That is true about the pop and sugary drinks. Nine years ago after my youngest was born I switched from regular pop to diet and I lost 15#'s in a matter of a couple weeks! It was great but now that I only drink diet what else can I give up?

Now drop Diet soda and switch to water, milk, or sugar free juice.... Tropicana now offers Sugar Free Orange Juice and orange juice mixes (strawberry, banana, OJ) and they taste GREAT! Also I have switch from sugar to Splenda (which was recommended by my Nutritionist). I can't tell a difference. I love Tea especially sweet ice tea so I switched to Caffeine Free Tea w/ Splenda ... so yummy! Granted that's me!

:dance3:Remember to DANCE, LAUGH, and SMILE!
"Shaking your tail feather" burns 4 calories per minute (and that's just a little wag.. LOL)
Laughing burns 3 Calories per minute so give us a good ole' giggle!
Smiling burns 1 to 3 calories per minute ... SO smile ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT!

(I found that a cute weight loss inspirational and I don't know if its true but its still cute!)

mind if i join you all too?

I would like to join in also!
Anyways, you all seem really supportive and I'd like to give this another try. We have a trip planned in Nov and I'd like to be in the pictures this time since last year I refused to be in them because I knew how bad I looked.:scared1:

:welcome::welcome::welcome:
Welcome to all !!!!

I would like to think that everyone here is supportive!

I did workout # 7 today on the Wii Active (still loving it) and I thought I would push myself and do the hard level instead of the medium. It wasn't so bad. The only bad part was 2 laps of Kick Ups - I didn't think I could do it but I did it without stopping. I was tired and sweaty when I was done but I felt great. I can honestly say that I am getting addicted to exercise - after dinner I can not wait to exercises (either the Wii or the TM) I can not believe I just wrote that because I have never said that before.

I haven't really lost much recently (about 1 lb in a week and a half) but I ate poorly over the weekend and I didn't gain either so maybe that why.

I am so proud of us all - be good!

I know exactly how you feel about getting addicted to exercise. I feel great when I exercise. Sometimes I forget that I am going to feel great and getting started is the hardest part but after I feel awesome. Can you or someone explain what Kick ups are?

Thanks,

Loralie

About a year ago I bought the Slim in 6 dvd's and started to use them briefly(they are murder!). I hace decided to do one again this morning after the girls go off to school. I'm sure I will be in pain all day but I need to get motivated. I'm also only going to drink 1 diet pepsi today, which I am having right now need the caffeine in the morning ya know? It'll be water the rest of the day and really paying attention to what I put in my mouth.

I know myself and if I try to eliminate too much at one time I will fail.:scared:

Hope everyone keeps up the good work and has a great day!:thumbsup2

I did NOT feel like working out tonight. I was out at a school meeting and came home at 9:00 expecting that the kids would be in bed. I was so annoyed that my husband was just getting around to getting the kids out of the shower/snack etc. So it was literally 9:50 by the time everyone is settled and my husband does not understand my frustration that the 5 yo is getting to bed at 9:50 and I still need to work out (sorry for the venting)

Anyway - I just finshed w.o. # 7 ( I think) on the Wii and I did the hard level again and I finshed it. Now if only the scale would cooperate.

Thanks for listening -

Good job! You didn't feel like doing it, but you did. That is dedication.

Here is my favorite Active quote. You, my friend, are poetry in motion.
It just makes me giggle.

BTW, It had me do squats and holds tonight. It gave me flashbacks to pushing a baby out. That is now my least favorite exercise. (jump lunges were in that spot)

Today it had me doing side jumps (3 set of 20 by the time I was done)
NOT FUN - it kept telling me something like "Remove anything that may distracting you from your workout" Do you know what was distracting me from my workout? Total tiredness!

It does say some funny things to you - it is kinda fun though.

I drink a large sweet tea and proably 3 cans of coke a day. It's like an addiction. I have got to get off those things.

So you all know I've had this aversion to the scale since I hit this brutal plateau a while back. Well, this morning I decided to get on the scale and I'd lost another 2 lbs! Yippee! Perhaps the plateau has been broken?

:dancer:

Yeah you:cheer2:

:cool1:Congrats on losing the 2 lbs, any loss is good especially when you've been stuck on one weight for awhile.

My trouble is that I get on the scale too much, I get excited over losing a few lbs then the next day the 2 lbs reappears :scared1:so I've learned not to get too excited. I just know that my weight fluctuates 2-3 lbs from day to day, does this happen for everyone or is it just me?

That happens with me too. Most experts will tell you to weigh yourself once a week. I liked knowing on a daily basis if I was up or down, doesn't give you much opportunity to get too far off track.

I lost 1.5 pounds this week, for a grand total of 11.5. That's pretty good, but you still can't really tell. I'm going to really step it up this week, exercise more, stick to my points (I'm pretty good with doing that, just on the weekends I kind of allow myself whatever I want and I'm going to stop that now!) and hope I can lose a little more next week. :)

Good for you!! 11.5 pounds is great!

I'm up to 15 lbs lost and people are really starting to notice. It's great motivation when people start to comment on your weight loss. :cool1:

It pretty much is an addiction and can cause withdraws.
It will cause some Caffeine withdraws so do it slowly. I switched my sweet tea to decaff than switch the sugar to splenda.
For the coke I started drinking caffeine free root beer for one week and it kinda eased my headaches and after the week I only drank milk water and my decaffeinated tea.

So hows everyone doing?:confused3

:yay: I am working my tush off everyday and really enjoying the Wii Active I am on exercise #11 and boy did it work me out this morning. I have reached my calorie goal (200 calories a day) and workout goal (at least 1 workout per day) everyday since the beginning. :yay:

:wizard: Small goals are just as important as your long term goals. :wizard:

 I went to get some new shirts yesterday (I hate finding shirts almost more than bottoms because my bra size <38DD> is so hard to find comfortable shirts big enough for all of me) I usually have to wear maternity or XXL to cover my top and be long enough to cover my stomach and not make those ugly rolls. :headache:
:worship: But thank goodness Old Navy has finally started to realize we don't need "baby" tees for woman. I found cute t-shirts I can dress up or down and are long enough. I tired on my normal XXL and they swallowed me whole so I asked the attendant for a XL and it was too BIG?? What is going on well than I asked for a Large and said "Sorry its still really big is there any larges I dunno if they will be big enough but do you mind?" She brought me some larges and I asked her opinion and she said "Those look very good. You actually have some curve under those 'to big for you shirts'" She was so sweet.

:cool1::banana: SO I bought 5 t-shirts all LARGES and danced literally danced my way out of Old Navy!:cool1:
