Wow you's are all reminding me of the good feeling you get with yourself when you see the weight falling off and generally just feeling a lot healthier :)

im in the same boat - i've lost about 14lbs so far and just thinking about walking around WDW feeling super happy with myself pushes me to keep exercising and eating right, i want to lose another 18lbs or so - so im nearly half way there!! - i have until October!

hehe i might use this forum to keep me on track - dont want to come on and be like oh oh's no gym for me this week ! :rolleyes1

It is important to realize that although we would all love to see our " magic number" on the scale it really is how we feel that matters. I am tall and for me my ideal weight is 167. The lowest I can remember ever was 160 in high school. Today if I weighed 170 I would be thrilled. Before I was the mom of 3 I weighed 178. I thought I needed to lose a little weight then and I probably did but overall I feel that if I had 3 kids and weigh my pre-babies weight than I am doing okay.

On a more positive note, I can honestly say that I feel better today about my body than a few days ago just with a few days of eating healthy and exercising. It really is not all about the scale . ( I say that to remind myself more than anyone else)

Be good -

Today is my first official day of my diet! I joined weight watchers online this morning and have been counting points all day...I'm SOOO hungry right now, it's awful! I know the first few weeks are going to be the hardest, but once I see that weight coming off, I know I'll be more motivated and it might be a LITTLE easier! Just gotta remember that I don't want to be huge again for Disney this year! :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Okay, count me in. We only have less than 3 weeks left until our Disney trip, but I refuse to be heavier than I was on our last trip last October! I hated my pictures bad enough then, I can't imagine now. I've been watching what I eat since last Sunday and putting in about 25 minutes a day on the wii fit my DH bought me for my bday. So far, I have lost 5.6 lbs! :yay: I need to lose 4.4 more to hit my first goal of 10 lbs. (baby steps!), and am hoping I'll hit it by the end of the week. I'd like to lose 20 lbs. total by our trip, but I know that's probably not realistic. 10 lbs. will put me back where I was on our last trip at least.

We're going back in October, so hopefully if I stick with it, I'll have the body I want by then!

Welcome to the party. The first weeks are difficult, but remember it takes 3 weeks to make and break habits.

Sounds like you are doing great. What are your favorite exercises on the Fit? I always do the free step and the boxing.

My favorite wi-fit exercise is the free run while watching TV (in another room--it still tracks your run) and also I just unlocked the free step. My fitness level is really low and these are very easy starting points. I also enjoy the Yoga! I love wi-fit and I can see improvement. I like the fitness tips it gives also!

I'm really feeling inspired by all your stories! Keep the posts coming. I am doing well--eating less and moving more! A winning combo!

good luck to everyone on meeting their goals! No matter what size we are or how much weight we would like to lose, we all share that same unhappiness with our bodies. Be it 10, 50, 100 lbs or more-we are all struggling to be our personal best and being able smile and like what we see when we look in the mirror.

I'm 37, 5'5 and 138lbs. I've had health issues (lupus) for the last 14 years and subsequent weight gain and loss. So it's been a yo-yo. I was stuck at 160 for a couple of years (darn steroids!) but have been as high as 178 (after giving birth). I have 8 more pounds to go to get back to my fighting weight (my weigh when I got married) and I am hoping to do that before Sept. when I will be back at WDW. Like everyone else, my life and schedule are hectic and I often lose my motivation to exercise because I'm so tired at the end of the day but I'll keep trying and I hope you all do to! Best of luck!!!!

I want a Wii Fit SOOOO bad!!! I just can't afford it right now, trying to save for Disney and everything! :) I'll just have to be happy with my elliptical for now. I was also watching this infomercial last night for these DVD's called Slim in 6, anyone ever hear of them? They seem pretty good, I might order those...I really despise exercising, so I need to do things that are fun!

I just finished 30min of free step. I haven't done the free run. I'll have to give it a try. I'm not the most graceful runner out there, but I'll try it.

Just finished walking on the treadmill for 45 minuted on a very hard hill program. I set it at 4 MPH and then the treadmill varies the incline - challenging but fun. I watch one taped episode of Grey's Anatomy each time. Without the commercials it is exactly 45 min. I am up to 2 days in a row of exercise.

BTW, we have Slim in 6 tapes and I am sorry to say I was not consistent with them. They seem good but hard and I did not stick with them enough to be able to do it. My husband however does the 12 min abd routine faithfully. I am sticking to my TM for now. Really want a snack before bed but I am not gonna - :yay:

Yeah it looks like the Slim in 6 tapes are pretty hard, but I think I need that! I know I'm going to get bored with my elliptical really soon! If it would just stop raining I could start going for walks on my break at work but it's supposed to rain all week!

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to all the new people wanting to lose weight for their WDW trip. This is a great thread. :welcome:

Just wanted to pop in to say that I exercised yesterday but was not great with the food. I ate too many snacks. :sad2: Today will be a better day, I already exercised this morning and it was a tough one but I feel great now. I have to go get ready for work. 10 more days and I will be at WDW. :woohoo::cheer2::cool1: I was thinking of doing the online check in....has anyone done it? Is there any reason why you would NOT do the online check in?

