Loophole in FP+ to benefit young kids?

I think I may have discovered a small loophole in FP+...

I booked FP+'s for my family and self a while back. When I booked the attractions I 'split' the times between my wife and self. Here's what I mean in the form of an example...

Let's say I'm going to the MK, here's what I would book:
9:00am - 10:00am: Dumbo (Booked under wife)
10:00am - 11:00am: ETWB (Booked under my name)
11:00am - 12:00pm: Barnstormer (Booked under wife)
12:00am - 1:00pm: Meet Mickey (Booked under my name)
1:00pm - 2:00pm: Meet Ariel (Booked under wife)
2:00pm - 3:00pm: Peter Pan (Booked under my name)

My daughter is unable to book fast passes due to her age (will turn 3 over our trip), however, she would be allowed to go on with us since we are adults. This would allow us to schedule the things she wants to go on, and we would just split the FP+'s for them. I guess this would only apply to children under 3?

Does this make sense?

It makes sense and will work, but I wouldn't call it a loophole.

Your daughter is getting more attractions at the expense of your family staying together. It is not something we would choose to do, but if it works for you more power to you.

I see enough of my wife the way it is....thank you Disney for helping our family out!!!

Thanks for answering my unasked question. I'm going in a year or two with an under 3 year old and was wondering if he just was able to go on attractions with us since he cannot get a FP+. So, I guess that answer is yes.

nevermind...answered my own question :)

this only works for under 3... you will be able to book anyone with a ticket linked.

You could have done the same thing with regular FP, and had the potential to get more throughout the day.

Our almost 3 year old didn't really care that much about the rides. He loved shows and characters more.
The only thing he got REALLY excited about was the trains, and none of those require FP.

We did split up some, but it was because DH had equilibrium issues, and had trouble on even the tamest attractions last time. In that case, sometimes I would use his FP to ride a ride again with DS, which is something else that I believe is no longer an option with FP+.

I wonder if that would work for 7 & 9y/o??? How did you know she was unable to book FP+

No, it won't. They need a FP+ to get into the FP+ lines. It only works for under 3's because they don't need park tickets, therefore they don't need FP+ (and can't book them), they just tag along with their adults.

When I attempt to book for her it doesn't allow us to book anything. It actually states on the FP+ page online that we can't book for her since she isn't 'paying' for admission to the park.

You can still use someone else's FP. You just have to take his or her MB to scan at the ride.

It was my 6 and 8yos who really lucked out, thanks to having a 2yo brother and to rider switch. They were able to ride all their favorites-the mountains, soarin and TT-twice. Once with dh, and once with me. This was before tiering at Epcot, of course.

Good to know.

We did this just today. I'd booked FP for everyone to go on Dinosaur because it was just easier that way. My nine-year-old wanted nothing to do with it (which is how I thought she'd feel). My husband stayed with the baby while I took my oldest daughter and son on it. Then the nine-year-old gave her sister the MB so she could go again with my husband.

The families with children under 3 are really making out. A lot of people are reporting that they are using Rider Swap with only one FP+. For example: DH will go on and I wait with baby. He uses a FP+, gets a RS for me and then I will be able to go on without using a FP+. All I need is to show the RS pass. That doesn't seem fair, even though it really benefits us- that would be double fast passes for us.

Thanks, this is great info!

Wow! Crazy if that works. We are thinking about going in Oct with family members. It would be 7 adults, 1 child over 3, 4 under 3 years old (well one turns 3 on trip) so 8 FP+ users and plenty o babies to show for rider swap. So if each RS is good for 3 then we could conceivably split our FPs into groups...oh it sounds complicated and too much planning! I miss regular old FP.

The other side is, if they start requiring FP+ for everyone who rides, even those riding with a swap pass, there is no point in getting a RS pass if you are going through the FP line. Siblings would no longer get that extra ride because they would only be able to go through when they held a FP+. It only would serve a purpose to SB guests.

We are a family with an under 3, and I hardly consider us making out. It takes us double the time to do an attraction for our whole party to ride if there is a height limit.

This was the very question I was going to ask. We have DS2 who obviously can't ride the bigger rides. So one of us can take DD8 on something with a fast pass and then use rider switch as well without a wait? So in all reality we can double the amount if fast passes we get per day?
