hard time getting back on track after my beach vacation although I got brave enough to get on the scale yesterday & hadn't gained as much as I thought, I'm at 176 but after all the popcorn I ate at the movies last night, I probably gained 2 lbs:scared:

Yeah. Lisa is back!

I hate these summer weekends!... We have too many BBQ's and party to go to all the time.. (not that that is a bad thing...).. But it's never anything good to eat... not that it's bad.. just not healthy stuff... anyway... then during the week, my DD is on swim team, and the evening meets 2 or 3 nights a week.. we usually grab something on the go... so.. I can't remember the last healthy thing I ate!... The other day at lunch, I walked over to our cafe... with every intention of getting a salad... but came back with a slice of pepperoni pizza... Ahhh... I want to kick myself. and then, I made myself finish the 1st 30 day challenge on Wii... but I haven't been motivated enough to start a 2nd 30 day challenge.... I should go do it right now! Well.. anyway... glad Lisa is back, and everyone else keep up the good work... Tomorrow is the day.. Back on TRACK. I have less than 2 months now.. I have to keep telling myself that! I got to do it!!!

Got up a little late this morning but since I got up Ive been busy....

First breakfast for the daughter .... clothes in the washer.... then I had to fix lunch/dinner (mu DH works nights so we have our big meal for lunch and any leftovers go to dinner) we are having country BNLS ribs and potato salad (its about 700 calorie meal not including whatever I drink so if I am good that'll be water)

So hows everyone????

Another swim meet last night, and nothing good for dinner.. My other kids had waffles and ice cream... :lmao: (I didn't have to cook it.. and they ate it... (Doesn't get any better than that! (I actually didn't have them, but I still feel FAT!)... Oh well... how bad is having PB&J for lunch ? It's easy... yummy.. and I'm making it for the other kids... so, I make it for me too.... Oh well...I'm really going to try hard. how's everyone else doing? What I nee to do is bring a salad.. and no money so I can't go to the cafe and get something else at lunch.... Waiting for my gaarden to start turning those tomatoes red. Some fresh veggies might help.

Remember dasiyyy its not what you eat its how much you eat too ... 5-6 small meals and exercise.

PB&J is fine and even better if you try it on whole grain bread

Just checking in.... don't weigh myself this week 'til the end, but I needed to stop by for some motivation. My biggest problem is getting the excercise.... I've never had very good metabolism and as I've gotten older, whatever I had went away, never to return! That is, unless I excercise... then it comes back -- but then I'm starving, too!! :rotfl: So, tomorrow is my "back to the gym" day and today I'm forcing myself to do some stuff here at home when I log off. (Honest!) Guess I'd better get some better food in the house for when the "post work-out" munchies hit! ;)

I have been doing great.....and I am only drinking water...only water....and I am also excersing for 45 minutes everyday....Come on girls we can do this.........=)
