Just got back from the doctors and the preliminary is that I tore my ATFL- anterior talofiblular ligament- or something close to that spelling... I have to go to the ortho surgeon next week to follow up and get MRIs etc. but my doc is pretty certian thats what it is... :headache: I'm sure walking on in for 5 days hasnt helped much at all...

So looks lik I'll get to spend my summer in an immobilizer and going through physical therapy... recoop time frame is 6-8 weeks so assumig I can get the surgery by mid June I should be back to myself by the time school restarts... :sad2:

To all of my Fellow Fiends that will be there over teh 4th- there will be plenty of drinking and snacking at our site:rolleyes1 as all I'll be albe to do is sit with my foot elevated :headache:

Bummer ! Hope it all works out well,,,hav'n to be fixed sucks, but better to be fixed than not. :thumbsup2
On the bright side,,I'm sure all will do their duty to help drink your way to recovery,,,I can certainly tell you that I would if I get the chance! :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear that u need surgery. Next time make Matt do all the work. If there is anything we can do for you let me know. Richie got his dates for surgery he told me around July 28th, so hopefully he will be recovered by Labor Day.
Anyone want to get a group rate together for Labor Day?

Hey,,how bout a group RECOVERY rate ! :lmao:

I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the boys while I'm stuck off of my feet for 8 weeks.... I've been tryig to convince Matt that I would recover so much faster if we were at the Fort :lmao:

Even better, I suggested splitting the boys up between my parents and his and we could be child free at the Fort for the summer!!!

Oh well- the pain meds are making me delusional as always...

At least I can still go fishin' :thumbsup2

(I was sick last summer....I know your pain....)

Beer will help.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, and a speedy recovery. :)

I can't commit to Labor Day because of our current job situation, but if things get better, I might consider it.

Awwww, man Cheryl. That stinks!!

If we are taking a vote...I vote that you split the boys up and recouperate at FtW. :thumbsup2

I doubt we will be there Labor Day. We scheduled the last weekend of August. Then 10 days from 10/29 to 11/08. I think that's all the Fort we can afford for this year. :(

Lorna we will be there Labor Day. Already have my ressies. If you get a group rate let me know. but i won't stay in 16-1900 again. I have ressies for a premium.

Anyway see you guys there in Sept.

Yep, I say pawn off the kids and recoup at the Fort!!!

We can't do Labor Day either, our APs expire August 30th, so we're doing a Free Dining trip at All-Stars from Aug 21st - 30th, then will not get new APs till the Halloween GG.

It sure bites when 4 weeks leave a year isn't enough!!!

I vote recoup at The Fort. I had knee surgery last Tuesday. We already had a trip planned for the end of June. Good luck with your surgery.

Sorry to read about your upcoming surgery. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

I vote for recovery at the fort!! :wizard:

I need richer friends. I'm leaving you people and going back to my millions.:lmao::rotfl2:

:lmao::cool1::rotfl2: I'm trying to devise a way to spend the summer at the Fort, but since Matt has to work and I pretty much cant walk... I'll probably only be there from Thurs-Sunday on weekends we can get ressies :lmao:

I say drink some more beer.

Surgery is a PITA, but beats the alternative. Good luck

This thing says it's in the ankle! Gotta love Wiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anterior_talofibular_ligament

How did you mess it up? My wife'sbroken her foot several times -

I've already requested the beer stash be tripled ;) As far as how I messed it up... this particular time it was a pine cone that did me in :confused3 Matt and I were carrying our picnic table around to the front of our site last weekend. Since it was so wet I was worried bout the camper getting stuck in the quicksand- eer coquina so we put the camper in sideways and had to ring the table around to the front of the site- through about 8+ inches of swamp water that was hiding pinecones.

I have a genetic condition that apparently because of it all of my ligaments are half their width and over elasticised. I can sprain them without even doing anything. This ankle has been sprained an average of 5x a year for the past 17 years... I'm sure all the years of cheerleading, gymnastics and ballet didnt help the cause any though... I've been told it would be better to break it cause the bones can be reset and heal... accd to my doc this particular ligament was being held together by scar tissue and when I rolled it over a pine cone -that was the end of it.

I think you should recover at the fort too.

Send the kids to the gma's houses!

I am currently trying to find a way to get all of the boys up to NJ for the summer instead of the usual split... but in order for that to happen, my MIL would have to take at least one of them and I highly doubt that will happen. Unfortunately for me- at this point it looks like my parents will be coming down here for the summer:scared1: If thats the case- I will be at the Fort every given chance!!!! I wish FL had paid FMLA like NJ does... if my mom does take leave to come down here after my surgery, she can get up to 6 weeks paid leave... if FL had that, we'd be spending my entire recovery at the Fort!

Lorna- If you can get enough ppl together for a labor day group- let me know!

If I get a chance tomorrow, or in the next few days, I have to call to see if it is avail. Richie I hope will be OK by Labor Day.
His surgery is scheduled for July 23rd, they say it takes 5 days in the hospital and 4 week recovery, but for him it will be 10 days and more than 4 weeks, Cherly maybe you and him can recover together at the fort and Matt and I can vist!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me! I'll do anything to go to the Fort :cool1: I'm regretting canceling our trip next weekend I could really use the excuse to lay around and not worry about vaccuming, cleaning, laundry and everything else... instead I'm stuck here on the couch being aggravated cause I cant do everything that I need to get done around here... maybe I should have my mom come down... everytime she does she reorganizes my house anyway....:lmao:

Oh Cheryl, I'm so sorry! You can still go to WDW, your boys just have to push you around in a wheelchair! After all the years of you pushing them in a stroller I say it's fair!!! Have them take you to Epcot and get a beer in every country...you'll feel better in no time!

(I was sick last summer....I know your pain....)

Beer will help.

Beer? Girl, I didn't see you consume anything but saltines last summer!!!!! Poor thing.
