. On the plus side I exercised twice with Wii active yesterday (total og about 1 1/2 hrs) and walked in a 3 mile parade with my daughters Brownie troop today. I will do the Wii again tonight so I hope it will all balance out a little.
.

KidaniMom: How is WII active? My husband wants to buy it, but is it worth it?
I have wii fit and don't really care for it, so what do you think?

On another note:
I just got back from the gym and I'm glad I went. I started jogging on the treadmill today and that did make me feel good.
I have two more pounds to loose this week to make my month end goal.
For a very little number it does seem like a big struggle.:confused3

Well, I'm home and it was truly wonderful and magical. We started off at Cinderella's castle for dinner, and on our last day/night on property, we got to take the safari at Animal Kingdom first, completely by ourselves before anyone got into that section of the park. I believe that was because while we were first to set foot in the park, we took our time, didn't run, stopped to take pictures and then realized we were behind about 150 people. Anyway, it was truly magical! And the best beginning and ending.

On our first full day there, we took a tour and I wore a shirt that was one color. I had the exact same shirt in a different color that I went to wear at the end of the trip (our last day there)..... and it did NOT fit. I figured I'd gained weight with the character meals, etc. *sigh* Not weighing myself until I think I'm at least back under 150 pounds again. But, I think it was worth it! I ate more sweets and stuff than I have in forever, but it was such fun! Just have to work it all off again.

I am in love with Active. It really gives me a fun workout that makes me sweat. Fit doesn't motivate me like active. I just finished and I feel wiped. Jumping lunges take it out of me. But, I had to tighten the workout pants so something has to be working.

You have to splurge when your at Disney. You'll get under 150 again. You did it once you can do it again. Glad you had such a good time and welcome back.

I agree with Maiden Fairy - I love Wii Active - I have had for a whole day now LOL but I am eager to go do it now again. Yesterday I did the 1st workout of the 30 day challenge and then later I did a whopper 55 min session that was hard but doable. I am sore today so that is good. It is fun so far -

Thanks. I'm actually looking forward to getting back onto my eating schedule. Missed the healthier foods, but it was harder to keep that in stock when always on the go there.

Great before and after pics Lisa. Welcome back Bambilover...did you get hit with all that rain too? It was a wonderful trip but way too much rain for me. I am getting back on track today as well.

I wanted to post some before and after pics myself. The before pics are from our trip in 2005 and the after pics were from last week. The 2005 pics were the ones that started me on my weight loss journey. When I first saw those pics I could not believe that is how I looked. I tried to recreate some of the poses so you could see the difference.

Here I am at the Crystal Palace in 2005

Here is a pic of me on the bus taking a pic in 2005. I was shocked when I saw this pic. and made copies of it an put it on the fridge and in the pantry.

It takes a long time but dieting and exercising does work. It is still a struggle everyday and I know that if I don't watch what I eat I can go back to the way I was very easily. I still want to lose about 15 pounds so I am working on that now.

I started a trip report and posted a link in my sig. Check it out and let me know what you think.

WOW Laralie that is inspiration. Thanks for showing those pics. It'll keep me going this week.

Laralie - those pictures are great - you should be so proud. I bet it felt great walking around. If you don't mind me asking - how much did you lose? What was your strategy - any tips?

Thanks so much for sharing - you will inspire me

Thanks for posting those pics Laralie, it gives us all hope for our future weight loss.

Good news, I lost another 1.5 lbs.:banana:It's nice to be making progress.

I haven't read all the posts yet but thanks for the inspiration! I really need some. I am so unmovitated to work out, etc. I need all the support I can get!

Right now I am down a total of 60 pounds. I was down a total of 72 pounds but I gained back about 12 pounds that I am trying to lose again. I did it on weight watchers and exercise. It took me a year to lose 48 pounds which is kinda slow but that is what worked for me. Then the sad part was it took about 10 months to lose the other 24 pounds. :sad2:

I was on a path of losing and gaining for such a long time and I would always give up for some reason or another. Then one day it was like a light bulb went off in my head. I finally realized that every time I "give up" on watching what I ate, I gained back the weight. I told myself that I will be doing this for the rest of my life, not just until I reach my goal so it does not matter how long it takes as long as I don't give up. It sounds so simple but once I realized that I stopped obsessing over how much I was losing every week. I used to get upset if I ONLY lost a pound. I changed my thinking to be that as long as I lose something it is better than gaining so be happy with it.

