So I have been reading around about CP and I read somewhere that a lot of people lose weight from not having time to eat/money. Has anyone experienced that? Not that I can't stand to lose weight, I actually would love to hear that you do.

Oh man. I lost a lot of weight during my first CP. I went there weighing 112 and i came back weighing 92. I'm a small girl to begin with, so losing that much weight was not good. I didn't realized how much I had lost until I came home and actually got on a scale. Now everyone tells me how they were worried about me because I lost so much and looked so skinny. But, honestly, at the time I had no idea. I just knew my pants didn't fit quite as well, haha.

But seriously, it's not something I tried to do, it just happened. I worked at MK in fantasyland attractions. I guess it was a combination of walking, not eating enough on lunch breaks, and the breakup i went through while I was there. I would regularly just get a bagel on my lunch break because by the time you get to the cafeteria, wait in line, pay, etc, you don't have a lot of time! My recommendation is to bring your own food if you can. It will save you time so you can actually relax on break and will also save you money. Also, ESPECIALLY if you're working outside make sure to drink lots of water. My first month there I got heat exhaustion because I got dehydrated at work. I almost passed out and they had to take me backstage and I puked everywhere. It was the first time in my life I had thrown up so I literally thought I was dying, haha. They had to call the paramedics and everything. It was awful.

So yeah, needless to say my first CP wasn't the healthiest experience I've had... My second CP was much better because I was better prepared I think. Just remember to keep your health in check while you are there and you'll be ok. And if you WANT to lose weight then all of the walking and activity will definitely be a great way to do it. Just remember to EAT! haha. Those 14 hour work days can make you forget sometimes...

haha i was hoping to lose a lot being down there. between being on a strict budget, working in the heat, working out, and getting away from all of the temptational food at home, i would expect to drop quite a few pounds

I also lost about 10 pounds on my first program, which I didn't even realize until I came home and weighed myself. I felt like I ate alot because I would come home and just pig out on snacks and whatever. You spend SO much time on your feet standing and walking while working plus being outdoors and sweating. I definitely wasn't intentionally trying to lose weight but I did.

Aha, I did the opposite. I was underweight when I went, though - I used to average 107 pounds, and now I'm around 120. I contribute part of that to going to the gym and actually developing some muscle, and the rest to the amount of food I would consume on a day off at the World Showcase.

i didnt have money to eat so yeah i lost quite a few lbs lol

not exaggerating i really had no money to eat

I think it was more about time than not actually having food money lol. I would be too lazy to prepare lunch for work, then spend all day working hard in the heat. Then not want to spend money at the cast cafeteria or only have a 15 minute break so not want to waste it walking over there.
I think I lost 20 pounds. My roomies and I called it The Disney Diet.

I need to lose weight anyways so something to kick me in the butt and actually make me stick to a somewhat decent diet sounds good to me. :) I also plan to start trying to go to Epcot on days off and just walk world showcase round and round... with the hills over in France and such I think it would be a good workout. I won't be in the heat much being in hospitality but I want to work on getting healthier!

I heard the character performers especially lose weight while on the CP... I'm a normal weight for my height, but I wouldn't mind getting in shape while I'm down there. For those who have already done the CP, did you find yourselves getting more 'in shape' without having to go to the gym?

During my CP in fall 08 I lost about 40 pounds! As a custodian I walked around my area for my shifts. I believe that is was the combination of walking and heat/sweat for me; not the food. I didn't realize I was actually losing weight until my pants of my costume was falling down and switched sizes :rotfl2: Since I got accepted as a custodian again for this fall semester cp I am looking forward to shed a few pounds!

When I did my CP, I lost between 15-20 lbs. The "not having money to eat" is greatly exaggerated, but I did start drinking a lot more water, and also switched from drinking regular soda to diet. (Granted, there are issues with the artificial sweetners too, but there are a lot less calories)

I think I probably lost 5-8 lbs. I only weighed like 128 to begin with and wasn't looking to or planning on lose any weight. I think the amount of walking around I did was probably what helped me lose the weight. My appetite/stomach also shrunk. I used to be able to eat 3 taco bell burritos in like 5 mins without any problem and not feel like overly full but I am doing good now to eat 2 in 10 mins and I will probably end up feeling like a puff-a-lump.

Honestly I think most people lose at least a little weight or get more toned. You stand and walk around a lot for most roles. If you play in the parks frequently your going to be doing a lot of walking during that.

I lost weight but not much. Yes your roles require you to walk around a lot, but you will end up buying lots of fast food and going out to eat. It all balances out.

I lost about 15lbs as a CP. It wasn't so much a lack of money, but working outside in the heat on your feet all day, which is much different than sitting in a classroom. On my days off, I would often go to the park or swim, which also invovled exercise.

I also always brought my lunch instead of eating at the cafeteria because I worked at DAK and if you went to the cafeteria it would pretty much take your whole break to get there and back. I ate pretty much whatever I wanted...we would go out to dinner, etc. I wasn't really trying to lose weight, it just happened.

i am planning on losing weight down there if i get in too!! it will be a definite goal of mine!

Wow, it's so interesting to hear that people lose weight during the CP. It makes sense, since there is a lot of walking and standing. It's funny how there is the freshman 15 and the CP is a diet hahaha!

I haven't done the Cp yet, and I think losing weight is something I don't mind. That is a plus to tell my mom and dad so that they can actually allow me to do the CP haha!

Um, am I the only person who GAINED weight?:rotfl2:

I STARTED losing weight, but I didn't bring my scale so I have no idea how much....but then as my CP was coming to an end, I just got it in me that I wanted to experience as many Disney restaurants as I could..:rotfl:

When I got home I was 10 pounds up...still have yet to lose it lol.:rolleyes1

I did lose a bunch of weight during my CP. Overall, about 10 pounds (which is a lot for my height). I ate pretty much the same things as before I got there, just a lot less frequently. I worked at MK, so sometimes had pretty late hours. When I got back to my apartment in the wee hours of the morning, I would often just go to bed hungry. My breaks during shifts were always pretty spaced out and eating small snacks every couple of hours boosted my metabolism. Always brought my own food so I wouldn't grab chips out of the vending machine or anything. And then the moving around during work and free time around Orlando contributed to a lot of my weight loss.