I will check back later...I am going to be late for work,

Have a great day,

Loralie

OK, so Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday were just awful for me on food. That "time" for me. Wasn't ready for that. I swear, I never had food cravings until after I turned 30, and I'm still not used to it. First time it happened and I ate an ENTIRE CAKE in a weekend by myself (about 4 years ago) I thought something was seriously wrong with me. I don't like sweets! :lmao:

Anyway, I was purchasing a few things for the group when we go in 2 wks, and well, have to go repurchase now! But, I'm back on track. It's so odd, now I can feel those cravings leaving. Horrid things! I eat so unhealthy and then I feel all icky because I ate junk and my body isn't used to it! Anyway, wanted to own up to my lack of control over myself. I could have just as easily not eaten that stuff - mostly candy. But, I did. I'm back on my yummy carrots, healthy meals and water now. Oh, and I ate a pizza, too! It's funny - thining back, now it's really just a nasty thought to me. But then, oh it sounded SO GOOD! :confused3 :rotfl:

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I totally feel your pain. I go through the same thing, I eat something and then feel terrible, but while I'm eating it taste so good.:lmao:

I didn't realize you live in two weeks! Yeah you:cheer2::cheer2:

Is that your photo in your avatar? Is it so lovely it looks like something you would see in a magazine.
I know that probably sounds creepy, but it's really great.

Hi Everyone,

I am having a hard time with the food lately. I am doing great with the exercise but I get home from work at 3:30 (most days) and all I want to do is eat. I know I am not HUNGRY all the time, I think I just want the taste of something good, or salty, or chocolaty...whatever mood strikes my fancy at the time. I think since my trip is 9 days away :woohoo: in the back of my mind I am like "I will be on the dining plan, I will be eating so much, 9 days is not really going to make a difference right now, as long as I exercise I am good to eat a few more snacks." This kind of talking is bad for me. I have to force myself to stick to my daily points. I have a party to go to on Saturday and Mothers day is on Sunday so I know my eating on the weekend will be hard to stay within my daily points.

I think I am also freaking out a little because of money. As I said we are going to a party and Mothers day on the weekend and those two things will cost a lot of money. I still feel like I need to buy so much stuff for the trip and I feel like I planned so many "extra" things to do in WDW that now thinking about all the money we will be spending is freaking me out a little. I am trying to relax and enjoy it...I don't want this way of thinking to ruin the trip.

O.K....I am just going to breathe and take it one step at a time.

I know it does not sound like it but I am still so excited about the trip. I am doing the single digit dance! :cool1::banana::cheer2:

I know how you feel, that's the hardest part for me...when I'm just sitting, reading or watching tv, I want to eat something, it doesn't matter if I'm hungry or not. And I'm not one of those people who can have a few of something, like chips or candy, just to satisfy my cravings...I want at least half the bag/box! It's day 3 for me on weight watchers and I'm not going to lie, it's hard, but it's been a little better than I thought! I just can't get over that wanting to eat feeling when I'm not doing anything! I hope it goes away!

The absolute worst time for me is from 3:30 to dinner. I get off of work and the three kids are home from school and it is utter choas until homework is done and dinner is eaten. I have tried to acknowledge that and not eat everything in sight.

I didn't go on the treadmill yesterday because there was absolutely no time but I did 20 min of PM YOGA and ate pretty well yesterday.

I am definately doing the countdown to June 20. I am ready to be done with school, little league, girl scouts, piano, tae kwon do etc, etc.

I need a vacation!

I have done my Wii fit 3 days in a row now. Yesterday I got off work early and ended up snacking in 2 brownies. :sad2: That's okay I just have to pick myself back up and not do it today. Went for a meeting yesterday with a nurse. It's a program at work. If you participate and follow the guidelines and meet the goals your insurance premium is lowered. I go every 4 months. She said I have lost .50% body fat!:yay: I was pleasantly surprised. Need to lose 5 lbs in the next four months to stay on goal. Hopefully I will lose more than that.

A friend of mine is a professional photographer - she's taken amazing photos of my horses and on occassion with me in them as well. And yes, that's me. One of the pics she took.

OK, right there with you! That texture/flavor thing can really grab me. I have found that carrots work for crunchy things - like chips. It's just hard to find the right mix of things that won't go over my caloric intake.

And I've got expected bills and unexpected bills that have to be paid and I leave in about 1.5 weeks and I need the money for that trip! But, I know it will all work out well. It just does tend to add the stress level up!

I know how you feel, that's the hardest part for me...when I'm just sitting, reading or watching tv, I want to eat something, it doesn't matter if I'm hungry or not. I do the same thing on the tv - that's where the carrots come in. I've gone through 2 pounds of those baby carrots a week. I also LOVE popcorn, as it is handy to eat as well, and doesn't add much.

Do you guys gain weight with your period? I ate excellent the last two days and gained .4 lbs. I know that's not alot but I was hoping to lose. Yesterday I got my period and I would love to blame it on that. (not the fact that I didn't get on the TM yesterday).

BUT I did notice a difference in my attitiude this morning. In the past when the scale disappointed me I was always tempted to give up. Today I was mad and determined to do better - I really want this and having a deadline - my trip 5/21 - seems to be helping me stay in track. In the past it always seemed to be easier to "start over tomorrow"

Good luck everyone today - Be strong

Today I work out - no excuses!!