I like weight watchers because you can still eat what you want, it just teaches you to eat in moderation. I found the meetings helpful too.

Just take it one day at a time and eventually you will get to your goal.

Good luck to you guys and to myself for trying to lose that 12 pounds again.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on the before and after pics. It was important for me to try to recreate some of the pics because it was the 2005 WDW pics that really made me see how overweight I was and started me on my weight loss journey. Since getting back from vacation it has been a little hard to get back on track. I also had a really bad day yesterday and as a result I know I ate more than I should have. I am still working on that. :confused3 As long as I don't give up totally than I am fine. Right?

There has been a lot of talk about the Wii active...my question is, do you need the Wii Fit to use the Wii Active? I have a Wii but not a Wii Fit.

Thanks again,

Loralie

No a Wii Board (that is with the wii fit) is not required.

Okay with many of you doing the Wii Active I was wondering if anyone wanted a Wii Active Partner ... pretty much someone to check in with everyday to keep us motivated ...

Also I am on my second day of my 30 day Challange and boy am I feeling it...

:yay: Going to workout again tonight before bed.... :yay:

In response to Lisa - I would love to partner up with some Wii Active users. I am going to do workout #3 tonight and I actually cant wait. It told me to take yesterday off and I really didn't want to but I was sore and tired so I did. Maybe I'll be one day ahead of you but let's support each other - and anyone else too.

The 3rd day on Active is hard. I moaned every time I would stand up. My legs were so sore from all those lunges. On my Off days I try to do 30min of free step on fit. I log the step as walking time in the journal of active.

What intensity level is everyone doing? I'm doing medium.

Lorali.. We got SWAMPED!!!! :scared1:

However, the bonus was that we never waited longer than 30 minutes for any ride (Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios was that wait, and that was the shortest we could find). We walked onto most, as I think the majority of the people there chose not to use the evening extra magic hours... I went thorugh SO many pairs of shoes, though! Was very thankful I had a vinyl raincoat! :rotfl:

I had the same thing w/ me... I realized that while I love the food, I just have to really watch how much I take in. And I needed to change my eating habits and all that. It really was such an odd thing. Mid 30's and I'm like... OH!

You do look fantastic! My best friend had that happen to her, as well. Some people said nasty things about her, but she looked great. Both of you look great, and you should be SO proud! We're all proud of you, so go girl!

It's 28 days and counting .......

Putting on the big push now. My plan is to work out EVERY DAY between now and June 24th which is the day before we leave. Although I haven't yet reached my goal weight which may never happen (it's a bit ambitious and probably unrealistic) I feel pretty good about the way I look. Tonight I did an hour long Plyometrics workout which kicked my butt!

Behind the Scenes: My husband has been away for the last three weeks with another four to go. While this frees up lots of my time to workout every night when I get home from work it does leave me awfully sad and lonely. Being able to check in here even if I just read and don't post has really helped. I just wanted to chime in and say even though you all may not know it, you've been helping me through a difficult time.

THANKS!! :flower3:

Just completed my 3rd work out on the active and I wasn't ready to be done so I played a little more with targets (my favorite) and running ( not my favorite but not nearly as bad as I thought)

The coolest thing is that I can do this when my kids are around - with the treadmill I always felt like I couldn't do it unless my husband was home and could help them if needed. They aren't tiny (4,7,10) but I didn't want to have to be jumping off the TM in the middle. That is a big plus for me because I was always waiting until they were asleep.

Still excited about the Wii -can't wait for tomorrow - I am worried about the cardio not being hard/long enough. I think I will do the TM on the rest days.

KPH500 - I am also in serious countdown mode - we leave 6/21 - I want to eat nothimg from now until then :rotfl: I also have to do some serious planning and packing.
