KPH500 - I am also in serious countdown mode - we leave 6/21 - I want to eat nothimg from now until then :rotfl: I also have to do some serious planning and packing.

Whatever you do ... don't not eat. Your body goes into starvation mode and traps all it's calories and you won't lose anything. It took me a while to learn the 'you have to eat to lose' philosophy which seems contradictory.

I just hung up the phone with my husband :lovestruc (i miss that man so much) and suggested that I may need a new bathing suit for this vacation. ;)

I bought Wii Active today & did the 1st workout. It was great & I really feel like I accomplished something. My DS also did the workout & it kicked his butt. He did a harder intensity than I did (he made me say that).

Thanks for telling me about Wii Active, it's great.

I have a horrible habit of weighing myself everyday - I know it is not good and I tell myself I can do it as long as I dont take it to heart - then I get upset if the numbers aren't good.

I did great yesterday- worked out, ate good etc - this morning up 1 lb compared to yesterday - :headache: So I am trying not to care - I know I did good and the numbers will just have to catch up - Right??

I need some help. I have been working my butt off and I've been eating really well, but I can't seem to lose weight how I want. The first week I lost about 4 pounds but the next day I was up 5. I just don't get it. Part of the problem is that I may not be eating ENOUGH calories....I don't know how to remedy myself. I eat the same thing nearly every day (only because I'm a picky eater and once I find something I enjoy, I eat it until I'm sick of it.) Basically my daily eats consists of cheerios/grapenuts, a banana and skim milk in my cereal in the morning. I eat a banana or lowfat string cheese for a snack, healthy choice meal for lunch, string cheese with pretzels or a banana for another snack...or all three if I'm really hungry and then dinner usually consists of grilled chicken and veggies of all varieties.

Should I be switching up my food? Or should I be eating more? I would add more fruits, but the only fruit that doesn't upset my stomach is bananas. If anybody can help me solve this problem, I'll love you forever!!

Since I have already lost 40bs, I completely understand (its not falling off how it did a year ago)... I eat sensibly as do you and just cant seem to get the extra weight off. My boyfriend tells me that I am not eating enough but I am staying between 1200 and 1500 calories per day and pretty much refuse to eat more (wouldnt make sense to me). You didnt mention if you are exercising but that is my next plan of action. I exercise 3 times per week, usually, but am about to step it up. I really dont like running so i tend to get in an exercise rut and not push myself hard enough. I did find a pretty good 30 min cadio intreval training routine (I have done it once and it pushed me a lot more than i normaly push myself). At my gym i am given one free personal trainning session so ill milk that for all it is worth and let you know in a few days if the trainer has any miracle-working words of wisdom. In the mean time... KEEP IT UP EVERYONE!!! :yay:

Alas, I have paid a couple hundred dollars for a personal trainer. I definitely get my workout in every day! If I calculate correctly, I consume on average 900-1100 calories. I think that's too low? Maybe that's my problem but I worry that if I eat more I won't lose. Even though I know I have to eat to lose. I think I will add a nutrionist to my list of people I shouldnt have to pay because I should know what I'm doing, but don't.

I would try to up your calories or the food you eat will go straight to storage instead of being used for energy. Seems your doing good as far as exercising.

I recommend checking out WebMD.com's BMI Calculator Plus not only will it tell you your BMI but it will also tell you a good amount of intake calories and outake calories (outake are calories you should burn during excercise)

Here's the link Pebbles and anyone else who feels in the same boat

copied from the Healthy Weight & Diet section of WebMD:

"You should never allow your daily caloric intake to fall below 1,200 calories because you may not get enough nutrients. Also, excessive calorie restriction could slow your metabolism and hinder your weight goals.

In addition to a low-calorie diet, exercising for at least 30 minutes per day at your target heart rate is the most effective way of losing weight and keeping it off. "

So I did Workout # 4 on the Wii Active and, although it was short (20 min) there were certainly a few killer exercises in there. I was sweaty when I was done but it only burned about 130 calories. My 4 yo and 7 yo like it too - they do the sports things. Keep it up everyone -

So I am getting a late start this morning. I had a major migraine :headache: last night so I didn't sleep well and just now getting around to eating breakfast (Special K Cereal and skim milk) :rolleyes1

Hope to get on my Wii Active for Day 4 of my 30 Day Challenge (high impact day):yay:
I'm still nursing a sore head not nearly as bad.

