Looks like Free Dining did not work

I originally booked my trip this past January for the last week of September. Thanks to these boards I found out about the free dining plan available during the time that I am there. Let me ask a question? Does this free dining plan come available every year during the "slow" seasons?? That would be a dream come true for because I would book my trip around that time frame. I guess I am looking a gift horse in the mouth (whatever that old saying is, lol).

Well I don't know if you consider Denver major or not (I do), and it wasn't advertised in our papers, and if it was it was small and maybe a day or 2 because I didn't see it.

I do consider Denver a major city.. And as for the advertising, I was informed of ads in newspapers not only by others who saw them, but by 2 different CMs when inquiring if Disney would be running any new promotions.. I, and multiple others- which is why we went looking for the ads- were told to watch the coming Sunday's newspapers as there would be something there.. Turned out it was just advertising the extention of the free dining plan. (I did not see any of these ads with my own two eyes, but have been told they ran in at least a few papers..? ) Anyway, it didn't mean any disrespect.. I just figured I'd add my opinion as to what I thought the purpose of the dining plan was.. Didn't mean to step on your toes.. (or Denver's :) )

hey no problem, I just wanted to also throw that out there, as I also consider it a major city, but I know others do not.

For Disney employees, hopefully it gives them a good month of tips where it would usually be slower! At least assuming sit downs are slower w/the rest of the park. Plus potentially people may spend more on souvies, etc. if they have the attitude that dining is "free".

I came back on the 26th, five days after free dining started. The lines in the morning were very very light, we walked onto most rides.

We also did not have any trouble switching some sit down dinners we had planned. I was able to get Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey and Nine Dragons (China) all the same day I called.

I will be there with DH from Sept 10-15 and The Unofficial Guide originally had our days at a crowd level of 2 - now they are a 6 (Boo-hoo   )

I'm thinking that this probably has to do with Free Dining - but I certainly hope that the predictions are wrong - I know they are normally spot on but there's a first time for everything.

Here's wishing...
