Conversation at the doctor today.
Nice Doctor Lady "Have you been drinking enough water and staying hydrated?"
Me "No, not really."
Nice Doctor Lady "Have you been eating enough fiber? Eating good fruits and vegetables"
Me "Not so much"
Me "To tell you the truth, we've had so many family birthdays during the past month, I've pretty much been just having cake & pop!"

--------------------------

So there you go ladies and gentlemen! Several months ago I decided that I wanted to lose 20 pounds before I went to WDW in August. I've been to there in August twice, so I know that it is hotter than the face of the sun then. And I know that even though I have a lot more to lose, even if I just lost 20 pounds it will make a huge difference in how I felt on my trip.

So I got my Iphone, downloaded the "Lose It" app, and started on my way. Happily, I lost 5 pounds. Then the "birthday season" for just about everyone I know hit, and I just pretty much stopped paying attention! It's been party, party, party! I AM HAPPY TO REPORT that I didn't gain any of the weight I had lost. Yay me! :cheer2: Of course that led me to believe I was having some terrible disease that I should be worried about. But really I think it's just that I've been on the go more, and not doing any late night snacking.

So I have 4 weeks left until my trip and there is no reason why I can't lose at least 5, or even 10, pounds before I leave. I started this thread as a way for me to be able to journal my successes, and share my struggles. Just as an FYI, I'm more of a "hurray for me for only getting the small fries at McDonald's girl" than a "oh how terrible, I used the low fat salad dressing on my plate of veggies instead of eating them dry" gal. (Not that I am trying to give the healthy eaters a hard time. They are doing a GREAT thing. I'm just not really one of them in that way.)

I invite you to join me on this journey, and share yours if you're on one too! And let's see what we can do together in 4 weeks!

---------------------------
Today's meals so far......I'm just about to eat "brunch". I mean, who eats before they go to the doctor?

Weight Watchers Lasagna
A slice of Italian Bread
Lots of Water
Thinking of an orange or some strawberries for a snack/dessert later

See you soon!

WDW in 4 weeks, here I come! :dance3:

Hi Lori.

I'm struggling to keep off the weight I lost last year. Funny - I break up with someone, I gain weight. I start a new relationship, I gain weight.

Good luck losing before Disney! The birthday season can be murder.

Hi Lori, I too am on the opath to losi weight. I have lost 22lbs so far. Then came my husbands 40th bday and the celebrating began. I have NOT gotten on the scale because I am afraid of what I might see. I am going to eat healthy for a few days and then hop on this weekend. Hopefully, I will not have gained back as much as I think I have.
Also, you made me laugh with the Mc Donalds comment because I think the same way..yay for getting the small fry!!:yay:

Redlight: Good luck with keeping that weight off!!!! :)

Well, the day didn't end quite as healthfully as it started, but I did do some good things. We went to a pot-luck sort of dinner (basically family friendly finger foods) before starting a couple's Bible Study we're in.

The bad news: Dinner consisted of Little Caesar's pizza, chicken fingers, and a mozzerella stick.

The good news: I was able to pay attention to what I ate and track it in "Lose It" when I got home. And I actually was within 100 calories of my goal for the day.......except that I just remembered that I forgot to log the dessert. Ooops! Still, better than I have done many other days.

And today is a new day!!!!!

Today I am tracking and paying attention again. The hope is always to make healthier choices, but I have realized that when I'm tracking and paying attention I eat less even when I may not be choosing the BEST foods.

Lunch today, Lean Cuisine Macaroni & Cheese. Pretty yummy! I've noticed that the Lean Cuisine and WW frozen dinners are actually pretty good. But I just need to stay away from the ones with mashed potatoes. I love mashed potatoes, but the ones in those dinners are watery and not that great. Not really worth the space they take up in that tiny little tray! So I've been going with the pasta choices more often, and am pretty satisfied when I eat them.

Here's to a good rest of the day! I hope the same for you!!:yay:

Redlight and Sabrina,

Thanks for joining me! Maybe we can inspire each other!!

I guess I shouldn't mention that I woke up from a nap yesterday salivating from thinking about a mickey mouse rice krispie treat (all covered in chocolate). Yummy!