I tried reading the rules and my head was spinning! hahaha :headache:

Thankfully we're DVC members so this isn't an issue for us.

I'm now on day 3 of my 30 day challenge & I'm really feeling it, my legs are so sore from the lunges that I'm having trouble getting up & down and also climbing stairs is a killer. I'm so glad this is rest day as I don't think I could handle working out today. I'm going to do Denise Austin's hit the Spot Abs today as it doesn't involve any leg work. It's an old video which has 3 sets of ab exercises that are only 10 min each but they really work. I do one set every two days & in 6 weeks my abs are in shape.

Hope everyone is doing well, stay strong.:goodvibes

I just joined weight watchers today, it worked before hopefully it will work again. Doing it online didn't give me enough motivation, I got no where.
Going to Disney in August with Free Dining. I don't overdo it eating healthy is good along with all the exercise I get walking around in the hot sun. I am done having kids and now is the time to get my life in order so I can feel good about myself and be healthier. I am 5 foot 177 lbs and not happy about it. I would be happy to join you.

What's it like to have in shape abs?????? Hahah, I know mine are somewhere because I can feel them on fire, but I have yet to see them. Maybe my abs can live vicariously through you?

Day 3 was the hardest day. I was glad it was a rest day. Keep up the good work.

Hi guys,

I am just checking in and letting you know I just finished working out and I feel great. This is the first time I have exercised since we came back from Disney 8 days ago. I think I was having PVD (Post Vacation Depression) and was just not into the eating right and exercising but now that I worked out I feel awesome. I really have to remember this feeling for those days when I just don't want to exercise.

I have to get back to my goal weight and today is the day to start. I feel like if I post what I am going to do for the week than I am more likely to stick to it so here it goes. This week I am going to track all my food. I am going to drink all my water and try to get in all my fruits & veggies, and my dairy and healthy oil. I will start taking a daily vitamin too. I always forget that one. I will do my 45 min workouts 4 days this week and I will do my 20 min. abb routine the other 3 days. I will go food shopping and plan out my meals for the week. Did I forget anything?

I guess that's it for me. What will you do this week?

Loralie

Today is Sat weigh in day for me -
I am down exactly 1 lb this week. It is strange - that is not a great # but I feel thinner the last few days. I got my period this week but I have been exercising like crazy and I can't help but feel good. I am down 8.5 lbs total in 4 weeks and that is okay. I have 3 weeks until my trip and I was hoping to be at 180 lbs - that is 7.4 lbs away - I think I can do it -

180 lbs is really good for me - my pre - 3 babies weight was 178 and I would be proud to be back to that. I am tall and big and 178 would not be horrible. WW says my ideal weight is 167 but it is hard for me to imagine that - I would like to try though just to see how it is even if I can't maintain it.

A key for me this week is the TM - I can burn 500 calories in 45 minutes with a incline program - the Wii is really fun but I burn more calories with the TM. I am going to aim for both -

DD turns 8 today and we are going to Build a Bear at the mall with 7 friends. She is also so excited to Build your own dinosaur at TRex in Disney - kids are so expensive !

Well sorry for being so long but keep up the great work everyone - we are doing great - I can't say it enough - this board is really helpful. Thanks

Hi All:wave2:

I haven't posted in awhile, but I wanted to pop in and say I made my first goal weight of losing 10 lbs.:yay:. Except that only my husband has noticed, well at least that's one person in the world. And my clothes don't feel so tight!
I have at least another 10 to loose ( or hopefully more) before our trip in August. I figure 5 lbs a month should be attainable- right?

Today was not a great day with food, but two of my roommates from college and their families came to my house for breakfast and lunch. We haven't all been together since we graduated 15 years ago. So that was a reason to celebrate and none of us were counting calories.

But even though I fell off the wagon one day doesn't mean I can't climb back on tomorrow!

Thanks for everyones support on the boards.
