I really want to eat here, but I can't find anything stating that it is a good restaurant. Anyone out there eat there recently? This is my last ADR, and I'm trying to decide between this and some others (mostly in Epcot) that get better reviews (although aren't as appealing). Thanks!

We ate there recently and thought it was ok. I know there are a lot of people on these boards who love it, however. There are a lot of Italian restaurants where I live so we get good Italian food all the time. I also thought it was overpriced. We were going to a dessert buffet that evening and wanted to eat light. So we ordered for 4 of us two appetizers, one salad and one entree and it was over $100 -- no alcoholic beverages! I don't mind paying high prices if the food is really good, but, like I said, it was nothing special IMO.

We ate there last summer, it was pretty good. Now, I am Italian and am pretty picky about my Italian food when out. I cannot, in all honesty say it is fabulous or the best ever, that would not be true. I do think the food is decent, worth a try! I like the caesar salad and the fettucine was quite good. The red sauce (which I am most picky about) was not, imo, good at all. Desserts were yummy (we all split the sampler) and the waitstaff was awesome--very attentive.

I did make another ADR this year, as my dh & older ds were not with us last year when we went. I think they may enjoy it. In all the years we have been going to WDW, last year was the first time I tried it.

This was one of those restaurants we had ressies for but never seemed to make it to. When we finally went 9/05 we loved it! I had heard it was noisy and crowded and I agree with both. The tables are close together but we joke that if you give our family a box, we would be fine. We all loved our food and had a great meal. We went back again 3/06 and had another great meal. It's now on our list of restaurants to often repeat. I had read many a mixed review before we went but we had a great meal both times. I will warn you it was not cheap, but you can review the pricing before you go in. Consider also that we usually have a couple of drinks and a bottle of wine.

Consider the $, close tables and it can be noisy but even with that, we love it. My son tends to be a noise maker (4yrs old) so that helps with us. We had very nice meals and great service. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a romantic dinner for two but if you're looking for a great meal and nice atmosphere, give it a try! We're glad we finally did and we're heading back 12/06!

We LOVED IT!. I gotta tell you I had LOW expectations after reading the reviews here on the Dis. In fact on the way to it that night I stopped at LeCellier to see if they could get us in (of course that as a BIG FAT NO!) I just wasn't looking forward to it.

Well. . .it turned out to be one of the best meals we had. I had the ceasar salad (one of the best I've ever had, I'm not kidding). My husband had the fried calamari as an appetizer, DELICIOUS. Their home made bread is very good too. I had the lasagna. Now, I get lasagna all of the time an was expecting your average lasagna, this was much better, SOOO cheesy, just loved it. We had good chocolate mousse for desert too, very very good. We really enjoyed our server from Rome who was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to as well. Go, try something new, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm not expecting to be the best Italian food, just decent. And I'm vegetarian, so even though DH wanted to eat at the Biergarten, I think that this is a better choice!

Corinne - I'm picky about the red sauce in particular and Italian food in general, too, so it is funny that you said about the red sauce. I don't hear that too often - most people don't seem to notice.

And it is good to hear about the ceasar salad and bread - if those are good, I'll be pretty happy.

We are going with the dining plan, so I'm not worried about the cost (I figure that this is the time to try it!). It will be me, DH, and 2 DDs, so we aren't going for the romantic factor, either.

This is our favorite restaurant in the whole world. Not just WDW, the WHOLE world However, it isn't for everybody. If you like the food at Olive Garden, or if your grandmother/mother/aunt/whatever from the old country made the only pasta you ever liked, stay away. For the rest of us(including many who have traveled to the real Italy) it's a little slice of heaven.

What does liking the food at Olive Garden have to do with anything??? We happen to think it's fine, but are assuming the food at Alfredo's will be much better ... at least authentic. It's like telling people that if you like Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips to stay away from Rose & Crown.

I've been there twice, and enjoyed it. The fettucine is amazing; very rich. It is loud and quite crowded, but as someone else pointed out, if you're not looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, it's a lot of fun. I can also recommend Marrakesh and Spoodles, if you're looking for something Mediterranean - both offer good food and interesting, attractive surroundings.

I think it is delicious, but it is very rich compared to just about any I've had at other locations.

I'm trying to be careful about telling others how great the food is by advising how it may be very different than that to which they are accustomed.

I thought Fet. Alfredo WAS a cream based sauce? ....also with butter and parm. cheese.

I understand what you're saying, but I just hate when people say to "stay away from Alfredo's" if they like the Olive Garden. Where we live, the Olive Garden is all we have, and just because they have a creamy sauce on their alfredo, etc., doesn't mean that's the only kind of food we Olive Garden people will enjoy. That's just all we can get. Yes, we know Alfredo's will be different ... we expect and WANT it to be different. As for the veal in the lasagna, I LOVE veal, so how great is that! Yes I like Olive Garden, but can't wait to try Alfredo's.

I ate there in 05 and found it to be good. I liked the atmosphere and enjoyed the food. I didn't leave there with any disappointment, but it didn't knock my socks off either.

I LOVE Alfredo's, and I also like Olive Garden. The fettucine alfredo is very different (and much better IMHO) than that at OG. It does not have that thick white cream consistancy, and is made primarily with butter and cheese. It is SOOOOOOOOO good and the meal I look forward to most! The pasta is super tender and the caesar salad/bread was great too. We have had mixed success with service, but never anything horrible. GO GO GO GO GO and enjoy!

we do alfredos every trip, they have awesome homemade fetticine alfredo, yummy.

DD asked to eat here for our upcoming trip (she's taking Latin, and wants to eat in Rome! LOL!) I am not expecting a fantastic meal, but I was planning on trying the lasagna. Not too sure about the veal filling, however. I may have to order the fettecini, since many here have enjoyed that.
