Given Disney’s refusal to differentiate vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors in California (where out of state visitors could come with proof of vaccination but Disney has chosen to instead just limit to in state), I think it’s safe to at least presume they won’t be doing it at Disney World either. Might the policies be different? Sure, but it seems unlikely.

Therefore I would presume whatever the unvaccinated, non-distanced recommendation is today will be Disney’s plan for the next 8ish weeks, until vaccination of willing US adults is complete.

Ugh more mask talk

I get that the issue of masks vs. no masks has been beaten to death, but in fairness there is a new development on the horizon that I personally believe may be very, very relevant to the Disney vacation experience. OP is not bringing up the same old debate; he/she is questioning what will happen following this major national change.

I know people have mask thread exhaustion, and a lot of times they turn nasty, but realize that a lot of people (more than you’d imagine) are waiting on masks to go away before booking their vacation. For some of us it’s the single most important change for our trip to Disney. Do we need a new thread every day? Probably not, but because the threads that do talk about it get locked, people have no other place to discuss it. Oddly, I see the same people complaining about mask threads in every mask thread instead of just letting the threads drop down the new post list into obscurity. In a way, you’re prolonging it.
I am confident that the “masks are going away” thread, whenever it happens, won’t be locked. So you won’t miss the news.

I really don't think anything is going to change for Disney. On the Today show they seemed to be saying that if the CDC loosens mask recommendations, it won't be for large crowds where people will be standing close together for more than a few minutes.

I'm afraid you may be right, but who knows. So far here in Texas having full stadiums without mask restrictions hasn't been the end of times that was predicted by experts. We also have another 6 weeks before June and the way things are changing so rapidly it's still not out of the question to be maskless outside by then.

My guess is Disney will go with reduced social distancing and still require masks everywhere. That allows more people in the parks. I'd love for them to stop requiring masks outdoors, but I don't think that is the option they will choose.

I doubt anything will change for WDW in the immediate future. In addition to CDC guidance, wasn't the mask requirement built into the return-to-work agreement with the CM union? It may be more complicated to drop some of the safety protocols if such are embedded into a union contract.

Just read this last night. Thought it was interesting.

Dollywood has announced that as of April 12, 2021, Guests will no longer be required to wear face masks while outdoors and keeping six feet of physical distancing from others. They are also removing temperature checks.Apr 13, 2021

I think the biggest issue you are going to see is people becoming more argumentative as the months go by. With many now being vaccinated, CDC guidelines changing, and many states not requiring masks, Disney will need to prepare for the influx of folks that are no longer wearing masks anywhere else. (Including of course most of Florida). I feel bad for the CM's that are going to have to deal with visitors , but honestly, they need to make a change, at least in the outdoor policy. I personally have no issues wearing a mask, well OK, it's annoying in the heat, but it's definitely time for a change.

Disney World is so much bigger and more crowded than other parks I can't see them going maskless outside. It's not like Legoland.

With so many indoor rides I can't see the enforcement of only wearing indoors. As it is, too many people remove their masks on rides.

To the poster who mentioned the Today show .... why are they all six feet apart? They're all vaccinated.
